Xbox Series X Crashes

Thank you for the advice, but I'm sadly just not willing to do that now either. My patience with it has run out. I want to turn my xbox on, click on a game and just be able to play it, which I dont think is unreasonable.

I'm player level 874 so I've sunk many, many days of my life into the game, and I just don't want a fight everytime I want to play it

I appreciate what a massive game it is, and how complicated game development must be. I know DTG havent set out to have these issues, and I hope they do manage to get a fix out soon.

 

Any update from DTG on what’s happening?

Besides the instability of this game, other problems exist! in my case, despite the account transfer from TSW3 to TSW3 as indicated in your note, I only have 1 task resolved!!! others ? I absolutely have to start all over again!

Your buggy games are getting boring, including some bugs, present since at least TSW2!
at least come and give us some news. on this page, any progress? For some players, we are talking about a crazy amount (2000 euros from TSW 1 in my case). Just a little consideration for your buyers and players please.

otherwise ?@ offline method works better, for my case, despite jerks and 1 road which returned to the dashboard Xbox.

 

It's not just a simple click of a button.

They have to do a lot of testing first to ensure the fix doesn't accidentally break anything else.

 

Had my first offline crash on TSW 4 yesterday on ECML. However given that I’m on a Series S, it might be down to me picking the full timetable over the reduced one aha

And ?? I'm not stupid, and I know it's a little more complex than a simple button.

Hence, my initial question... that Dovetail Game provides news on this problem.... the payment for my purchase was made within the minute following the "click" of the button.

Buyer and player since TSW preview on Xbox... do I have the right to be a little unhappy to have dropped close to 2000 euros, only to end up with an unstable, even unplayable, game? I think so...

once again, as already said here, sometimes by other players, a real beta test period would have made it possible to identify this crash!

But it was more urgent to release TSW4 to bring in the money, than to carry out tests, with real players, in the conditions, players, with the Add ons... and not a test of TSW4, without the Add-on...

Day one... the game is dead with return Dashboard .... so good... lol

I noticed for my part, an Update this morning, of the TSW4 game on the X series... only base game, no DLC... the solution?? I'll try ..

Well here we are a week after going live and it’s a bit like having your front door key but the lock is jammed. What has actually happened here? What is causing the crashes that weren’t evident in pre release? Any idea when the bug is likely to be fixed? Let’s face it we have a game which has cost anything from £35-£65 plus all the dlc which, if you are a mug like me, would be over £350 worth, just sitting unable to be used because the startup sequence to the game isn’t doing what it is supposed to do.
Now unless, it’s quite possible, I’ve missed something, what are DTG doing to allow X Box users access to their game without having to go through a ball ache of walk round to play? Thought TSW4 was the beginning of new chapter. Still same old mistakes occurring, game seemingly not tested on the platform before release and if it was then who ignored the fact that X Box users can’t access their game? Honestly I can see why you aren’t going to continue fixing TSW3 / 2 / 2020 because the faults have carried over to TSW4! Come on DTG FOCUS. It’s not right you release a game in this state, it shows no respect for people who purchase your content and I’m now starting to think so posters on other threads might be right when they describe DTG treating us as walking wallets who will bug test the game for them after they have taken our money. In no other consumer led company would this be acceptable so why is DTG any different. I paid but since launch I can’t play. Is that right? Hope you put all your efforts into releasing an urgent patch otherwise I can see a lot of customers rolling back to TSW 3 and demanding a refund.

I'm just going to say no news is good news. Meaning DTG are working to fix this problem, which would explain their silence.

The update doesn't fix the crashing, as it's just the latest patches for content that is also available for PC and PlayStation.

As per the roadmap stream last night, the earliest we can expect a fix to the crashing problem would be early next week, and that is best case scenario, so we're looking at at least two weeks with a completely unplayable game, as DTG seem to be ignoring the fact that their offline fix is useless for those of us that don't have their console set as their home console, for one reason or another.

 

and yes. For Dovetail Game, the money coming in remains more important than fixing bugs, episode after episode, and catastrophic releases of their game.

TSW4 is another good example of DTG priority... (1 game every year practically, expensive Add Ons, unrepaired bugs)... If again, behind all that, DTG was a little grateful to its customers/players. But unfortunately this is not the case. no compensation for the inconvenience.

Until now I supported DTG, being a customer since Train Sim World preview on console! But now it's over. This will be the last TSW!! the next one will be purchased on sale, 1 year minimum after its release... Dovetail Game, don't count on me, on us, to pre-order your games!! And please, take console players into your groups, who will stay at home, playing the game, with all the conditions of a REAL player.

There are several of us who are Xbox insiders! including me. it would be wise to choose players, who test in real conditions, of everyday life...

 

soooo.... TSW crashed and its completely frozen my xbox, i cant even turn it off....just putting this out as a warning, this is beyond a joke now i hope a fix is soon as now i cant play for the fear of it breaking my console. and heck im on a series x, ive had it a year and this has never happened

 

What‘s really funny here is that given DTGs track record with messing things up, people still defend this utter incompetence. “A fix is not so simple”. It’s their core business people!
Others still express their hope of this company delivering a fix for something that should have worked from the get go!
We‘ve had problems with TSW2020, we‘ve had them with TSW2 where DTG definitely underdelivered, TSW3 span life is way too short simply because the game caused too many problems. Evidence is in the forums! Or did we forget?!
And enter TSW4. The question every one needs to ask is: “Are we really surprised!?” It’s almost a comedy were it not that people paid for this game. So here’s a prediction: a fix will be released, new problems will arise, some new fixes will cause new problems. DTG will announce dish out new dlc and TSW5. It’s a too familiar cycle. It’s a shame.
I really like this game series. But again DTG’s company strategy’ policy is the problem. And their new one is ignore customers. If you ignore them problems don’t exist.

