Thanks! That's good to here, I wouldn't have expected it in the hotfix but very glad to here there are more scenery improvements to come. This route has very quickly become my 3rd most driven!

Ha, it's now blindingly obvious to me it's floating, so I've no idea how i didn't see that in the first place too.

jane-skyhook , what non priority fixes do you have planned for this latest release? I mean GSMR being implemented in the HST, is that being arranged? Also, are you implementing the guard system in the HST (like it operates on the 158)?

I have checked the sound distance from the GWE HST and the sound ambience lasts far longer after the train has passed, could those profiles be used for future implementation please?

Officially, it’s LFR (Left Rhine), actually. Don’t ask me why.

That was the background of the intended pun. If they push the "F" out of "LeFt" why not taking, say, the "I" out of "RhIne" (LIS), or the "C" out of "StreCke" (LRC). But now, is it Mainz - Koblenz (MZK) or Mainz - Koblenz (MKZ)? This is so messed up just like the whole DLC. Anyway, it´s so dumb that I refuse to use that acronym...

I have to say that I already enjoy driving the route after the first patch and that many small things have already been fixed. I'm happy about that, because the two vehicles on the track are still really great.

So thanks for all the effort to keep improving the DLC. I was rather disappointed at first, but now I'm positive about the future.

I enjoy the route too, visually it is one of the most interesting, the scenery is lovely, certainly want to travel to Germany to enjoy the real thing when I can. I also enjoy driving the older German trains. I certainly don't think the route is messed up. I am still getting used to German signalling and safety systems and still use the helper so maybe some issues don't affect me so much.

I think getting the route fixed is more of a priority than freight at the moment so far they've done a great job just waiting for the hotfix for more fixes

It is at the position where a main signal is hard to be seen.
Do revise a signal assisting it?

All installed along the line is without lights. The present situation is a decoration of the without lights.

I know I may be a bit late to the party on this one topic? I just have a lot going on, and sharing one PC makes it a bit harder / slows things down, but I figured I would put this here seeing that stevenwalker1985 posted in #2234 about having an issue with the class 66 on a timetable route, while I understand this thread is for MML -EMT. Also if I'm not mistaken he was able to get moving or figured it out?

I have been working with my daughter to get this edited and down to a reasonable size and for it to be of assistance on the question/issue that was experienced at the time the post was made for assistance.
I made this video to assist stevenwalker1985 and any and all that may need it, I did add several links to the video description that I believe are helpful and from whom I learned was is shown in the video.
Made a few mistaking in my wording and tried to correct them as best I could with my daughter's assistance.

If this post needs to be moved jane-skyhook by all means do so, so that it doesn't take away from the thread topic.

Yeah bud that was me that had the issue with that. Someone told me what to do.

The video will surely help someone else who is not sure.

    Cheers

    hey Gang,

Just to re-confirm for those who haven't spotted the post, our latest update is in the publishing pipeline, so dev has passed it on to start the journey to all of you. It should be with you soon.

I wanted to mention one thing for this update as people ask it a lot. I can confirm that there was a bug found with TPWS, which Tom and the DTG tech team resolved together. So TPWS activation in error should now start to be a thing of the past. The route is a lot more stable with this. Tom worked really hard on this (thank you Tom and team!).

I know I have said my thanks and you have probably passed it on already but this, for me is the biggest issue with the route currently and so to have this being resolved makes me so, so, so happy, so can you just once again pass my absolute best and biggest thanks to everyone (by the sounds of it Tom especially) who has been involved in getting the TPWS working right. You honestly don't know how happy it makes me reading the words, 'TPWS activation in error should now start to be a thing of the past'!

    Hi Hiromaru,
The signal you are referring to is what is known in the UK as a repeater signal. This shows the same aspect as the next signal on the line and works in tandem with it. The purpose of this repeater signal is to let the driver know what aspect the next signal is showing and it is used when the next signal's view is obstructed so the driver knows in advance what the next signal is showing. Repeater signals are white disc with a black horizontal bar when the main signal is Danger and a diagonal black bar when the main signal is at Clear. as in your picture. Hope this helps.

Pretty sure you got both aspects mixed up, I think a horizontal bar is supposed to indicate a danger signal.

This is a great reference site, though you do have to sift through a lot of obsolete signals from British railway history to find the ones in current use. At the linked page, scroll down to the bottom to see the current form of banner repeater signals, as represented on MML:

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

There's also a page of photos of banner repeaters found in the real world: https://www.railsigns.uk/photos/p_repsig1.html

  32. I have been enjoying MML since I saw the 'complaints' about it. About Day 7 after release?

I have been enjoying the route immensely and thank you for the fixes but I found the route to be great at release and probably didn't deserve those harsh criticisms.

