Well, I’ve had another go with the 200psi approach as described by lcyrrjp. Don’t think it went too badly, certainly an improvement at the end...
Welcome :) I’m afraid I have to be the bearer of bad news. Cab controllers (I assume you’re talking about stuff like Raildriver?) don’t work with...
Great work, think I’ll give it another go with your latest strategy and I’m looking forward to the opposite run. Honestly, we might be running...
I’d like to echo OldVern. The steam implementation does not only seem unrealistic, but also widely inconsistent. Currently, the 4F is massively...
Very annoying, indeed. I have to revert more and more to the keyboard.
BRO has a very good timetable, but the route itself is rather bland. LFR is (obviously) very scenic, retro and has the 103 on top of the...
Agreed. That’s why it rubbed me so wrong. To me, this thread screams “we’re gauging what we can invest less in to cut costs”, not “we had a fun...
Congrats, matt#4801. Like lcyrrjp said, the climbs seem to have made the difference. Looking at your time, seems like we were roughly in the same...
It did rub me a bit wrong that the community team posted this poll though. As long as no one gets the idea to axe or reduce service mode because...
I’m with these wonderful people. There is no “completing” a route for me. It’s a train driving sim. I drive trains as realistically as I can.
True, like adding a Br 140 :D Sorry, I‘m just itching for a proper Bundesbahn freight loco :)
Thanks, I really appreciate your kind words! I liked these two best as well. I’m really surprised with how they turned out. I have a really hard...
And here are some impressions for those of us who like pictures. The colour ones are also good (some better even), but I decided to upload the...
Finally had time for a proper attempt at NTP and oh my, what fun it was. It had been some time since I last played NTP and the route has held up...
Probably for the best. As I did in the beginning, I’m tempted to ask for proof under every post, but what’s the point.
I think Tomas9970 already explained it well. Adding my 2 cents, doing both is just the most you can do. Raise a ticket so that someone at DTG is...
Feels like a ‘What could have been’ shot.
Dinosbacsi, I asked OldVern about it some time ago. I got it in a sale in the meantime for 50% off and don’t regret it. I love old electrics...
It’s the same story with modern vs classic (for lack of a better term) locos post steam. With traditional electric locos, a driver could still do...
I only remember Matt mentioning the V90 once in a stream years back. As far as as I recall, he said that while there probably won’t be a way...
I’ve seen the the hazard lights button on locos going into France in my part of Germany, namely the 186s and the few 185s with the France...
Holy smokes, I’ve never seen that in TSW! :o
I enjoy it overall. I hate having a HUD speedo and AP bar, so I always had them turned off via keyboard inputs anyway. One thing that bothers me...
Agreed. That was a nice attempt at getting closer to reality in shunting.
Wow, great work! Looks stunning :)
One thing just occured to me. Did you manually re-download your liveries? I had unsubscribed to mine and resubbed after the update was live.
I just tested it on PS5 on some Br 110 liveries that were broken before. They work now, so I don’t know what’s going on exactly.
Probably would work … if I was on PC :) I’m a PS5 player, so no dice.
This is so annoying. Thankfully, it’s only the save game and not the journey there for me, but I keep accidentally clicking on the save game when...
Steam traction is in such a weird place in TSW. Nothing feels completely right, just shades of wrong. We got the Jubilee to a place where it feels...
NTP is perfect for steam. Had a nice run with an unbraked 8F coal train on it (Descending to Manchester Victoria down from Miles Platting was...
It’s a missed opportunity for sure. That being said, I get the economic arguments that making the right track would essentially double the route...
On the braking I agree, although cutting out the electric brakes give her far more realistic brake performance. I’m not sure about power...
Absolutely agree. The Vectron should have totally come with an engine room. All of the engine rooms we have are simplified and that’s fine. If...
True, but I don’t totally agree. Not only did the 232 spread throught all of Germany, she quickly became a mainstay in the heavily industrial Ruhr...
I’m confused, you need to activate AFB on the 101 as well via the main switch on the lower left console.
Make sure to first enable AFB on the left MFD. It’s the symbol that looks like a speedometer. Then you can set a target speed and confirm.
Sorry for the necro, but the 4F still rubs me wrong so I did some testing. Feel free to replicate this test since I’ll happily admit to not being...
edward#5859, lcyrrjp Ah, mea culpa. I probably looked at the pause menu and it said 12 (loco + tender + 10 Mk1s). Sorry for any confusion :) Not...
Well, I’m hooked and had another go on SoS :) I ran the Merseyside Express (Crewe - Liverpool non-stop) departing Crewe at 21:10. Managed to get...
May I ask where this picture is from? Seems to be an awful lot of interesting information there.
Ah, so those must be the smoking coaches then.
Make sure to open the firebox door as this makes the fireman shovel coal. Otherwise, your fire will go out without warning and you get a service...
You mean if you apply the brakes while overcharged and they get stuck? You need to overcharge the brakes again. Then don’t mess with them until...
HUDless is the way to go, I do it too. You should try as well if you don’t. Everything feels much more alive when you’re only using what’s in the...
Lovely pictures, edward#5859! Especially enjoy these two:
Well, essentially, ‘release’ lets you put more pressure into the brake pipe than usual. There are different ways this works, but the end result is...
That’s normal. You’ll probably never get 5.0 in real life. Stay away from any release position on the brakes if you don’t know exactly what...
A bit awkward perhaps that arguably the least knowledgable person in this thread reports back first, but I used the first hours of the weekend for...
That’s for scheduled trains though, not shunting. Shunting moves are limited to 25km/h.
Separate names with a comma.
