All the people really clever people who have spent 20 years building PCs who don't think back up is important, are now all the ones who are...
If you want to discuss the merits, or not, of needing to back up, make a thread about it instead of derailing this one, which has nothing to do...
I'm speechless. This is like saying "My car is new, it will never break down, and I will never crash it". Are you actually saying that you feel...
I'm sorry, but not backing up your computer is inviting problems, and not just with Train Sim either. It baffles me that people don't back up...
I' Even so.. even if Monday wasn't a holiday here, there would have only been 2 working days since launch.
What is it with people acting so entitled recently? :) The update was launched Saturday... Monday was a public holiday here in the UK....
See here.... https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/menu-crash-after-update-27-04-23.69718/ and here.......
Not so. All the help you can shake a stick at is right there in the other threads. There are solutions to almost all the issues caused by the...
This is why then. It's hardly a fault of the forum. If I use Firefox in private mode, it asks me to accept cookies each time. The same if I log...
No... lost nothing here. Just the image thumbnail issue.
I just have the front forum page bookmarked. Straight in... no problem. Just bookmark the page.
They are all on the first page of both General and Technical Support forums. Do you expect us all to retype everything we've been discussing for...
There are already so many threads on this, it would be better to just read the existing ones rather than make a new one.
Are you using the experimental DX12 version? If you are... don't, it's broken. Use the standard 64bit version. As the other routes you mention...
Not had an issue with loco files. I've been through every page in every menu and nothing is wrong. In the Standard menu, there are 42 pages, and...
The only issue was with the image thumbnails, and so far as I could tell, it was only third party ones, not DTG ones.
Ahh... that makes sense. There you go 749006 Peter :)
I just moved d3d9.dll from my Railworks folder, and the game still ran. Interestingly though, it ran without Reshade, which I have set to run on...
Someone, or something has renamed them with .old at the end, which is what you would normally do to retain your original before installing a file...
How weird. I'm not at the gaming PC right not, but tomorrow I will move the .dll and see if mine still runs.
They are in the Railworks folder, so looks like the ones you have renamed could be the originals.
The main github page with the latest version has links to the previous ones.
I am referring to you suggesting that DTG include Vulkan, as you said it would be good for everyone... which it wouldn't. A clean install, while...
I don't see why that would be a problem. I use RWEnhancer Pro and Reshade together, and all the shaders in RWE2 are identical to RWEnhancer...
You have a 8 core/16 thread CPU, and TSC is essentially a single core game. The one core that's doing all the heavy lifting will be maxed out. As...
Well... that would make the game worthless for me then, as I have the entire AP catalogue, and a great many JT products, as well as most ATS...
Did you get it up and running?
Anyone else who using the Vulkan API/DXVK since the update? The sim just refuses to load for me. I get the small TSC logo appear for 2 seconds,...
I can confirm. Have you raised this with ATS? I just mailed them (support portal is down).
https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/menu-crash-after-update-27-04-23.69718/ Lots of good info in here. Basically, it's the thumbnail image...
I just noticed that the Vulkan API no longer works on the new 64bit update. Anyone else having the same issue?
When installing, select Direct X 9, and point it towards your railworks64.exe. Select all shaders to install (they're only small) so you can then...
I only did the ones on the page(s) that caused the crash. In my case, it was just one page, so 9 files in total. You will probably be in a...
https://www.windowscentral.com/what-directx-why-does-matter-gaming Basically, DX12 is the newest version, and train simulator is currently a DX9...
It's working OK here... no pauses or stuttering... well, no more than I usually get.
Yes. This is the fix. I did this with all routes on any menu pages that caused the freeze, and now everything is working fine.
If people just did what many of us recommend... all the time, and have a back up of the Railworks folder, you could just roll back to the previous...
Not here no. Are you referring to the DX12 update, or just generally? The DX12 version performs very badly, but the standard DX9 update (now I...
Delete (after backin up) all DX9 DLL files from the Railworks folder, then run in DX12 again... worked for me... but performance is poor.
Yeah, DX12 isn't really working yet. It was experimental after all, but it's just unplayable here.
I just resaved all the "image.png" route files from the routes on the page that freezes, and saved over the originals with no compression, and all...
Initially wouldn't work, but then deleted all DX9 DLLs, and now it works, but the frame rates are diabolical... to the point where the game can't...
OK.... menu freeze issue fixed here. Basically... just loaded in all thumbnails from routes on the frozen page into Photoshop. Made sure they...
Thanks. I'll take a look at that in a bit.
[ATTACH] What if you do not have that route? I don't have it. Never heard of it :)
It seems to make absolutely no difference to anything... at all. If it was being converted to DX12, then the GPU should be reporting it's using...
Same here. It's just using DX9 as normal.
So why ..... It may well just be that one route. If you are having no other problems I would refrain from spreading doom and gloom just yet.
I had no intention of moaning LOL. I read the DTG releases :)
Not unless you can choose what type of compression it uses. I forget what type was causing the issue now, but someone posted about it in either...
