That has a DB BR426 a twin set version of HRR 425. Why not the München Hbf to Innsbruck Hbf (Freight München Laim Rbf to Hall in Tirol Vbf) via Garsmich Partenkirchen line comes out at 107 mi 172 km. That way Innsbruck Hbf gets into the game Freight is done by ÖBB Baureihe 1016 from Hall in Tirol to München Laim. Key feature is that Hall in Tirol is a tower controlled Hump Yard. Switcher locomotive ÖBB Baureihe 1063 2070 diesel if German Switcher locomotive dlc are owned then they spawn at both München Laim Rbf and Hall in Tirol.
Good point and for DB BR218 it can also do Intercity services example is Westerland Sylt to Hamburg Hbf or EC119/118 starts pre December 2021 electrification of Ulm Lindau line.
You know you want to bring us a 624, Maik. My money is waiting… As an aside, on a rail trip to Germany (also Austria and Switzerland) in 1983, the DB BR628 I travelled on from Garmisch to Kempten via Reutte In Tyrol (lovely little line) was the only DB stock I encountered with cloth upholstered seats. Everything else, UIC Bm stock and Silberlinge (or the Ocean Blue variant) had the red plastic seats. So I assume the 628's were fitted with more comfortable seating when built? I can never to this day understand why European railways (not just DB) thought hard plastic seats in second class were perfectly okay for journeys of 6 hours or more (Holland - Scandinavia Express D231 I think from Hoek Van Holland to Kobenhavn, nearly 11 hours!).
Was this the same train that takes the train ferry Puttgarden Rødby? What Deutsche Bundesbahn should have done was remove the hard plastic seats then order the same seats as what the Danish DSB Coaches on D231 had. Remember in those times your 2nd class D express train carriages would have also done a Frankfurt am Main to Dresden Hbf trip via Bebra Gerstungen München Hbf Hof Gutenfürst Tharandter Rampe Dresden Karl Marx Stadt trip. In addition to Amsterdam Bad Bentheim Helmstedt Marienborn West Berlin trip.
It was indeed! I think the night train from Hoek to Kobenhaven and vv Nord West Express (D236/D237?) did use DSB UIC coaches which had fully upholstered full back seats, very comfortable. Anyhow I fear we are veering a bit off topic (my fault for recalling the DB BR628!) but there was certainly more interesting rolling stock dating routes back a few years than current day.
That's (kinda) what I was getting it. Of course I don't know about the internal stuff on your end, however with the recourses available locos will be more common. Regardless, it's great stuff, so I'd take anything
I agree and for Niddertalbahn a DB BR798/795 or Deutsche Bundesbahn Baureihe 211/212 the West German V100 with N wagen to give it a 1960-1980s feeling DLC. When layered to present-day German route these will do railtour services on them. For the DB BR798 Railbus it runs a railtour trip from Hagen to Wuppertal via Ennepetal since the off World Bochum Railway museum uses them on RRO. The 1960-1980s rolling stock it's described on the German Wikipedia page for Niddertalbahn. DB BR211/212 N-wagen runs or shunting operations with 363 204 G6 Spoiler: Deutsche Bundesbahn 211/212 V100 This locomotive is the West German version of the Main Spessart Bahn DB BR204 the East German DR V100 DB BR798/795 DBB BR211/212
I would like to point out it has already confirmed by JD to be a 3rd party route not a DTG route so anythings game.
I just hope it's not Gen4 Dostos. I don't care about anything else. Well.. okay I'd "swallow" the Dostos if the loco is a 218. That would be fine. Of course the good old Silberlinge would be awesome. But maybe too much to expect.
Correct and for the DB Baureihe 211/212 these were also used on Switcher jobs inside Ramstein and Rhein Main Airbases Zacns tanker Jet fuel Flatbed Grafenwöhr. At Bad Vilbel if set in vintage era DB BR194 Krokodil 150 151 139 140 runs Freight while 110 103 120 Long Distance passenger trains late 1970s-October 1990 S-bahn S6 Rhein Main 420.
While I understand that making something set in the past just as expensive to make as a new country, vintage germany is the top of my list. Even a 30mile 1 loco 1 waggon addon I'd buy without hesitation. I love the old uk content and the aging american SD's, I'd be more than happy to finally get my hands on some older german content. Even tho, to be fair, most of the red "boxes" are from the 80s and 90s as far as I know...
