Chapter 3, Scenario 3, Express Freight: Northampton - Edge Hill At 4 different arbitrary locations after the stop in the yard, but before reaching the 15mph zone and signal (roughly 1 mile stretch of 20mph track) I've failed the scenario for passing a signal at danger. There are no signals on my line, in the map, alongside the track, or in the heads up display. After passing the signal for your first stop in the yard, the heads up display shows a green signal at or very near to the 15mph zone, I just got within 200yds before having this happen again so couldn't quite tell you yet.
Having exactly the same issue. Tried contacting the signalman but proceed as indicated. No visible sign of signal. Haven't checked rear of train to see if signal set to danger before train has passed yet.
Lots of people reporting this issue and other random SPADs when not near a signal. It is probably an AI train passing a signal at danger somewhere on the route that is ending the services. I think some stopping markers are too close to signals and AI trains will trip a signal before stopping on the mark but that is just a guess on my part. I’ve certainly seen the countdown distance to signals being less than the countdown to the stopping point on parts of the route. Players can stop short but AI trains might not. That’s my guess on what is causing this.
I have not been able to get to the main line with any service that starts at Basford hall, I'll try & get a screenshot of the derailment I get at 5mph! You would think the train was going 200mph
I have the same problem. Since this happened in tunnel I thought, that TSW glitched and thought I SPADed with one of the red lights on track above...
That video would have been really useful the first day running these lol. I've had some gnarly derailments with bare minimum (11-13% combo) braking. I've found feathering helps a lot too. I did try leaving the large ejector open at least 50% so the steam brakes of the engine can't engage as harshly as the vacuum brakes of the cars, it works if you're lazy.
I've managed to complete this one today but had to use a workaround. After you reach the stop marker at the signal, stay there for about ten minutes before moving again. After 10 mins have passed, you should be able to carry on as normal. Bit of a roundabout way I know, but it worked for me!
Got the same issue. After the first stop, signal clears, proceed past it and then a little further ahead it gives a SPAD. The express train also derails quite easily with small amount of brakes.
I'll do some work today on PC with the console enabler to find our exactly which AI service is passing a red. It could be that the dispatcher is changing priorities right as a train is just about to pass a signal.
I can travel farther if I ignore the speed limits and go as fast as possible towards the main line (making the first stop of course). Inevitably however, I still get the random SPAD. I tried waiting 10 minutes at the first stop marker but eventually got a SPAD while stopped. I hope there's a fix soon. I've been enjoying running steam.
When I was hunting for the AI that caused the SPAD, about 1 in 10 goes it got a green signal to exit the turntable, might just have been luck.
