The series S uses a AMd zen 2 running 8 cores a 3.6ghz. The series X uses a slightly stronger zen 2 with 8 cores a 3.8ghz so more powerful cpu.

because they are having to make the DLC so it can run on a Gen 8 console which in turn limits what they could actualyl do with timetables and routes.
