There’s one or two Cab Ride YouTubers who add interesting annotations in a chyron: speed changes and historical tidbits. I also just came across...
There’s also an interesting thread over on the Dark Side (!), where a driver gave critiques of simmers’ driving:...
Yes, I’d completely overlooked the fact that the scenario was associated with the weather pack, thinking it was a Class 319 scenario. If I’d...
Partly, as well, we have so much choice and can readily flit between class and route, between rural and urban, at a whim. In real life we’d be...
I have a query about the 323 - unlike other trains, it seems unable to coast an at even speed when you power off - it immediately starts losing...
Which begs the obvious question as to why TOCs don't correct them - after all, late trains based on these timetables impact on performance ratings...
Yes, that is a good one, Peter. I think that was one of my first times using TS Tools to stick in an AP train too!
Will do that with the 323 ones. I had got in the habit of saving before a station to avoid the issue of the mysterious X appearing on the task...
I just reopened an already started scenario on the Birmingham Cross City, and like I've seen on other occasions, on rejoining an already started...
Well, just ten minutes after I sent the images to AP, I received a reply pointing out that it didn't look like I had installed the latest version...
Thanks, Craigie, for this. I have checked, and all these files are present and correct. I have been asked by AP to supply some screenshots and...
Is that the new one out? Haven't seen that yet. How do you know it's straight to 8? The golden rule is always drive according to your...
The bottom three look fine. I notice the pixelation more on the first image, but it could well be to do with the sim/monitor resolution: looking...
One thing I would like to have a stab at, time permitting, is the signalling simulator Sim Sig: https://www.simsig.co.uk/ There are some free...
If you think how much it would cost to build a model railway: even a locomotive now is a couple of hundred or so!
Yes, they are fine for seeing the route, signalling, etc, but I always wish you could see the handling of the main controls too.
That would be much appreciated. Many can be seduced by point chasing, and trying to hit some crazy timetables in some of the scenarios!
Hi there, it would certainly be interesting to see even a short video of a driver even on a short route explaining what (s)he is doing, to learn...
It’s been interesting to see videos by YouTuber ‘DadRail’, where he has had a go at simulators such as TSW, Open BVE and ‘TS Classic’....
Presumably all the gamey graphics stuff can be turned off? I had a look at a TSW video last night, and all these things appearing would drive me...
You’ll find a lot here: http://ftp.sasolchevron.com/page/Glossary A lot of these have standard meanings: D - driving M - motor O - open C -...
I’m tempted to try Open BVE sometine
These are my settings. Don't know if that's optimal or not. [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Just seems bizarre that the page doesn't mention reskins: Scenario Requirements Please note that these items are only required if you would like...
I’ll have to check. Last time I altered the setting was for the AP Sky and Weather pack, iirc.
The plot thickens! I've just been trying another AP Class 319 scenario on the same route, and lo and behold a complete AP 387 passes! [ATTACH]...
Came across this one: [MEDIA]
Some videos of it here: [MEDIA] [MEDIA] [MEDIA] [MEDIA] [MEDIA]
I was sorely tempted by a pop up ad on the Steam client for Lawnmower Simulator. But the price of £20+ plus the short routes was a deal breaker...
I only started with TS2021 last December. I have recollection of seeing a brief video (ad?) of a previous sim about a decade previously and wasn’t...
I had read - and have seen myself - that when you clear it, you don’t get a full repopulation of your lists. I have had to quit TS and reopen to...
Trainsimplayer, it almost sounds like you had a ‘bad experience’ with some pro train! I’m inclined to agree to just untick and uninstall, as you...
I don’t need to cap mine at 40, as it very rarely goes above that :)
Looking great! It’ll be starring on Saint Alan’s Twitch in no time :)
It’s something I’ve seen before on a number of occasions. It always seems to be a multiple unit, and in this case I guess I was determined to find...
No problem, thanks for helping anyway. I’ll email the Great Purveyor himself and see if AP can help!
Yes, did it again just now - this screenshots were from the latest try just now. You're right, clearing the cach did nothing.
Afternoon, Peter, and thanks for your continued help in trying to sort this for me. I've managed to load and Quick Drive the Thameslink Class 387...
Looking at cab rides on YouTube, I see there's a decent Inverness to Aberdeen one uploaded last summer: [MEDIA]
The Class 319 has quite a melifluous soud to its horn as it approaches a station here: [MEDIA] At about 5:55 the driver toots the horn to alert...
Does it actually make any improvements though?
That pack also includes one of my favourite scenarios - a Class 73 parcels train on Chatham. Really tests your skill with the 73’s tap changer,...
If you like shunting, there's a good Class 09 scenario ('Night Shunter') included in this pack:...
That’s why it’s safer to stick to good ol’ BR Blue and Grey, you can’t go wrong! :)
Such a shame it needs both the £30 Stainmore and an ATS subware route. Will have to wait till the next sale!
Why does that loco have metal bars over the windows? Does it pass near falling rocks, or..?
I’ve never purchased anything from them, so won’t be on their mailing list. I’ll see if I can sign up without a purchase.
Shame not alway in practice, though. Was recently on a route where rusty old steam locos were parked up together in an old siding: each and every...
Thanks for the replies. I’ll look out for a future sale mentioned on the Latest Sale thread. There’s mention of an issue of mineral wagons not...
To add to what Peter said above, improved protection in terms of fencing means less need (hopefully!) to use the horn.
