There is too much coincidence already for all those rumours and leaks to line up so perfectly. The French article has predicted what was going to happen on certain dates. Epic is not some dodgy leak. It's a confirmation of stuff happening on dates predicted in that article. And listen very carefully? Can you hear the DTG TSW4 silence? It's deafening. It's almost like the admins are on vacation ... until some false rumour creeps up which might ruin the hype.
I mean I dont think DTG cares about silencing things - They never have silenced anything before unless its downright harmfull or whatever. Epic is only based in codewords - It could easily be some new expansion to TSW3 and the french and spanish site is definetly dodgy.
I didn't mean they silence someone. I mean the team has gone silent. Days of speculating about TSW4. People begging for an announcement that there will be an announcement. DTG provides an announcement adding even more fuel to the speculation because the dates align. Why would we need to download every route again or why does DTG think we have the money to buy all those files they have prepared to release. The French site was dodgy. Epic confirmed the site is legit
Well I guess we will see. Honestly aslong as TSW4 has all previous DLC port and a half decent british route so I can grab it Im fine.
At first I was excited, because I like games. And trains. And this does both very well ! But then I remembered that with TSW4, a lot of things would go missing that I just can not play without. The .ini file settings, various enhancement mods for routes and locos, godmode, and the new lighting. As excited as I am, I also know that it will take a few months at least before I get back into my old comfort of having all these mods working. And what's with the save game, what if we can't import it from TSW3 ? I don't want to start all over. And the achivements ? Sure, some got unlocked in TSW3 after the savegame carryover, but all collectable based ones didn't, for example. After all, I am more worried about the state of the new release as I am excited. But if it looks promising enough, I'll be excited again !
Honestly this is why I refused to go dependent on mods and buy everything. It leaves you in a state of paranoia whenever this happens. Most routes though are fine without mods so yeah dont worry about it, stick to the good routes for a little bit an its good.
Oh we all do, I can have a really good run that leaves me feeling warm and happy or come up against a stupid situation which has me rage quitting. IMHO these next three weeks are the time when the Ambassadors should be earning all that free software DTG have given them. They should be authorised and delegated to keep things calm, based on what can be openly spoken about, thus avoiding much of the more outrageous speculation. Otherwise, what is the point of them? And of course bearing in mind Ambassadors should also represent the views in the other direction, they should also be hammering on DTG's door, pointing out the disquiet that is now arising and looking for a course of action to keep it in check (other than closing the forums for three weeks..! ).
I don't think I would want to be an ambassador in a time like this. Everyone thinks you are already playing TSW4 when you are not streaming so everyone wants to know if it is any good
Well both the Epic database and the French leaker said August 22 for the preorder date. This Dovetail Direct event is on August 22 (where they said there is something "big" to be announced). Add in the fact that there's no August roadmap and there is definitely more evidence pointing towards TSW4 than not.
okay. "not really more variety" I am assuming you are not german because only german railfans would understand this. having an ICE 3 and an ICE 1 only is kinda boring, and more boring especially when there are routes where only one of them drives, currently KWG is the only route with both the first and third generation ICE driving around. an ICE 4 would be good for lots of routes since they are also everywhere IRL, and an ICE 3 Velaro D just can't be left out for its beautiful sound and the unique look (yes I know every ICE has its unique look but shut up for a sec). I don't know what your opinion is but my point stands for myself!
Why are those 2 ice units unnecessary? The icet for example is more appropriate for riesa dresden than the ice3 currently running it
As well as ECML South modern, I'd like to see a North American freight route (US or Canadian) with spectacular mountain passes. In TSC we have several and they all work very well. The gradients make for skillful driving especially with the extra control details we have, they are a challenge. The one that leaps out to me is Canadian Pacific in the Rocky Mountains as per Canadian Mountain Passes in TSC. I'd also like to see Oakville updated with passenger traffic as well, why did they leave that out? I think sometimes DTG can rush things in the desire to farm dlc too fast. Please complete each route with all possible operator and train types before moving on. Give us every possible layer so we can get proper immersion like the real thing, this is what simulation means. Another detail is if you watch those YouTube videos like Virtual Railfan, you see engines of multiple companies hauling manifests and not just regimented power units all the same, so you might see Norfolk Southern power sharing a manifest with Canadian National for example, it would be cool to replicate this.
We used to have this but it became too obsessive, and turned Sand Patch Grade into a Union Pacific route. Not to mention it also did really dumb substitutions like the Clinchfield SD40 or other SD40-2s (They are no longer road power in the modern era) Another issue is the fact that not every loco is built the same, and could cause issues with braking on a downhill slope. So you could theoretically spawn with a train that you can't stop on a downhill grade. It's why I hope DTG doesn't make any new modern US freight content until all of their and Skyhooks equipment is rebuilt and revised to 1 standard.
I agree, if that is the case, this is a good indicator to be either Metro North's New Haven line or Hudson Line as their total track distance comes in at around 73-75 miles according to track maps Then again, I vaguely recall back in one of the streams for TSW2, Matt mentioning of a potential Pacific Surfliner route possibly debuting at some point. It's hard to say what the US passenger route will be but either way, I think I will be satisfied with whatever happens hopefully
Ignoring a possible leak and clues, the Hudson Line looks very likely. M7 - ✓, M3 - ✓, CSX freight(AI-only) - ✓. P32AC-DM with coaches - the new one guy. Rolling Stock variety - ✓, Many possible services - ✓, enough route lenght - ✓. The only thing that can be bad is the environment made by DTG. If TSG were doing this route, I would have believed that it would turn out beautifully. DTG will make everything too simple and with a minimum of details. Which, in my opinion, is unacceptable for routes with beautiful natural environment.
If you ignore all the leaks and other stuff gained from various sources there is, for me at least, one big clue. Whenever there is a thread on this forum where there is speculation or excitement along come the DTG police and shut it down or sometimes they state that it isn't happening so quelling the rumours. So tell me why DTG hasn't said anything in this thread, at all? I would also ask if TSW4 is not happening why are they letting the thread continue are they that perverse? And if it is happening why not come out and confirm it and discuss it openly and get people on board. How many times in the past have DTG released DLC and the forum members have spotted something dodgy? Perhaps if they were to come clean another member might have an insight. Surely happy customers are better than angry ones no?
From what I gather DTG only lock speculation threads if either there completely misleading (like just directly saying route name coming out when) or if it goes off topic. If you provide some evidence from what I've gathered DTG don't actually care.
Why in the world would anyone be angry? We've pretty much been on starvation rations the last few months. Now we're looking forward to an avalanche of new stuff in Q3 and Q4. My Steam wallet is ready and waiting. There's no reason for DTG to comment in this thread. This is exactly what they want, players stoked for 8/22. Heck, I'm a little fired up myself! They got everyone excited by the DTG Direct announcement and gave the forum 3 weeks to build up the anticipation. The only problem for them is the risk of an anti climax.
Its why I hope it’s a free update unless DTG really has changed game performance/ mechanics or added new features for TSW4.

