To cut in the brakes, go to the screen above the windshield, zoom in so you can see it, then navigate though the buttons to bring up the screen which shows the brakes, press it to cut them in and exit. You have to remember this is an American locomotive in a British body so the controls are more closely related to a US loco than a British one.

Why? Every other 66 service you get in and take them off right away. But this one is different. Why? Annoying

It is because SHGs is trying to give the most realistic experience possible and having the brakes cut out is normal when a locomotive like this is not manned, just like you have to insert the reverser when you begin.

Can't answer why the others have their brakes cut in other then it was who wrote this particular run decided no to do it.

Jane, if anything, what the controls in that 66 should be when starting are reverser centered and out and the field switch off. Usually the brakes are cut in if the train is in the middle of a run. The first 2 I mentioned are what we call here in the US 3 step protection. Let me add, this would all depend on the situation, if the driver was just waiting for a proceed signal and was the same individual who was running the train, than everything would be on. Whereas, if the driver was taking over from another driver, than the cab would be Safed.

3 step would usually include also both the independent and automatic brakes fully engaged and, as Sharon mentioned, gen field off, reverser centered and brakes cut out.

Some railroads might not follow these steps exactly, but the FRA has rules that cover unmanned locomotives, including " blue flag " rules to protect hostlers and others working around locos and cars.

I don't know to what extent these rules or similar procedures would apply to, say, a UK Class 59 or 66, but I would think that these locos should be immobilized for startup in TSW.

Also i noticed the rail operator group services also. Some services were ready to go. But then i got to ones, master key on, took off brakes and thought i could move.

Then i noticed the engine was off, see trying to figure out what to do to start it was annoying. Was it brakes on a little, or full, reverser in forward or natural.

    Eventually figured it out.

Every other service the train was ready to go. For example.on south eastern high speed the train engine was always on.

So was mml rog services, well some of them, till i got to some that was off.

Either 1 or the other not both. Very confusing. And it would be helpful if we actually knew start up procedure also for noobies.

Independent, yes; automatic, no. Not when it takes 20 minutes or more to recharge them

Any idea on the release date of this update please?

Also, is there a list of hot-fixes to be issued in this patch?

Sorry to say this, but it is not for you to decide if someone should be offended or not by something you say. This has nothing to do with "weakness", but with respecting other people.
Your post has been edited to not further derail this thread from it's intended purpose.

As a separate note, it isn't acceptable to publicly display private communications from our forums. Not only is it a breach of privacy, it's also completely derailed this thread's purpose.

Hi Marc, I’m trying to find your scenario. I’m on Xbox series x but when I search Duff to Nottingham there are no results. Am I missing something ? (Sorry, I’ve not used the scenario items before). Thank you

Aaron and his group have done a ton of tidying up on the PIS displays, including more realistic size and font (as has been requested here)

Yeah, I just want to echo this comment.

The reason why I am pleased with your DLC is due to the fact you actually work to please your audience and improve your content, even after a technically 'forced' release date.

DTG don't even communicate with the audience unless it's to moderate or to get assistance from other users for a future product. There is generally no after sales support from the creator, unless it's passed to the pres crew (if they are still called that).

Appreciate your efforts Jane and Skyhook.

I genuinely appreciate you (and others here) Alex, as you patiently and consistently provide quality feedback. As you have seen from patch 1, we take that feedback on board and act on it wherever possible. So you are appreciated too.

I agree about those driver assist messages, but would think that is DTG not SHG.

The service I did on MML was a set of 66’s so two I guess.. my comment was more toward the driver assist pop up would be present unless of coarse the notifications were off as per a few other comments mentioned

I think you have to do brake fixes in both loco's cabs. Not sure if you've done this already..

jane-skyhook did you get your audio team to fix how long the train sounds stay on for when passing me (stationary) and the rattling of the rails. Happy to elaborate as I feel it is something that can be implemented, to allow the extension of the train sounds as it passes.

Also, the rub sounds on the 158 when moving would work well for the HST. The HST's are heavy vehicles, so I'd feel their motion sounds would be far louder.

Is there a way to get the driver to signal back when using the guards panel?

Also, I can't sit in the 2nd mans seat of the 158 when in motion. You can in the HST however?

The Speedo and brake guage dials don't work on AI 158's and also, is there a reason why there's no brake rub sounds applied, especially seen as these are AP sourced sounds?

Any possibility of sticking the 8f,4f, Jubilee AI services on the upper railway bridge above Loughborough? Would be pretty cool, to represent the Great Central Railway basically.

Beeston has 2 identical signs saying Tickets, possibly the bottom one should say 'Way Out'?

The only issue with the Steamers is that in real life the Bridge isn't connected to anything.

I disagree with the idea but thanks for the reminder as I forgot to ask again about the bridge. So Jane, is there a chance the GCR's new MML bridge could be more accurately represented even if it isn't exactly the same as the actual one but a metal structure would be nice. No pressure for an answer as it was my fault for not remembering to ask you again all those pages ago! Wow just realised this thread has 46 pages too!
