Since the addition of the Kassel - Wurzburg route of about 112 miles, i believe that the limits of train sim world have been pushed - in terms of route length and standard and this leads to my suggestion. I personally suggest that a Great Western Express extension which is around 131 miles is added and a Cardiff extension is made a reality- which then on can facilitate even more future extensions- like a line to Bristol Temple Meads via Filton Abbey Wood, A Newbury extension and a line to Oxford. there should also be a Thames Valley and Eton extension but this can happen in the nearest future as part of an additional package. This suggestion would change how routes are developed and THE standard they are developed to, and this would bring player-ship to the game. a well detailed British route with fidelity The time the route is set should be in modern day England and the trains involved should be the: GWR class 800 “Intercity - Express Train” The GWR class 387 “Electrostar” the “Heathrow Express” class 387 The class 345 “Crossrail/Elizabeth Line” The class 719 “Trimode” (forum allows 5 attachments max) There should also be freight trains and other suggestions which weren’t aforementioned. I believe this will be a big step in the right direction for the train sim world community as the game currently lacks British AC contemporary routes. I also think it’s quite a step in the right direction for the railfans in our quite small but very passionate community
It would be great if they made an extended and remastered TSW 3 version of The Great Western Main Line and set it in the present.
yeah, dovetail should really extend that route, give it the SEHS love, after all it’s a very good and bustling route
Modern GWML to Cheltenham Spa would be my choice if they did a 110+ mile route, as it would allow for a fair bit of 125mph running yet also a far bit of Regional Rail, with Class 345/387 London Commuter services or Class 800/802 Cheltenham-Swindon runs (along with a occasional 158/165). Intercity services would also be varied with the ability to have Bristol/South Wales bound (could use Class 800/802 + 387) services able to be controlled from Swindon-London. The route would also be the first Bi Mode route i believe as well
They have said that, as its one of the oldest routes, it's not compatible with an expansion and would need to be rebuilt from skratch.
That won’t happen it was build for TSW OG with an other technique and it would be much quicker to rebuild from scratch than trying to convert and expand it. I enjoyed the route but a rebuild is a big no for me it would be better to use all the ressources and time from the team to build a new route instead of recycling
Excellent idea furthermore the mileage achievement for Brighton main line class 387 Will count for GWR version like how Bahnstrecke Bremen Delmenhorst Oldenburg Pressnitztalbahn Baureihe 155 actually count towards the original version Bahnstrecke Hagen Finnentrop Siegen Ruhr Sieg Nord power surge achievement 1550 km. Also Sand patch grade American Freight AC4400CW for Cane Creek version
It can happen but it won't happen for a while yet, maybe in a few years then yes GWE can be extended/remade in a modern era with IETs, 387s etc.
This would be a very nice idear just that it would take up ALOT of GB. Fingers crossed this could happen. you never know somewhen in the future this could happen or maybe in train sim world 4? lets see, fingers crossed.
First of all. Do you know Isle Of Wight? like they made the same route but modern? they could do that to Great Western Express. just that its og and meaning a whole rebuild maybe. We dont know. Dovetail Games has ways.
Uhh We have no Electrostar trains on Over head wires. all the rest are on DC rails not overhead its about time we have some Electrostars on Over head wires. The Class 387/2 Can be put on overhead wires just that theres not much routes wich have overhead other then other country routes. So the Pantograph for the 387/2 cant really be used. so it would be good if they add the class 387/1 to maybe a Great Western Express Extension. ive been waiting for a 387/1 to be added on over head wires. fingers crossed it happens.
I know for IOW which by the way was made by Rivet but it doesn’t change the fact that you didn’t get my point