For the next few days I'm going to enjoy playing some BML ,Harlem and TSC ATS peterborough/Cambridge route and take a little break from the forums. Honestly I'm mostly excited for NYT new timetable which I figured a few months back would had kept be Busy for awhile . Unfortunately that didn't plan out. The 700/0 was good for a few days, but on the SEHS just doesn't do it justice. Hopefully we can see it and the bigger brother on an AC route soon

For TSC ATS you are referring to the Fen Line with ECML. That one needs to be Base route for UK TSW 4
After reading throughout the Forum and all the wild speculation around the Summer release, i wanna add my personal thoughts on this as well. After all the Informations i read, and considering that TSW3 was only released last year, i cant really see a completely new game being released in september, my bet is on a similar release to rush hour, with 3 routes (most likely one theme throughout those 3 Routes) and hopefully a big improvement update that comes with it. The Name simply is a Name, be it TSW4 or another one. At this point TSW is running on an 'outdated' engine and the community is asking for a TSW UE5 game since UE5 is released. And rightly so. But im pretty sure that would meant that they have to structure what's basically a complete new game. And maybe UE5 is a hood point to really start over again. We wont see that on Gen8s for sure, but its too early to dip them completely, yet. So this might be the last chapter of the UE4 TSW before they changing to UE5, a complete new game structure next year. It would then also be sensible to dip gen8s. So like i said, i bet its a rush hour release, and TSW will (hopefully) be reconstructed for next year.

Believe me, they have shut down threads for far less and imo the only reason why this thread has been left open is that it either suits DTG or if they did shut it down it would make them look foolish. Let's say TSW4 is not coming out, then would DTG want this thread shut down? imo yes as they would want people to concentrate on TSW3 and its DLC. Let's say TSW4 is coming out and it will be totally fresh so you will have to re-download all your DLC and pay for the upgrade to TSW4 for each of your routes? Would you be happy about that?
Let me explain the context.... You can say this is 100% sure the new things that coming and there is no other possibilities either... Or This is a possibility that the name is TSW4 but what do you think and give people space to have their own opinions right?!
DTG not closing or responding isn't anything new. Last year there was this thread that is still open and no reponses from DTG until they officially announced it so nothing new here.