 

The latest Forza Motorsport was released today, I played a little while I was home for lunch. I don't know how Turn 10 and Playground did it, but somehow they added this cool thing where I don't need to disconnect my Xbox from the network in order to start the game! It was amazing! 2023 and they already have that kind of tech!

DTG, you guys should really have your people call Playground's people to see about adding that feature into your future releases. Maybe offer it as a "Game Loads the Way it Should" Season Pass?

Yep. NY - Trenton extended time table causes massive stutters and Out Of Memory crashes for me as well on the series X.

 

I have created a ticket for this, and the suggestion was to lower from 4K to HD. To no effect, as it still causes Out Of Memory crashes.

 

Same issue here. Uninstalled NYT until it gets fixed (or maybe if).

an update of the base game took place a few minutes ago (only a few MB)... I reassure you right away... the game still crashes... we're tired of taking customers for idiots!

 

I summarize for my case!

- the game crashes. if you want to play you have to do something which is not 100% reliable since even when you do the internet disconnection, the game crashes from time to time.

- many bugs from the previous ones are still not fixed. - (Linke Rheinstrecke, mission Red Rhine, the windshield wiper does not work, impossible to turn on, Rhein Ruhr Osten, mission the distributor, the poles are right in the middle of the railway track!! I still have lots of examples!! )

- when the game works, creators club does not work!!! a message stating that an item is missing, no matter what type of content I want to download!!! over 1000 decorations, on the creators club, and always the same message

- mastery and mastery reward... reset!! I had unlocked around ten, or more, mastery rewards... my counter was reset to zero, I have nothing left and I have to redo all the tasks!!

I summarize.... TSW4 catastrophic and botched launch! after a large sum of money dropped on DTG, this TSW4 makes me understand the politics that drive DTG.... money... and no, passion as often said... This will be my last Train Sim World. I really feel wronged!

Dovetail Game.... we expect the same enthusiasm, to solve your problems, that you have before each game release! Hours of videos, communications to sell your games....

DTG where are you??? do you know we paid? a game that doesn't work!!?? is this normal? No !!

That's concerning to hear, was this while your Xbox was offline/home console to play TSW? If so, I might play something else until DTG sorts this frustrating issue.

The core update today is also part of this patch.

 

They still didnt patched this particular issue... The xbox crash and NYT crash are still pending... To clarify DTG jan DTG Alex can you confirm that XBOX crash and NYT crash+no npc are not yet adressed in last patches?

 

yes switched to offline, then back online once loaded in, did a service crashed to desktop then that happened

 

Roadmap stream confirmed no crash fix until early next week at the earliest, the base game update was just the core patch already released to PC and PlayStation.

So, over 2 weeks we'll have been left with this unplayable expensive mess of a launch, good job I have other games to play, made by actual competent developers.

 

Does early next week mean between Monday and Wednesday?

If so, good news for me, I won't even be able to play any games due to work.

 

So I kept crashing on some services especially starting out at Penn station. I removed the LIRR Layer and Now was able to start that service at least. Will let you know as I try the other services.
This is on Xbox series X.Also you have to make sure you are offline.

 

I can get the game to load on Xbox perhaps one out of every seven attempts, every other time it won't get past the splash screen and crashes back to the dashboard. When it does load, it crashes often and regularly refuses to save progress in a scenario. The crashes in-game seem to take any other apps in quick resume with them.

This is very frustrating, particularly because when the game does load I enjoy playing it. It is very, very annoying that DTG have shipped what is a patently defective product, it is not acceptable. I realise it will be patched, and that is welcome, but the game should not have been released in this state because it goes beyond any minor bug which can be dismissed as an annoyance, but rather a complete inability to actually use the product that customers have paid for.

I am acutely aware of how difficult it is to build games of this complexity, I still do not think that is acceptable.

 

unfortunately, DTG does not have the same vision as us...customers/players... For them, only the business, the money coming in, counts!

Otherwise, DTG would be committed to respecting players by carrying out real beta tests upstream, and correcting the bugs present since previous TSWs.

No, the most important thing is to sell, sell, sell... I wonder about the philosophy of DTG's "enthusiasts"... everything suggests that they are more concerned with making money.

When you think about it.... 15 days of unplayable game, paid. And no compensation will be offered on Xbox days! Funny mentality...

 

We should all contact video game magazines to tell them about Dovetail Game's policy and its games that don't work, or are ultra bugs

 

This should be obvious, but money is their main goal. They wouldn't be able to develop TSW if they didn't have any.

Do you think that video game publishers like it when people talk about them with negative articles? no, I don't think so... I'll say it again... I'm the first to like TSW! I left more than 2000 euros since the preview of Train Sim World on Xbox! But apart from the never-solved bugs, this time, the "money" side with the release of TSW4 barely 1 year old TSW3, unplayable, is too much.

The respect for customers/players is not there at all! given the day one disaster, there was definitely a big testing problem upstream.... What was the testing protocol? they had requested Xbox players for their test.

We see that these tests are carried out on the base game.... and not in the player's situation at home, with the DLCs from the previous ones!! otherwise, they would have noticed a problem as soon as the game started! But it doesn't matter... the players will buy... we don't care if he can't play... the money will be his, goes into the coffers... I think I'm not the only one to be disappointed with this kind of mentality! Like the feeling of being taken for a donkey!

I understand that and get your point, but at the end of the day, the customer will probably be laughed at for buying a product that was obviously faulty.

 

Ironically this whole situation made me realised I don't really need DTGs live conent... Game runs smoother and faster without it. And because freight cars livery are to be eternally broken I lost total interest in customising the game... Good bye DTG live?

Same for me playing on XBox S. Prior to the update I experienced a few crashes on loading but since the update it is much, much worse.
