My daughter is working on making another shorter video that's essentially a continuation of the video I already posted, rather than make one extremely long video.

 

I was wondering if anyone from Skyhook will be providing a useful forum presence during Jane's absence?

 

Same can be said for the recent SEHS update which seems to of broken more than it changed

 

Love the 158 and 43 id love to hear station anounments example train arriving into platform 1 is the 735 to Derby something like that and luggage in the racks

 

If you heard what matt about this one service,which is just a single deport move and all other 158 services are just AI.

 

This may have been mentioned before… but I noticed a visual bug with HST that causes some immersion breaking.

The unit numbers on the power cars/coaches are all the same. Ie if it’s unit 43055, you see that number on the front power car, the rear power car, and all the coaches.

In reality the power cars are all separate units so the front and back one should have its own unit number. Also each coach would have its own number.

 

The reason for the power cars having the same number is the fact that EMT only had a certain amount of HST's available/rostered and 'in-game', they are covering for meridian services aswell. In regards to the coach numbers, I can't answer that.

 

Been known about since day one. There was a patch due to sort it but Dovetail decided to delay it so they could get their own stuff out.

 

After downloading Diesel Legends DLC I still do not see any extra static rolling stock around Derby depot.

Is this for PC only?. I belive British Ace was playing on PS5 when I saw it.

 

On PC I’ve seen it every time I’ve driven through and don’t own Diesel Legends. After the first patch I saw the GWE branded coach.

 

They are there for me on Xsx

 

Derby Etches park is populated for me by the ROG 37 and some stock from NTP. Have you got the NTP and ROG DLC? (I'm on Steam though).

Very odd. I'm on XSX and I have all UK DLC installed.

 

I used to think exactly like this thinking the problem is in testing.

However, then I brought Mainz - Koblenz

Now timetable is one thing but DTG had 3 journey mode services that you couldn't complete

You could finish one due to a red light at the end. You couldn't start another as red light straight away. The third was the best as you are sitting there wondering why the train wouldn't move before realising that they forgot to add the train engine at the other end of the train.

Now sorry but there is no way either Q&A or beta testers don't pick that up. Which says DTG know about the issue but release anyway and then just deploy JD to just spew BS at us when we complain

 

1 Service is Driveable only. Although there are AI 158 services. Pretty decent ones as well :P

The diesel legends pack does not add any additional layers to MML, I don't own the pack and I still get the Class 31 with MK2 coaches.

You need to own the Class 31 add on which requires Tees Valley Line, as for the MK2 coaches that should be from Northern Trans Pennine

My last resort is to uninstall everything and start again.
I play NTP and TVL with the 31 at least once a week so I have them routes but not showing in MML.
I've completed the class 45 rail tour and all.

 

I’m the same I get the railtour layer but no AI rolling stock from NTP or TVL. I’m on PS4

Just brought MML,I did google, but haven't trawled through this thread and rather than make a new topic I thought I'd ask here.....

The uncommanded emergency stop coming into, and just outside of Nottingham, just before line C, is due to being too quick for the upcoming 25 mph limit?, I'm playing with HUD and the upcoming speed limit is 50, so I am assuming being at 50 at the limit is too quick for the upcoming 25, so you get the emergency stop? I assume it's one of those "route knowledge" things?

So today DTG appear to have pushed the pre-Glossop patch (for everyone) and by all accounts fixed some of the issues on SEHS that last weeks update broke. Why couldn’t the MML patch have been pushed out in the same release ‘slot’?

What are we missing here?

 

Might have been only for Steam only? - No update or any fix for SEH on XBOX - PC or Console - At least for me.

 

I'm on xbox I haven't had an update for SEHS unless it comes at some point

 

I believe something has come as part of the Glossop pre-patch. My point is, if a patch has been pushed out today (which happens prior to every DLC release), why could the MML patch not have been bundled with it in the release slot?

 

Had some sort of update (1.45) on ps4 yesterday. No idea what for.

 

JD replied to me, apparently it’s just in preparation for Glossop.

 

So it had a release slot did it not? Just wondering what might have prevented the MML patch going out with it?

So, I bought the Somerset route and I’ve now tried your Scenario “Duff to Nottingham”.
Have to say a big well done to you Marc, it’s the most enjoyable run I’ve had on MML. It was great to see so many diesels on my travels. Looking forward to trying the Scottish Freight run next. Great job buddy.

