It was modified after release of Mannheim-Kaiserslautern so it could run on German voltage, so it's possible now.

The service count is connected to the profile you use. Did you import the right TSW4 profile to TSW5? And do you have all relevant DLC installed?

You should be glad that anything is improved with these old routes at all. Most older routes get no second look.
