No I do not have RWE I never even heard of it
That is great northern. Not BNSF. Great northern is a defunct fallen flag and therefore cannot be legally put under license restrictions “In the case of a merged or purchased railway, the new owner sometimes tries to enforce the trademarks of the old name to collect royalties. However, this violates trademark law, which requires that owners actively use marks for them to remain protected and not fall into the public domain.” - Wikipedia article on Fallen flags.

Yeah he seems to think that he can tell people if their entry is allowed or not. I did (falsely) point out that Slender's picture had RW enhancer, but that was only once. This guy claims that Marias Pass isn't allowed because it's "BNSF content," however there isn't any BNSF logos in the shot, so it really shouldn't be a problem.

    Hey folks,

So many amazing entries, thanks to everyone who took part. I know there's been a couple of questions about the BNSF rule which I'll deal with below but fiiiiiiirst...

Congratulations to Chuntley for his fantastic shot of the Riviera Line in the 50s, keep an eye out for it on your loading screens:

    TS19_ScreenshotContest.jpg

A new contest has just kicked off here with the theme of Freestyle - capture what you want but make it cracking! Find it here.

So regarding the rule above about BNSF content: the issue we have here is certain licenses we're only allowed to promote in certain territories - for example the Marias Pass product is not available to users outside of the USA. Examples like this are extremely limited, and after taking a look at the problem were advised that putting in a rule about BNSF seemed to be the least limiting way to handle things.

This felt better than expecting people to check if their route was globally available before posting - but it's causing some understandable confusion here. The list is a little long to post on every thread so I've made a small locked post in this forum section listing the content that we cannot accept. If it's on the list, please don't use it. If it's not on the list, go right ahead!

Hopefully in the future we'll bring all these products back into the global fold and this rule can be removed :)

    Best of luck,
    Martin
