    Next report :)

This signal is there in the files, but the path is wrong (RailNetwork\ is missing here)

Fixed these two issues as described above. Change line 458123 in tracks.xml to include the RailNetwork\ path and copy the bridge bin and add a "2" at the end. This usually happens if you are duplicating bins but don't change the internal asset name in the bin. The editor will only show one - but which one is used is "random". In that case the developer doesn't see an error, but the players will.

Note that rectifying the file path in tracks.bin doesn't break compatibility, as it's not affecting the network at all, only visuals. I could resume my savegame after editing the files without issues.

Just to let you know that if you are installing the route from scratch you will need to install each Phase one by one, including any subsequent patches/fixes , and also run the bat files which accompany the downloads...it is a bit of a chore I'm afraid, but is the only way to install some of the reskins created in the past by Nick and also assets which creators allowed us to bundle.....although I think that Wotawally may have put together a single download which should cover everything on his site.

Andy, this refers to the full standalone download from Wotawally. Just showing what's missing in the package and how to fix it. :)

Ahhh ok, looks as though he missed a couple of things in his package then - I am trying to keep things much simpler for future Phases, but I appreciate that it can be a bit daunting for new downloaders of the route....

question, why is there now a password whenever i tried accessing the route's website? And what is the password exactly?

Maybe the route will find a wider audience if mirrored on trainsimcommunity.com?

Freeware should not be locked behind passwords, but be accessible for everyone imho.

Coming along steadily, I am working on the scenery between Prescot and Eccleston Park....lots of housing estates to complete so it is slow going placing each house in it's exact location. I will post some more screenshots once this area is fully completed. The section between Prescot and Wigan is heavily built up in places, and modelling St. Helens as it was in the 1980s will be slow going, so realistically there is several month's worth of work to complete this Phase.

Scenery now completed between Prescot and Eccleston Park, some screenshots available on Flickr ( last page ) - flic.kr/s/aHsmU4sBon

Steve has also been busy sorting out track between St Helens Junction and St. Helens which will be included in this Phase.

    Hi,

Im just doing a clean install but I am having a mare with missing assets on this route. I have had a read of the manual and followed the process and requirements but I am still missing a chunk of assets. Is there still a copy of the all in one installation available to share as previously mentioned in the past?

    Cheers

    Jon

Hi Jon - unfortunately not, this was on the Wotawally host site which closed. As long as you have re-installed the dependency routes and all of the asset packs ( don't forget to run the .bat files ) you should not be missing anything....

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for your time in replying to my message. I have installed the dependency routes and the UKTS files too. I have only come across one bat file that was in the version 4 folder. Is there more than one bat file I need to use? This list of missing assets I get from the TS Tools report come back with 86. They are Keith Ross lights for NWC Crewe Station signs and SLANC5 with a load of Crewe XY bin files I haven't got. Let me know if these are not a big deal and also if I have missed running another bat file within what I have downloaded off backdatedsim.

    Cheers

    Jon

    Hi Jon,

Another question...are you running the legacy version of NWC or the currently available version of NWC? The route is not fully compatible with the current NWC version....you can still run it but there will be some assets missing especially around Crewe. Also, don't forget that you need to have our NWC BR Blue route installed. If you have downloaded everything from Backdated Trainsim then you should have all bat files, just check the ReadMe's to be sure.

    Hi Andy,

I am using the current version of the NWC. I haven't downloaded NWC BR Blue route, where can I download this from?

    Cheers

    Hi Jon,

That will be a problem then unfortunately as the route is not compatible with the later NWC version....we did try to make it compatible but it through up errors all across the route. This should only be a major issue around Crewe though, there will be a few random assets missing elsewhere but should not spoil the appearance too much. On later Phases I have tried not to use assets from NWC, but an odd one might have slipped through.

    Regards,

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

That's understandable, at least it can be drivable. I have only driven this route around Liverpool, Manchester and Wigan. I fancied to explore further until I saw milk bottles at Crewe Station below the Crewe sign on the platforms. I was wondering also where can I download the NWC BR Blue route is it on steam or on a 3rd party website?

    Many thanks

    Jon

    Hi Jon,
The NWC BR Blue routed used to be on Backdated Trainsim but seems to have been taken down.....but it is also only compatible with the legacy version of NWC unfortunately. I do have all of the files but it will not work with your version of NWC.

Edit - some hope though, I have just been speaking to somebody who has offered to help with making the route compatible with the current NWC version...fingers crossed.

    Regards,

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Yeah no worries, thank you for looking into this for me. That sounds promising, we will wait and see what happens.

    Cheers

Ok, we have managed to convert the files used by NWC-BR Blue so that this route is compatible with the latest DTG North Wales Coast route - see separate post on this site with download details. We will shortly be releasing a version of South Lancs & North Cheshire which has similar modifications so that the route will be compatible with DTG's latest North Wales Coast route, but NWC BR-Blue will need to be download and installed first.
