You need to enable off the rails mode to get them to become available.

That's because trainsimcommunity have temporarily pulled all mods that have not been updated for 4.26. Until the mod has been updated it won't be...
One more thing that this also alters that may cause problems for people, myself included, is that it means the layer usage info in Livery Designer...

As long as the mod has been updated to work with the new 4.26 update then yes they will work with the Epic version.
It's something you probably wouldn't notice without knowing about it but I had a walk around the loco after installing the mod and the dead bugs...
