Yeah, I too would love to hear a clear word regarding the 187. A bit more transparency regarding that one would be much appreciated. As the OP asked: WIll there be a patch or wont there be a patch?
https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...tor-2022-train-sim-world-2-differences.48778/ Developer is looking at an update
Hiya, yes there will be ongoing fixes for the 187. I have looked into different threads involving the issues around the BR187 and recorded them. We are currently looking at options for sound on the 187 as well as other known issues.
If you manage to fix the loco - sounds and bugs - here's a new customer for you buying that and getting a lot keener on buying your other content. Good luck.
That's good to see it is being looked at. I'm interested in the loco but the fixed edition. Will the sounds be addressed?
I hope that the 187 gets a sound update without this update, the 187 is just an optically beautiful piece without a nice sound.
skyhook- sean it's nice that you are finally fixing the inaccurate sounds, it seems you guys are finally redeeming yourselves as a TSW2 developer.
To me personally the most important fix is the AFB fix. Second one is the LZB and PZB fix. I personally can deal with the sounds for a time since I am on PC and use a mod for that.
I agree with this. I dont really care about the sound but gameplay. IMO, At the moment its unplayable until these things are fixed
Please up the sound to the same quality as the visuals and I will be happy to buy this loco then It does come with RailDriver support, doesn't it?
Current customer who has it sitting idly waiting for LZB and AFB fixes. Would be great if we can get it soon-ish.
Likewise Sean. I have every German loco bar this due to the sounds and functionality. I’ll be honest I even left alone in the steam sale for that reason. If they’re sorted my wallet will creak open.
I'm the same on this one. I'd really like to own this DLC but I'm not touching it until the various basic functions are sorted and the sounds. The basic headlight settings are not even correct.
Unfunctional AFB and LZB is a bigger issue than the sound right now, in my opinion. At least the sound is improved with irFlouz's mod on PC, but as it stands the loco is not worth attempting to use with safety systems turned on and only Skyhook can rectify this.
Sounds I can live with, but the issues with LZB etc are whats preventing me from opening my wallet and supporting you guys.
I still have my BR187 silently waiting. This response gave me some hope. I have never refunded it as I put much faith in developers. Hopefully the fix comes soon.
Just to add my agreement to the previous posts, sounds are great, but if the loco itself is still broken, the sound is not much use. I really want this loco, but I won't buy it when the features I like to use are broken. It's the only DLC I don't own.
+1 from me. When I first learned of the sounds, I was still willing to put up with that if the other features of the loco convinced me. It’s the broken AFB and LZB, the issue with PZB, and the wrong headlight configuration that put me off buying the 187.
I’ll not go on criticising. No use for that. Sean, you and your team, just do you best. I can handle the PZB/LZB but the AFB is tricky. So if you eventually fix that, the other fixes will be a bonus. As far as I can see, you did a great route and other stuff, so with the support of Adam’s preservation team, you will make it. But it’s hard to wait. Success in these issues will gain a lot of fans. Including me!
In a train simulation product, it simply is not acceptable that one is unable to operate the locomotive effectively with the safety systems active. Personally speaking, I will not purchase any more content developed by Skyhook Games based on this (very negative) experience.
I get how you feel but given that the DB1442 has broken PBZ and it's incapable of being used correctly, does this mean you won't be buying any more content made by them as well?
It is true that Dovetail Games are culpable for some of these very same issues that form the basis of the feedback provided to Skyhook Games in this thread. Whilst I do feel disheartened given the delays with DTG's pres crew update release schedule and a culmination of recent impediments does lead me to question how much more money I should invest in this franchise, for the most part, I generally have had a positive experience with content developed by Dovetail Games and intend to maintain my loyal support to the TSW brand.
His conclusion about not buying anything from them might be excessive, but he's absolutely right, inability to use safety systems is game breaking, in case DTG (as a company) sees it differently then Matt has his answer on why a decent number of people consider this a game and not a simulator. The RT BR1442 and BR187 are both equally broken, together with SMH, NEC is not that far off. The fact that they fixed the PZB in the Talent (I assume) a while ago and wasn't considered of the utmost importance to release it as soon as possible is again another demonstration of how little DTG as a company (not any single person working there) cares about people that treat this game as a more serious simulation, I wouldn't be surprised if less than 50% of the total playerbase bothers with safety systems. Which is contradictory given how much Matt cared when the HHL PZB was completely and utterly broken, I wonder what's the difference between that and the BR187/BR1442/SMH.
simply is not acceptable that one is unable to operate the locomotive effectively with the safety systems active. Your words not mine, you're sounding more than a little hypocritical
I wouldnt consider SMH as broken in general. It has performance problems which can be evaded for PC with ini-settings and the safety systems are a problem, but that doesnt change the fact Sherman Hill is playable. Same for NEC.
How do you play realistically without CSS or the HUD? NEC is better, but not sure if it's good enough, I still need to learn more about ATC and ACSES
Again: Broken does mean that you cant complete a service. And that is not the case in Sherman Hill. What you are talking about is "destroyed game experience" which essentially means that you can play the game, but bugs and glitches destroy the joy of the experience. Also: Sherman Hill can be played without the HUD completely fine without safety systems on. All you need to do is to drive the train normally. Boston Sprinter is a bit of a different thing since you can encounter red signal bugs which are indeed game-breaking.
I always thought the bar should be raised. "You can complete a service" is not good enough, but I admit that's my opinion, and I presented it as fact, sorry, but if the bar is that low, then why was the HHL PZB issue so important compared to those? Wasn't that fixed ASAP? Yes, you can play SMH hudless, and succeed, just like you could in a german route without PZB, but you still would not have a realistic experience, even more so when talking about a system like CSS which should always be active (instead of PZB). If DTG expects this game to be taken seriously from a realistic standpoint they need to focus on these areas more. SMH's release wasn't any better than HHL's from a safety system point of view, and the current state of the BR1442 and BR187 isn't far off from the broken HHL either. Also sorry for being so salty, but this topic in particular frustrates me greatly.