Not most. The 143 and 155 are vintage (although both are modernised versions in game with new cabs) but both are former Reichsbahn (East German) locos. West German vintage locos would be something new - for example, imagine a Br 155 that's even more fun to drive since you need to manually check and control a lot more things. That's an Einheitselok for you (Br 110, 139, 140, 141, 150). They can be put on pretty much any electrified route between 1960 and the mid-2000s. Some 110s and 140s are still in service with private companies to this day. A big diesel like the 220, 212, or 218 would also be nice though.
Of course, in the 80s they were beige-and-blue boxes..... Actually, the "boxes" in the 80s were the Einheits, and the fairly short-lived BR 120. The TRAXX series and the Eurosprinter/Taurus group date from the mid-2000s
Is there an online petition somewhere for a BR218? That would be my no1 choice, otherwise steam era. More red boxes would be less appealing.
Good question and for the 218 it has a white and blue paint seen on SKA 1996 where it's pushing a Belgian Train SNCB NMBS HLE27 I10 I11 carriages over the Ronheider Rampe What niddertalbahn needs is a 1990s theme dlc for itself SKA RRO RSN. Niddertalbahn (the whole route to Frankfurt Am main from its end point via Bad Vilbel) to SKA 1996 218 (white and blue paint) 103 141 111 120 101 140 151 (N wagen) with IR coaches 363 Deutsche Bundesbahn Red. Those are also seen in the Aachen Hbf video 1996 if DTG does Niddertalbahn 1990s theme Frankfurt Bad Vilbel Stockenheim.
Quite literally "boxes" now that I think about it. If you think this is a box, then try this: Doesn't get much more boxy than the Einheitseloks 185 picture 140 picture
That would be incredible to see in a route dedicated to only them. And I was refering to the 143, 112 and 155, as well as the 363 and 204. That is a lot of traction made before 2000, all of them even before the curtain was lifted. The 120, as well as the ICE1 and the 218 are three of my most requested locos for the entire game, and since two of them are comming / confirmed, I have my fingers crossed to see the 120 too one day. And the beige and blue was, in my opinion, way better on the eyes than red.
So another avarage rural german route with the same looking red trains? Not quite interested. With some retro rolling stock, it could be unique, but I think most people had enough of the same-looking red Traxx locomotives and red multiple units.
True. I've recently discovered the route Salzkotten-Göttingen-Kassel set in 1991 in Zusi for me. It's an incredible experience. You've got stuff like 103s, 110s, 120s, 140s, 141s, 143s, 150s, 218s, 401s, and many more all running side by side. Obviously, way out of reach of what DTG can supply but it's a stunning, vintage experience (based on real timetables, too!). Should you or anyone else here play Zusi, give it a try. A quiet route with the usual one or two locos would be fine for me but DTG seem determined to not do any German vintage route - ever.
I agree and for DTG they need to make vintage German stock like DR Dostos N-wagen Y-Wagen UIC X Wagen and many more including the Donald Duck DBB BR403. Perhaps a DR BR175 DB BR601 high-speed diesel DMU should change their minds if DTG refuses to make older vintage german trains for TSW3. Regarding Niddertalbahn it had a DBB BR211/212 624 795 798 Railbus in the 1960s-1990s had to use the German Wikipedia for rolling stock suggestions those can layer to era 7 German routes 2011-present.
Might be an internal decision. The only retro route we got with TSW2 was Clinchfield, all the UK stuff is from TSW2020. With the exception of Diesel Legends but that's a bit off the idea there. I don't know why we don't see more older content but I hope to get more. I like new modern content too, but I already feel that I get less excited about the new routes, route after route. Especially since there hasn't been any loco DLC to give me anything new either. That's why I'm looking forward to TSG so much, all three locos they are doing currently are must busys.
That is actually pretty exciting, especially IF they finally bring Frankfurt Main with this route as starting point. Considering most of the trains depart from there on this route irl, it would make sense. But then reading this is a 3rd party route, I guess we can forget Frankfurt main station to be included. This would be quite some work, and I doubt any of the 3rd parties currently working on TSW are up for that. In present a BR 642 serves this route (since 2012 according to Wiki) and imo this would be a great new and modern DMU. If they bring the 218 as Loco this would mean it's probably not set in the present and we would have Dostos yet again as main/only drivable units. The rumour of the BR 628, I don't know, I am not a fan. And this has never been used as the main units driving there?! Certainly not for ages.
Absolutely agree on all points. 642 makes more sense for layers and usability on other routes. 628 is hardly seen nowadays. Many prefer modern trains, also because they are the trains one can find/ride irl.
There's already a wide selection of modern trains available in the game. I'd be happy to see something older. All these modern plastic trains feel very similar to me.