Straightforward is ok, I’ve only recently started using the scenarios so it makes a nice change. I would definitely recommend everyone with MML to try the Duff route though, it’s really impressive, well done you buddy.

 

I totally agree,we was told the updates ready just adding extra bits but seems like it’s been an age pushing it through.
I’m sorry but how does anyone expect people to buy more routes if things need fixing…well I’m not going to it’s becoming a bit of a mess.

I've wondered about this kind of thing too, where some patches are waiting while others cut ahead in line. But I'd guess that Jane was only covering the tip of the iceberg in that couple of paragraphs of explanation the other day, and that they have other things to do than devote a whole day writing out the nuances.

It does seem like the waiting patches tend to be the big ones, while the small fixes get out quicker. So could size/bandwidth also be a factor?

 

our patch went to publishing some time ago. Unfortunately, as JD said, the patch was delayed by Dovetail until after the release of Glossop today. A couple of pages ago, JD kindly explained this and what was going on. Out of the hands of Skyhook unfortunately,

 

I have mostly lost interest because of all the delays. Just Trains MML (TS Classic) is more fun because it has lots of extensions, works well, has lots of relevant services and looks great. The moral of this story is, I think, as others have suggested, to pick up new routes at least 6 months post release in sales when the price is much lower and all the bugs have been fixed (at least those that are going to be fixed!) The current release/ test/ fix/ break/ fix again approach is a pretty good incentive to wait! That way you have all the latest releases, just 6 months later plus you spend less, pay what it is actually worth and experience less frustration!

 

Basically they are holding off so they don't have to make so many different builds prior to the big End of Summer Release.

To save them time. Just like the silence with updates before Rush Hour and TSW 3.

 

With all due respect DTG JD. Dtg have been very silent from the start. Its not just about the patches. Its about communication. There is a distinct lack of communication. Lack of progress etc. It really feels like bugger all is being done by Dtg. I know this isn't the case, but it feels that way. Dtg needs to change its approach to customer communications, and fast.

 

Ever since they cut their streaming down by 90% there has been such a lack of info on progress.

With the leisurely lets play streams Sam and Matt used to keep us up to date even if it wasn't what we wanted to hear.

We went from 2-3 streams a week to maybe 1 or 2 every 2-3 weeks.

The DTG release day streams used to very good as you would acknowledge the bugs on camera that came up and we actually knew what DTG were aware of. Now you don't do any.

Post on the forums and let us know, but the threads are always so full of toxic replies and bickering that it becomes depressing trying to weed through the garbage to what has actually been acknowledged. Information we used to get on the release day and lets play streams.

Also i thought the intention was to replace the lost streams with more feequent and in depth articles, what happened there. 1 Roadmap, and 1 release date announcement article and 1 day of release article is not what I was expecting. Pretty half baked in my opinion.

So gone are the days of TSW 2020 and TSW2's "look we are more engaged than ever with the community here at DTG, unlike we used to be". To back to the old hold everything close to the chest, keep everthing secret ways of the old DTG.

And yes Jan, Alex, JD, and Matt do engage on the forums, Matt maybe not as much as he used but with his executive position I'm sure he has less time to be able to. An that I understand.

But before Matt, Nat, Jamie, Sam and Adam were way more responsive on the forums than we see today.

Shyhook Jane is like what DTG uses to be in terms of activity and engagement.

And that is what I miss.

 

Yep I'm in total agreement. Jane has kept us all up-to-date pretty much every day and has taken our feedback on board. DTG are silent for weeks and only seem to respond with "This is why it's not our fault" posts.

 

But here the thing, it looks like DTG are trying to (intentionally or not) sabotage the hard work the Skyhook team have done to improve MML with the latest patch just sitting there.

 

It's unsurprising, really. The more open and frequent communication was mainly on account of Sam. With him gone - first from the role of community manager and now from DTG entirely - they're falling back into old habits, I reckon.

 

DTG JD So the company you represent screwed up a bug fix patch for SEHS (released last week), then reissue a patch (yesterday) to fix the bugs you had created. Surely this would have needed 'tine', like you had suggested above? Now you're telling us that these things need time to test etc? Something doesn't tie up.. Maybe you are being used as the scapegoat to feed us the typical BS because you have no intention of trying to talk to your consumers in an understanding way, you simply sound like an Oxford Graduate acting like you read from a script.

Give us news, let us know how testing is going. Stop being so reserved as I'm sick and tired of all of your behaviours at DTG.
