Disclaimer: I did not notice that the two parts of the route I am suggesting have already been submitted as a suggestion by cadeshr6s as seperate routes: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...475-bonn-euskirchen-with-br-620-br-622.42150/ https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/erfttalbahn-kbs-475-euskirchen-bad-münstereifel-with-br-644.42153/ I also want to thank you, cadeshr6s, for correcting me on the rolling stock, as the BR 620 is the main one on this route and NOT the BR 622. ---------------------------------------- Hey everyone, today I want to suggest a new route - the German "Voreifelbahn" combined with the "Erfttalbahn". As this is my first suggestion,I tried to orientate on some existing suggestions I have seen in the past. Map of the route(s): Edit, forgot the source: https://www.vrs.de/lis/linie/de:vrs:1223 Description: On this picture, we can see two lines: S23: The S23, also called "Voreifelbahn" from Bonn to Euskirchen has a length of 34,2 km and a total of 14 stops. The line runs through more rural areas, as well as to Bonn HBF, the previous German capital city. The maximum allowed speed on this route is, in some parts, up to 110 km/h. Due to the recent flooding the route is just operated from Bonn to Rheinbach. RB23: As the S23 line most likely wouldn't be long enough on itself, I also suggest the small RB23 line from Euskirchen to Bad Münstereifel. This part (called "Erfttalbahn") adds an additional 14km and 6 stops, mostly single-railed. The maximum speed on this route is 60 km/h. Due to the already mentioned flooding this whole branch is currently not operated at all. Timetable: On working days, the S23 is active from 5 am to 8 pm, departing from Bonn HBF every 30 minutes. Between 7 am and 9 am, as well as between 3 pm and 6 pm there is a 15-minute-tact between Bonn and Rheinbach. The RB23 departs from Euskirchen once every 60 minutes. Note: As we don't have different days of the week in TSW 2 at the moment, the following part won't be possible most likely: On Sundays, both routes as a whole are operated in a 30 minute-tact (inside of 10 am to 5 pm, outside of those it is a 60 minute tact), meaning the train from Bonn HBF terminates in Euskirchen as S23, but continues on to Bad Münstereifel as RB23. Rolling Stock: The main rolling stock on the S23 is the BR 620 DMU, also known as "LINT 81" in "VAREO" livery: Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DBAG_620_010-8_1.JPG On the RB23, during working days, the "Talent 1" is operated in single/double traction depending on the time of day: Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bahnhof_Bad_Muenstereifel.JPG Images: Bonn HBF: Sources: (1) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bonn_Hauptbahnhof.jpg (2) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bonn_Hbf_Halle.jpg Euskirchen: Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Eu_bahnhof_richtung_satvey.jpg Bonn Duisdorf station: Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Haltepunkt_Bonn_Duisdorf.jpg Note: There has been a recent agreement to expand and electrify (no clue if that is the right english word in this context?) the whole route.and increase the tact from 30 up to 20 minutes for the whole day and from 15 to 10 minutes during the mentioned times of high activity.
