alarm? do you mean the whistle sound? that’s the noise of air whistling through the cab which happens when the train brakes or accelerates and does indeed happen irl

Isn't the car alarm sound something to do with the initial acceleration and braking resistance? Thankfully it cease at around 25 MPH on accelerating but there constantly on braking.

what car alarm sound? that ‘alarm’ like sound is the traction motors, surely you’ve atleast watched a video on a real 700 to compare?

But above 25 MPH they sound like a normal DC motor so obviously something in the control equipment is modulating the current to create that affect, likewise under braking.

Anyhow yes that's what they sound like IRL so as it should be in the sim. The root problem remains that the in cab sounds are too low compared to the rest of the sim environment and DTG are refusing to acknowledge this.

So the in cab alarm sound that goes off until about 30mph is actually the noise of the external motors being filtered into the cab, is that right. So it’s not an alarm as such, just a motor sound that reverberates into the cab until a certain speed ? If so, I think I get it now ! :)

the motor noise can still be heard after it changes pitch at around 28, but it’s just less noticeable. Technically the motors are audible in the cab until 100 but the running sound drowns them out

The cab ride video I post about earlier shows this. The ambient sounds from wind, wheels and cab noises completely override the motor sounds above about 30 mph.

    Overall impressed with the unit.
    Couple of audio issues/observations…

    1. Passenger door closure sound feels too loud when within cab and I don’t recall the sliding doors making such a vicious slam/clunk shut sound.

    2. In AC mode only, noticeable popping sound every 10 seconds or so when in cab.

    Xbox X.

I’m sure this has already been noted but rain is neither visible nor landing on the windscreen both when stationary and travelling below 10mph. Everything seems to work as advertised once in motion and above 10mph.

I have been playing the 700 more on scenario planning on the BML than on SEHS. Is just a a different experience playing the Bamal with the huge view in the cabI stops on station didn’t even know excited in the game.

Flashbacks to the RHTT tutorial, ignoring the entire RHTT procedure and only teaching us how to drive the 66.

I am use to playing HUD less on SEHS but add in the fog and I often found myself clueless as to where I was. You think you know a route!
Better refresh my route knowledge and also pay closer attention. Fog set to near maximum. At least the 700 has a great wide window view. Still great fun though.

Just noticed that if you drive at night all of the passengers are silhouettes inside the train. They’re just completely blacked out figures.

Yes playing HUDless is very immersion building and I would highly recommend everyone tries to learn at least one route as it really makes the experience 10x better.

I believe it’s because the intensity of the saloon lighting is too high. There’s a mod on TSC for it.

Agreed. But, considering the 700/0 does frequent quite a number of different services (see below), it would be nice to at least have some of these services added to the London Commuter timetable - at least until DTG can hopefully (fingers crossed) sort out the memory/optimisation of the route for a mostly full TL timetable eventually.

    - Brighton to Cambridge - 2tph - Class 700/1 - Goes via Quarry Line - In TSW, playable to East Croydon
    - Horsham to Peterborough - 2tph - Class 700/1 - Goes via Redhill Line - In TSW, playable between Three Bridges and East Croydon
    - Brighton to Bedford - 2tph - Class 700/0 and /1 - Goes via Quarry Line - In TSW, playable to East Croydon
    - Three Bridges to Bedford - 2tph - Class 700/0 (and /1?) - Goes via Redhill Line - In TSW, playable to East Croydon
    - East Grinstead to Bedford - Limited peak time-only - Class 700/1 - In TSW, playable between East Croydon and South Croydon
    - Littlehampton to Bedford - Was, until recently, a very limited peak time-only service - Class 700/1 - Went via Quarry Line - In TSW, playable between Preston Park and East Croydon
    - Gatwick to Bedford/Luton - Some peak time services start/terminate respectively - Class 700/0 and /1 - Goes via Redhill Line

I know that London Commuter is a memory-intense route, but I still don't understand why at least a partial TL timetable can't be added? Especially considering when SEHS now has so many different rolling stock - which I thought was the most critical factor rather than the amount of services when compared to London Commuter.

I am getting close to putting adding the 700 to LBN in my signature because after playing some of the scenarios available it has shown me how much it would add.
    Edit: I did it!

Agreed, honestly maybe getting rid of a layer or two (like the HST at clapham for example) for the 700 would be an idea to consider?

Yeah, agree about the HST. Regarding others, I actually think I'd much rather keep the Southeastern services (both playable and AI) instead of the freight services - then again, I'd rather hope DTG can sort optimisation and keep them all. :)

To be fair, it is the weekend. They aren't working.
But probably should have been a response on Thursday/Friday.

Well they were active late on Friday regarding the timetable nerf and Matt posted an extensive essay in the thread suggesting older consoles are ditched, yesterday afternoon. So don’t know why we haven’t at least had a nod to acknowledge the concerns. It’s labelled as a feedback thread but no indication any of it has been noted let alone going to be looked at for a patch.

I know it's a TON to sift through, but a compiled list from Jan like we had with PF would be great. Maybe even a new thread, due to how extensive this one is, starting with a post containing all issues logged. And then maybe locking this thread and redirecting to said new one.

After having driven some of the runs on BML, I also would like DTG to come up with a way to include the 700 on that line. I use a upscale PC, even if it's now 2.5 years old, can still handle all that TSW can throw at it with all settings at max.

Same here. I think there's a lot of us in that boat. Unfortunately, we'll just have to be patient, though, like yours, my PC, near top of the line 2 years ago, isn't getting any younger.

yeah i know, we pretty much all want an AC route for the 700, like the MML or ECML, so hopefully our time will come soon enough :)

you can put it on any route with wires really, so there’s plenty to choose from they’re just not prototypical

Well, you could make the argument that putting them on the training centre is sort of prototypical. The training centre is based on the testing facilities in Wegberg-Wildenrath in Germany. That's also where the Class 700 sets were tested before being delivered to Thameslink.

With talk of wanting the 700 on the BML, and the recent dual timetables on SEHS, how about an 'enhanced' timetable on BML that would include the 700. This would leave the regular timetable for systems which were unable to stand the extra trains.

I think the class 700/1 would be included in a London commuter remake!!
I really enjoy the class 700/0 on SEHS would also love to see It extended to London bridge!!

I wouldn't mind that but I think the Southeastern main line might be better as that part would have Charing Cross,Cannon Street. London Bridge,Everthing going to Orpington,Sevenoaks,Hayes, Dartford,Tonbridge,Hastings, Ashsford international. I think the southeastern mainline might be even busier than the BML. But before we get any of this I think we need an AC route for the 700 and 700/1
Actually I just made a suggestion for the SEML here's the link to the thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/southeastern-main-line-chatham-main-line.71731/

Well it goes off the map to make station stops, so no. It would be pointless to make those services playable.

Also applying power should be instant as soon as you use the PBC as they are very responsive trains, that is why you hear a little bit of the motor sound before the train starts moving and the brakes are still on. The same applies for running in AC.

The SEHS route in-game is all third-rail DC except for the HS-1 line
