    Rules:
    - Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to a theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    - You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    - 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    - Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    - The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).

Entries will close at 20:00 GMT on Friday 24th September and will be judged by myself Nick Y.
In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 9PM Sunday 26th September, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll.

This weeks theme will be: British Rail after steam (before privatisation)
Diesel passenger traction - 1970 onwards

May I suggest you widen the theme to include the many of our worldwide community that do not play UK routes?
    Maybe "1970s - 1980s"?
Would just like to see the most people possible included in this competition and to keep the themes wide open to everybody worlwide.

Personally you have picked my favourite era.
Just a thought but how about settting up a new thread for us "Post Steam BR Enthusiasts" to share our contributions?
    Cheers

Since there has been no interest in this weeks theme, I have decided to edit the choice and it will now be diesel passenger traction - 1970 onwards

Thank you, I am absolutely loving it, a beautifully crafted route, major credit to all involved in it's creation.
It is routes like this that keep TS20xx alive and still growing after all this time.
    Long may it continue.

    Screenshot_[OTS] Northern Lines_53.84846--2.99297_18-41-50.jpg
Seen just after leaving Poulton-le-Fylde with 2N97 15:49 Chester-Blackpool North, 31602 and 31459 are past by 156440 and another UID 156, running as 1F04 18:37 Blackpool North-Liverpool Lime Street. The 31s are hired in from Fragonset by First North Western due to a shortage of units. These were known as 'Club Trains' and ran with First North Western from February 2004 until the end of the First North Western franchise. Having set off from St Annes-on-the-Sea at 06:40 this morning the train ran to Greenbank, where it ran empty to Chester, before returning as 2N97.

    Screenshot_Just Trains - Midland Main Line_53.23493--1.42004_07-39-27.jpg
With Chesterfields Twisted Spire as the backdrop, 37406 is seen passing with 1Z56 07:06 Sheffield-Pwllheli. It is currently running 10 minutes behind schedule due to the 37 shutting down twice on the ECS to Sheffield. It is seen passing 43107 'Tayside' which is trailing 43116 as 5C27 06:32 Etches Park Sdgs-Sheffield, while on hire to Midland Mainline.

The journey only got worse for the tour from here though, with a lack of cooling water/electrical issue and then Network Rail not allowing the tour over the Cambrian Line incase of any more problems. The tour was eventually diverted to Blackpool North, but not before another issue at Preston regarding not having a brake vehicle at both ends.

Those wanting to find more info on this tour go to Six Bells Junction- 18 June 2005- The Snowdonian I

This is why I love this thread, not only some amazing screenshots with the best eye candy available for TS20xx, but also knowledgeable folks that are willing to share and inspire others to delve deeper into the vast history of Railways.
    Many Thanks

I know the feeling, whilst I always feel it an honour and grateful to be chosen as a winner, as judge I also find it really hard to try and select just one from the many excellent contributions.
Personally if it makes life easier for you to disregard my entries for this week, feel free.
Cause if you do I get to play again next week LOL :D:D:D

Well, it's time to announce the winners for this week and it was a difficult choice.

In 3rd place: Craigie-C with this shot of a class 40 passing Conwy Castle
    [IMG]

2nd place: cscarpenter with 2x class 37s in Regional Railways livery just outside Blackpool.

And in 1st place, duchess33 with this great shot of a class 37 and a class 43 HST at Chesterfield.

Special mentions to NickFarrant for this nice shot of a class 156 on the MML
    [IMG]
and Craigie-C for his class 142 departing Knaresborough
    [IMG]

Well done to the winners. As I said, it was a difficult one to judge as all the entries were fantastic.
I now hand over the master key to duchess33 for next weeks competition.

Would that be the one by Dream Academy and filmed in Hebden Bridge or the re-release filmed in various locations?

Thanks, always like to include a bit of info so people have an idea of whats going on. This one especially was of very much interest so I just had to make this a scenario. I'm glad you like it!

    That's the one :D .
No idea where Freiheit came from, will just put it down to either:-
    a) A long week at work
    b) Old fart brain fade
    c) The bottle of Friday night Shiraz that was being consumed.
    d) A combination of all of the above
Either way thanks for the correction.

No worries, we've all had times like that. It's a good song and has been sampled many times, most notably by Dario G in their hit Sunchyme.

You're welcome. It was a great shot with 2 classic examples of diesel traction in a great location. All the entries this week were fabulous. I know there weren't many of them but they were all good.
I may have been slightly biased though with your pic because I just love the GNER livery.

I really didn't expect to win even with not many entries! :)