I did see the passengers in the vestibule blocking the driver ROFL and yes it needed fixing but it really didn't matter a whole lot. I know its fixed now.

I did a scenario this morning, the 2nd last one. HST from Derby to Leicester. Non stop.

I am not sure there are any timetables HST like this so I might make a few. :):):)

Care about us guys that's a laugh, to me you and the rest [EDIT - Jan - Language] are all one click it seems to me that if someone needs help and they are a snobbish kind of person or they have got a higher education then the help comes forward. But to working class people or the lower class of scum like myself don't get the help. We are pushed a side and ignored or have been told by the higher up people to just ignore us and hopefully they might go away never to darken the forum again.

Apologies if this has been covered already, but I'm getting A LOT of game crashes. Like never before. I even had the PS5 not restart and have to auto-rebuild. There must be some epic holes in this code to cause the console to crash. Like writing over the OS from an array overflow or something. Shocking that it's crashing on nearly every run

I'm also on PS5 and it's the exact same, I haven't even bothered to play this route in about two months because it just always crashes. Then the first update came out, I tried a service and it crashed five minutes in. The last three services I've attempted have all crashed, and I've put the details in this thread.
I'm not touching this route until we're assured that the route is stable. It's all well and good having more services and improvements to the scenery etc, and I commend the work Skyhook have done, but the first update seemed to do NOTHING to fix the stability.

I agree. I would rather the basics are sorted then improvements added later. Just feels too much is being done at once. Still waiting for the hotfix for the hotfix. Again would rather the incorrect files from the first hotfix be released and then improvements added later.

AFAIK, one of the fixes that didn't make it into the PS5 build was the one to fix wonky art assets that were causing all platforms to crash. But it was the PS5 build specifically that didn't get that particular fix, though all platforms are missing some (mostly different) fixes.

I thought the hotfix to sort this out would have been released by now, especially since there was an update for a couple of DTG routes the other day (which apparently was not without its own troubles).

Ok a word on the hotfix everyone, based on the posts above.

The hotfix has already gone to publishing (some days ago). Unfortunately at Skyhook we have no say in the day the hotfix goes to Steam. DTG has to negotiate this with Steam and various other stakeholders to haggle for a slot. We are still hoping for it to reach you all this week. Being a hotfix, there was not a slot so one had to be negotiated from scratch. Everyone has been really good about it.

Normally slots are booked up MONTHS in advance and if you miss it, you can be some months before another comes free. (this is why people always ask me as a game dev why do things sometimes ship on Steam with a little more work left to do - talking general games here etc - the answer is we have a fixed slot set in stone by Steam and stakeholders, not the dev company)

We have "shipped" the hotfix out of Skyhook. It was also not delayed or held back for other things. We had the opportunity to add things based on the anticipated slot so took it, to give you guys more stuff along with the hotfix for the patch (this includes the PIS stuff I mentioned). If we had shipped out start of last week, the same slot would have been negotiated but less content as it would have been sat waiting for the slot. I hope that makes sense.

The long and the short is that we have no control of release to Steam. DTG kindly negotiate that for us with many stakeholders including Steam, licence holders and others. There is an army of admin and haggling to get a slot. Again, we are hoping for this week. So I am grateful that we actually managed to get some priority to jump the queue to get stuff out to you quickly.

I appreciate your patience. We want you to enjoy MML. As a train fan, I personally want you all to enjoy MML too.

    Jane

I held off on MML at first because of some of the reports, but after reading through this thread and seeing it is getting so much attention to fixing I decided to buy it and am enjoying it a lot so far! Thanks.

    Another missive from me ;)

We are aware of the problems with Playstation versions. There are stability fixes in the hotfix, but still more work to do. Currently myself or the SHG team are not directly responsible for the Playstation version, with DTG themselves doing the port of our PC version to Playstation5.

We are of course in constant communication (which is really good) and the console team are doing all they can to address concerns and I have seen some good stability fixes arriving. They are working very hard on this supported by us.

I mention this only to point out that I am very limited in what feedback I can give on playstation fixes, except what passes my desk as I am not leading the DTG console group obviously. I can tell you hand on heart though that the console group are working very hard alongside us to help stabilise the PS5 MML.

It is great to hear that you are enjoying it. Thank you for sharing that. I won't insult anyone's intelligence by pretending it was a smooth release, but I really feel MML is in a whole different place now, with more to come. I am really pleased with the route as it is now and excited personally for what we are going to showcase to you all very soon.

Thanks for the reply Jane, it would be so helpful if a DTG representative could at least have the decency to post in this thread and advise us (the eagerly anticipating audience) of a date for the release of your hotfix. I feel they have gotten their priorities wrong again and instead put all their eggs in one basket to promote their Northern route as money is more important than their reputation, which we have learnt to accept is the norm..

Not at all, I´d be honored! And pass my thanks to them. :)
