Whether it works or not is rather random, although your odds are better on an empty route like SPG or CCS compared to busy routes like DRA or London-Brighton. I always make the attempt to restore a save- sometimes it works.
I have been running train 512 on HSC, empty hoppers. I saved the scenario about midway between the curve and MG. Have actually resumed it twice secondary to confusion on signals approaching Cresson MO interlock where the train crosses from main 2 to 3. Looking at the map there are 3 trains in front of me when I resume. I was able to make it all the way to Johnstown without a signal issue. Fixed, who the H... knows, but this time it worked.

This week's patch on the Epic games version fixed the problem I was having, I can now load saved games on HSC and OSD. DW
