This is an endless spiral that scares away even more customers, eventually the remaining customers will have to pay 46€, then 56€ and so on per DLC. In the end, only hardcore fans are left who buy everything anyway, no matter how inferior the DLC is. Then DTG can declare bankruptcy, all because they were too lazy or too greedy. Are the fish sims just as bad?

Possibly. I guess it depends on personal taste, maybe German players are less critical - who knows? Some of the criticisms on steam where the dlc is rated "mostly negative" are a bit OTT; the can't get in cab door only really applies if you do the unrealistic getting out at stations and running around malarkey, whilst comparing the route with Paddington to Reading for the HST is not really fair. This route has several major junctions preventing the HST from powering up as often and running at top speed the entire way.

I know the more complex the route with more overlays, then the more likely I am to buy it, bugs and all as long as they are minor and will likely get patched. Perhaps if there was competition to DTG in the market then things would be easier, but as they're the only show in town we don't have a lot of choice do we? Might as well make the most of it and look for the positives which far outweigh the negatives. It does NOT deserve "mostly negative reviews" imo.

SIM Rail is supposedly getting raildriver support soon. If/when that happens the biggest stumbling block for me is removed and I'll be dipping my toe in for that.

EN57 might tempt me back in, even multiplayer (I still remember the old MS-DOS "Mechanik") and of course if they sort out SP and provide a save game/checkpoint...

It's a good simulator, but aside from driving backwards and forwards across Poland there isn't a lot to do yet. For example no scenarios. Give it time and maybe it will get more interesting. It needs new countries and rolling stock too.

When the poor outweighs the good, the good doesn’t matter anymore. You could have the best looking car ever built, but if the overall quality is poor and you can’t drive it reliably, what is the point?

You can’t defend the indefensible. You would definitely make a good Ambassador if that’s your ambition. I’ve praised DTG where praise is due, but you cannot deny quality has nose dived lately.

Within a few hours they acknowledged the bug and said they had fixed it and that it would come in the next patch.
4 weeks later, thanks to DTG's obscure communication we know nothing about that patch or their reasons for withholding it. They are the ones who have absolute control over updates and decide when to release them.

Instead, this week we have received updates for Sherman Hill, Cajon Pass, sd40-2 from New Journeys, Acela and Boston-Providence and we don't know what they fix (or mess up, as is often the case) because there is no note about it.

Yes, I believe as already stated in this thread that there is a serious communication problem and lately everything seems quite chaotic.

This language is so funny considering the topic is literally a video game for ages 8 and up.

You go on cosplaying as a general going to war or whatever it is you're doing, I'll continue playing a video game I think is cool and gives me hours of enjoyment.

Hello everyone, I want to jump in here and share the message I added to another thread.

If you haven't already seen it too, Jane the CTO at Skyhook Games has left a comment regarding the release of Midland Main Line.

From us at Dovetail, we are happy to hear that some of you have been vocal in your excitement for the route, and since installing it you are enjoying Class 158, the new sounds, and the runs you've had across Midland Main Line so far, but we hear the feedback and know there are several areas of improvement.

I've seen multiple comments in this thread asking why doesn't Dovetail compile a list of all the various issues on Midland Main Line, and that's exactly what we've been working on since the release yesterday using the feedback raised across all of our social channels, the forums and from our ambassadors/beta testers.

We are doing our best to gather all the information we can and will be working closely with Skyhook to deliver them a comprehensive list of all the issues you are facing. Once this is with them, we will be addressing as much as we can to improve the overall experience of the route.

For those of you who are running into any problems that you've not yet seen mentioned, please post about it in the Technical Reports section on the forums.

We understand the love this community has for this route, the Class 158 and the Class 43 HST, and we are committed to delivering the best experience we can. You will hear an update from us on the status of a patch for Midland Main Line the moment we have more information, until then thank you for your patience.

I’m not cosplaying anything. I know this product can be so much better - even DTG and Skyhook recognise that. If you’re satisfied with the way things are, great for you. I’m seeing missed opportunities, frustrating errors and a real risk that things are going backwards not forwards. I’ve always said I love TSW. If I didn’t, I’d have moved on long ago. It’s the fact I love TSW that I want better. There is nothing wrong in that desire.

Indeed. The question surely is, who the heck is driving?

    That’s good to hear Alex.

I wish you’d do the same with Rivet and correct their appalling mess of their fantasy offerings on the WCL. It is an embarrassment to the Cornish residents that live on the route.

I'd love to share my thoughts, but having installed MML yesterday TSW3 crashed 6 times, sometimes when loading the route, sometimes when loading the game.
Seeing as no one else has mentioned this I assume it's my Xbox One S that's the issue...

  18. I haven't had too many issues on PC with MML and I think people are just more or less offended rather than anything else.

There seems to be a vocal minority that are intent on destroying the only train simulator that actually works. None of them can state a competitor that has actually a product with similar value and opportunities.

To be honest I think it is mainly emotive venting.

Also international currency has been like a roller coaster and inflation is crazy.

So the price rises may not be what you think.

Right now as we speak DTG has stated they are intent on fixing the snowballing issues.

    One is train dispatching-pathing etc.

However, I enjoy this game/simulator so much I actually don't find the small bugs problematic.

When I go to TSC (I love Berlin Wittenberg route and GEML) I find the interaction in cab for turning headlights on etc and other things not so good.

Having experimented with 3d modelling and route making myself in TSC I have nothing but respect and admiration for the DTG team that consistently put in a great effort for making a much improved product and listening to the many fault reports and complaints of customers.

I guess if I had a local line I would be able to see the 'limitations', but a review on the MML on youtube has certainly given it a great rating. And I didn't try to find the most favourable review either.
