I don't think so. There are some services that the devs consider too short or easy to be worth more than a bronze or a silver. I believe U876C "Runaround at Yoder" is a max silver for similar reasons.
I've wanted to get gold on every scenario, but there is just the odd one (like this) that - no matter what you do - you still don't get it. Loading coal in this scenario is already more of a pain in the ask, that other coal scenarios, so I would have thought I deserved the gold for all the LOVE I had to go through. These scenarios that don't reward sitting there for an hour at a time, really need fixing. Yeah, I'm p*ssed.
It is possible but a pain. #1 After you load the coal, disconnect all of the cars behind you. #2 Then move the train back and forth, not passing any lights until you have enough points to make gold. #3 Then a) if desired re-connect to the cars that you disconnected b) OR stop and move forward until step 3. #3 Then stop at the final location
trpted This really works? But how many points do you need to get Gold? Edit: Gave it a try and two hours later and with a little more than 3.000 points I achieved Gold. So, I drove at least 3 times back and forth on the main track, bouncing between the signals.
Yes, it worked as I see your edit. To find out you need to see look for the service. As how to do that will depend on the version used. For TSW2 after selecting the route, select explore. From there, either select Scenario or Time Table. For Time Table(s), select a train. Then either browse or use the search function. For TSW3 and TSW4. From main menu: To The Trains -> Choose a Route -> then Timetable or Scenario -> Select the Train as need be (ex Timetable). Then either browse or use the search function. Perhaps fixed in a more update version? For example while TSW2 it will not issue gold without that trick, maybe it would issue gold without that trick on TSW3 or TSW4?
