Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 2100 UTC on Friday, March 1st 2024 and will be judged by me - Blazin In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 1700 UTC Sunday, February March 3rd, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. Theme for this week : Rail vs Other Forms of Transport Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish. Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.
Train or car, your choice? Sadly the car option is not available until delivered to the dealer by rail. Loco:- OBB 1063, 3DZUG Laaers Car Transport Wagons Route:- Tirol: Brenner - Kufstein
An Austrian sunrise over two options of travel, train or car. May have to wait a while for the car option as it is still in transit. Loco:- OBB 1063, 3DZUG Laaers Car Transport Wagons Route:- Tirol: Brenner - Kufstein
Transport in many guises, from bus, to car, to boat, to train, and even a plane, Stranraer is the place to be if you need to get somewhere. Loco:- BMG Stanier Black 5 with AP Coaches. Route:- Western Lines of Scotland - The Port Road (AP Weather & Clouds)
Due to weekend engineering works, a fleet of Rail Replacement Service buses line up outside Warrington Bank Quay to whisk the many fair paying passengers to their destinations. This sight can be seen on the majority of weekends LOL.
Route: Wakayama & Sakurai Lines Train: JNR Class 103 Everyone has to wait for the transport with higher priority.
Route: Koln-Koblenz Train: Vr DB BR 189 Expect your car delivery soon, which is being delivered by the most eco-friendly transport in the world.
Route: North Wales Coastal(TFW) Train: Class 158 I guess the highway is so devoid of traffic because of the railway line.
Car or Train? at least you don't have to contend with the German Police following you if you take the train. (Virtual Railroads Expert Line BR189 with 3DZUG coaches on the AP Weather enhanced Koblenz - Trier Route)
Holy mollerino, these shots are dark. I mean mine of course. Two locos (SD40-2 and DD35) on trucks hauling trucks on trailers, raced by a road truck to Soldier Summit.
A scene from the Northeast Corridor - with a Vermonter to New York Penn, pulled by a - then - new ACS-64, passing under two very American designs. Thanks to my deep love of ER (part nostalgia, part bonding, long live Dr Carter and may the soul of Dr Greene fly happy somewhere over the rainbow in Hawaii), I can read it's US Mail but all I see is an ambulance.
Bring me more - Said the truckers in Portsmouth. I suppose normally that is addressed to the shipyard folks, but this time, it was DB Schenker getting the message.
Which would you prefer to captain, a large container ship towards Wanchester on the Manchester ship canal or a pair of 20`s down the WCML towards Warrington Bank Quay
Thank you everyone for your submissions this week! There are some great shots in this weeks selections; at first I was worried there wouldn't be that many to judge so I am very happy and grateful to see that last minute rush of submissions! Anyay let's get on with the results. In 3rd place is paulc, walking is an impractical but funny way to interpret this weeks theme and I got a good chuckle from this and the angle of the shot is awesome. Definitely feels like waiting at red signals can take ages sometimes... In 2nd place is triznya.andras; I really like the angle and composition here of the road vehicles on the bridge and the Amtrak passenger train rushing past underneath! Also it's a great looking winter shot in my opinion, something hard to achieve. In 1st place is cscarpenter! What an absolute nailing of this weeks theme with an amazing looking screenshot; practically every major type of transport is shown here. To begin with there is transport by rail through the train of course and road by the nearby bus and parked cars. The bus looks like it's racing the train as they depart from the station; definitely a strong "vs" feeling there and even the two competitive billboards next to eachother both advertising rail and road transport! And then of course there is the sea, with many boats around! The air part is also nailed with a plane flying above the station and even some birds on the left. Perfect winner for me, ticks all boxes!! Well done cscarpenter with your amazing screenshot; I am excited to see the theme you choose for week 10!
Happy to amuse you, one of my aims in life is to raise a smile wherever I can! Thanks for the podium & congratulations to triznya.andras & cscarpenter! I look forward to next weeks comp
Cheers Blazin much appreciated, I have always had a soft spot for Stranraer Harbour on that route, it has been modelled superbly with high quality assets. Must admit I really enjoyed this weeks theme, made for some tremendous contributions all round, well done to all. Week 10 is up and running with the theme "Spring Has Sprung" Hope you have fun. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-competition-2024-week-10.79358/
Well done to all, great shots all round. Can't argue much about the choice of the winner, had that down as a fully nailed on selection as soon as I saw it, brilliant capture.
