Fixed these two issues as described above. Change line 458123 in tracks.xml to include the RailNetwork\ path and copy the bridge bin and add a "2" at the end. This usually happens if you are duplicating bins but don't change the internal asset name in the bin. The editor will only show one - but which one is used is "random". In that case the developer doesn't see an error, but the players will. Note that rectifying the file path in tracks.bin doesn't break compatibility, as it's not affecting the network at all, only visuals. I could resume my savegame after editing the files without issues.
Just to let you know that if you are installing the route from scratch you will need to install each Phase one by one, including any subsequent patches/fixes , and also run the bat files which accompany the downloads...it is a bit of a chore I'm afraid, but is the only way to install some of the reskins created in the past by Nick and also assets which creators allowed us to bundle.....although I think that Wotawally may have put together a single download which should cover everything on his site. Andy
Andy, this refers to the full standalone download from Wotawally. Just showing what's missing in the package and how to fix it.
Ahhh ok, looks as though he missed a couple of things in his package then - I am trying to keep things much simpler for future Phases, but I appreciate that it can be a bit daunting for new downloaders of the route.... Andy
question, why is there now a password whenever i tried accessing the route's website? And what is the password exactly?
Maybe the route will find a wider audience if mirrored on trainsimcommunity.com? Freeware should not be locked behind passwords, but be accessible for everyone imho.
One of the host sites ( Wotawallysbits ) was closed suddenly and not expected to be back online - the route, and all patches, are still available on https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/south-lancashire--north-cheshire.html Andy
Coming along steadily, I am working on the scenery between Prescot and Eccleston Park....lots of housing estates to complete so it is slow going placing each house in it's exact location. I will post some more screenshots once this area is fully completed. The section between Prescot and Wigan is heavily built up in places, and modelling St. Helens as it was in the 1980s will be slow going, so realistically there is several month's worth of work to complete this Phase. Andy
Scenery now completed between Prescot and Eccleston Park, some screenshots available on Flickr ( last page ) - flic.kr/s/aHsmU4sBon Steve has also been busy sorting out track between St Helens Junction and St. Helens which will be included in this Phase. Andy
