How can i get Train Simulator 2021 to run full screen on a 4k 3840x2160 monitor?
The highest setting seems 2048x1152 ...

I think there's a resolution setting in the menu. I have it running on 3840x2160 monitor no problem.

Something wrong there... I'm running at 2560x1600. Can you get 4k at the desktop? TS will only offer options your system has.

What does your graphics card control panel show as "native" resolution?

Obvious question I know, but do you have a 4K monitor?

You have to set that 3840 x 2160 resolution in Windows as default (and possibly also in the nVidia Control Panel (or AMD equivalent - depending on your video card)) before TS20XX can display it.
This is what DTG say about Resolution:
Set the screen resolution to be used. This cannot be set larger than the computer is already operating at.

You have to choose the maximum available resolution setting from the game, and then adapt it to your screen settings.

No.. the game's maximum resolution will be SET by your screen settings. The one exception is if you use NVidia's DSR, which essentially pointless, and just tanks your FPS for slightly better anti-aliasing which you can actually achieve by using RWEnhancer Pro at no FPS cost.

Usually, the game will run on your screen resolution by default, it is very rare when it doesn't do so. If it does, you have some kind of error for sure, because it's not the monitor's issue. I have 2 monitors, one is a bit old, but still working and using it as my secondary, while the main monitor is a new 144Hz from how2pc.com. I did run the game on the both monitors, and I didn't meet the problem which you are talking about. I would try a fast reinstall of the game, it can help with the problem, by wiping all the errors and going back to default settings.
