Xbox Liveries Wiped After Update

Most of my liveries have been removed after i updated, not all of them have disappeared, even the ones i posted on cc are gone, even though they are still posted, i hope this gets fixed soon

 

Yep 90% of mine have gone aswell

 

I didn’t get a chance to see but I did open the game, hopefully they can be brought back as I have 150 liveries that could be gone

 

Testing what's that?....DTG test anything you got to be kidding right.

 

No they don’t. It’s painfully obvious, despite claims to the contrary.

 

Maybe pull the patch because it's prompting me to update. Players with automatic updating turned on who don't browse these forums are going to lose their liveries.

 

My advice: don't launch the game until this is sorted.

It's possible that after the mess is cleared up you can download your own liveries back from the cloud. Or, it's entirely possible, your livery files are intact and it's just the links to them which have been broken.

 

XBox doesn't save locally to your HD???? Wow, you really are in a world of hurt. At least I know I have backups of everything at my knee.

Removed inappropriate language - DTG Natster

 

Imagine any other company that operated this way...By waiting until someone reports a problem to then fix it,because testing to much of a hassle.

 

Thank you, hopefully you understand how frustrating it is for me (and I'm guessing other people that use the LD regularly), and maybe you can forgive some of my messages.

I appreciate your reply even at this time of day, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a fix to be found. In my case simply being able to download back the liveries that were up on CC would be the bare minimum I guess.

I guess you better than other community managers can understand the amount of time and effort it goes into making liveries.




If these liveries were to be lost forever I am going to be gutted.

 

I have possibly hundreds of hours of work in the LD that could of been erased in a snap, I’m not going to risk testing I’m just praying I’ll get them back

 

I came to the conclusion that we are the QA for the game, its no longer funny its not one or two minor issues that misses QA its huge problems, I think they have lost control over TSW2 in terms of quality

Very sorry about everything you guys have to go through, but I'm wondering, does it only affect your created and published liveries, or does it also affect liveries you got from others on CC?

 

Here's another advice "DON'T UPDATE THE GAME RIGHT AWAY!" Am on Playstation I lost my most hard worked on livery. Weird thing is it's the only livery that was rejected in CC. I have 2 other liveries from CC that were still up and still showing .

 

Unfortunately, this is not of any use for us on the console.

 

I also discovered the problem yesterday. First I didn't read the warning message in the DTL news box on PS4, so I wondered because about 6 or 7 custom liveries dissapered from my console (probably the ones I uploaded to CC). Then I reloaded the UGC backup files from the PSN cloud and startet the game again and all my 73 custom liveries were back again (there are only total 73, because I'm allready at the PS4 layer limit, so I'm used to caution and backup regularly).
But yesterday of all things I started a new one on console and luckily I uploaded it to CC just in time before it went offline. So as I checked my PS4 today, the freshly made livery from yesterday is gone without backing it up. What a mess, but it must be still secured on the CC server. To fix the problem it would really be an advantage for creators to download their uploaded content from the CC server again.
Although I'm here in the Xbox fraction, the livery transfer from PS4 to PS5 or from console to PC and vice versa is also still difficult, by changing the PSN or DTL account. Just downloading without changing the account from one system to another would be so much easier.

Nevertheles let's celebrate the 5th anniversary of TSW!

 

I wonder how long it will be before more news on a fix on this problem as I've now no touched the game for 2 days as DTG said don't play yesterday. Even more as new DLC has been released that people can't play as they be told not to play

 

Yes the Xbox does save to your HD.

 

The Xbox does actually save to the HD/SSD!

 

But the save is constantly updated, and the cloud save is automatically synced every time you close an application, there is no way to roll back to an older save (or a way to easily back up your save)

 

Well 90% of my liveries I can’t upload because they are based off of real life railroads that aren’t allowed, so there goes that

 

And a lot of them I haven’t bothered uploading because someone else made them and I didn’t want to copy them

 

I can only recommend every console player to avoid TSW until the problem is fixed. I just looked again and my 73 liveries have already shrunk back to 65 without having done anything. So rather wait and drink a sup of tea or coffee.

So there will be no more exploration of New York City on the console today. Hopefully things will go well again until it's Switzerland's turn.

 

You could sign out and sign in to another Xbox profile before opening the game. I have that option but am not in a rush to play it.

I think I’m gonna stay away from TSW until there’s hopefully a way to get the liveries back, guess Harlem line will have to wait

 

I've just checked the game for the first time since I played yesterday after the update ( before it was found to be even more broken than it was) and checked my liveries. Checking for the 101 DMU livery I did it's gone but the counter in the bottom left corner is saying Total Reskins 6/300 so it looks like they're there but the update has broken the links!

 

I wouldn't judge so harshly, we're all just people trying to master technology perfectly and mistakes can always happen. Also, there are a lot worse things going on in the world right now, that can really make you angry. I guess all uploaded liveries are still on the server, assigned to each user who uploaded them. The main problem is that the online connection with CC somehow overwrote the UGC files of each user and the result is lost of original LD files. Of course many of us put a lot of effort and time into it. Re-downloading is better than nothing and hopefully in the future such mistakes can be eliminated and CC can be made better.

Did I mention that it's still a beta?

 

It's actually been said by DTG themselves on this forum that it ISN'T still a Beta. What we've got is the end product!

 

So I've done a bit of exploring since starting the game and further to the DTG article and my previous post on this thread I have found that despite DTG saying we won't be able to use liveries or scenarios downloaded from creators club they're wrong. Whilst the scenarios I've subbed to are no longer showing, the liveries are still there and selectable. Also a livery that I did on the 101DMU is no longer showing in livery creator (as mentioned in my previous post) it is still selectable to drive on GWE. Haven't checked NTP or TVL at this point but suspect it may be the same for those two routes!

 

Sorry if I post a reply just for this - but I want to say that I'm sorry for some of my replies above, I admit I there have been other problems apart from TSW, so it wasn't the best of timings for this story to happen. Now that everything is back to normal I can see I got all angry for nothing... yes maybe my TGV livieries are gone but it's just 2 liveries instead of the tens that I've uploaded in the CC.

For DTG and the community managers, I get mistakes can happen, your answer was faultless, answering to my first reply within a few minutes even despite the time of day, and trying to fix the issue ASAP. Thank you, and sorry.

 

Well I appreciate that DTG is working hard to fix the issue, but it does take patience on both ends. At least they theoretically shouldn’t be gone forever, guess I’ll stick with TS until it’s safe

 

so it still not safe to start the game ?

 

DTG Natster after the update the two TGV liveries that were deleted from CC are still missing, I take that means they are gone for good. Is that correct? Or do I have to wait until CC is back up?

 

DTG Natster Is the patch available now on all platforms?

Could you please confirm the version / build number that we should have, so that we know that we have the latest "safe" version to launch?

 

My xbox says 1.1.10723.0 with UpdateDate 18.03.22 at 16.55.
I guess this should be it...

 

I am afraid to launch TSW2 to see my Lyria and InOui liveries gone. But I'm kind of expecting it at this point.