Little bit off-topic but I feel like it’s worth sharing different POVs on this in case someone from DTG reads this. Personally speaking, the modern trains don’t feel too similar to me. I can appreciate the (sometime) minute differences between them. For me, modern locos/MUs lack character. They’re too efficient and take too much work off your shoulders. Too many computers taking orders and optimising processes and too little rugged, simple mechanics. There’s a charme to old rolling stock which modern stock just doesn’t have.
There's differences, sure, but once you know how to operate one, you know how to operate most. There's a few locos and trains that have some unique gimmicks like the 612, the 143 and 155. But really, the 423, 425, 426 and all Talent versions pretty much have their buttons in the exact same place. And we have two ICE versions which are pretty much identical to me. Agreed, there's some charme to old rolling stock and manual operations. The BR155 manual tap changer is lovely. Also the good old Class 101 with its manual gear box. Haven't tried the steam locos yet, but will try them as soon as TSW3 releases. Although I don't mind driving a modern train once in a while either. Using LZB and AFB gets a different experience as well. But then you do need a bit more variation than two close-to-identical ICEs.
Niddertalbahn has that with the DB BR795/798 railbus if made as DLC with DB BR211/212 N wagen the West German V100 for those that are not used to the manual gearbox of the DB BR795/798 railbus. Since the DB BR204 is from the former East Germany DR V100 and its accompanying railbus the DB BR771/772 DR BR171/172 for RT Riesa Dresden and Dresden Chemnitz. Video of Niddertalbahn 795/798 railbus cab
You continue to show your dislike towards modern trains with using derogatory terms like "plastic trains". Doesn't make it true, though (that they are made of plastic). And it also doesn't change the fact many prefer them. And while I get your point, we really just have one German Diesel train in TSW with the 612 which is more or less "modern". So having the 642 would hardly be "too much".
Agreed. they aren't plastic - technically speaking they are actually better than their older equivalents. The only things they can't boast is the nostalgia and History factor (9/10 times) - although everyone will have their preferences, and trains that they have memories of.
Yeah, I'm probably biased here since the 425s (used to) and Talents run on my local line, so I've got more of a connection to them. Totally see your point though.
I totally forgot about SoS! But I might not be alone with that. It was a huge project, such a milestone - but soon after everyone seemed to stop caring and move back to the old "plastic vs no plastic" requests and arguments. Steam just... came and went away again! I'd be surprised if we see anything steam until the end of next year.
...some new infos from the recently ended "Games Com" in Cologne. There was an interview with Lukas in German (fortunately also my native language) and he confirmed that the BR612 from DCZ was just a placeholder for the leak. That means other rolling stock can be expected, but it still takes some time until the final release of this third party project! So the speculations can continue, which make the forum so exciting again and again...
We are getting it for Kassel Wurzburg on this route it runs Main Weser Bahn Kassel Marburg Frankfurt Main Hbf by not stopping at Bad Vilbel. ICE1 DB BR628 642 are higher priority trains than a Rhein-Main S6 DB BR430 423 420 with roll signs. S6 orange line as seen on DB BR420 roll signs Rhein-Main version. Purple S8 Green S9.
While I would like older stock and content, I guess it comes down to having reference material needed to create the route and stuff like that. I guess modern content is easier since it's soo easy to have reference compared to older content. We only really have tvl, ntp, diesel legends although it is just the trains, clinchfield, wsr even though it's a preserved route and sos.
The ICE 1 is not running on the Main Weser Bahn; it runs over Hanau to Fulda and upwards to Germany. The ICE running on this line would be the ICE-T. The ICE 1 only runs on the Main-Weser Bahn when the line to Fulda is closed
Got it then and for Main Weser Bahn ICE-T that can be layered from Riesa-Dresden DLC if made as a bundle with Class 700. Basically making Bad Vilbel busy with DB BR101 Intercity coaches
I don't understand. What does the ICE T, the Class 700 and IC coaches in bad vilbel have to do with each other?
I don't know why, but I have a feeling that this is going to be TSG's first route in TSW. Yes, I know Maik has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't have enough infrastructure to build a route but what if DTG is giving him a hand? They have also helped Rivet and Skyhook before. It would make sense to me. DTG can't afford to lose someone with the talent of Maik Goltz. And from what he has expressed, building locomotives alone is not too profitable because of the amount of hours spent to get the quality he feels is necessary and the final price of the product. So, he is helping DTG a lot lately like with the brand new ICE 1. Why not help him a bit to build his first route, to thank him for the great work he is doing, and convince him to keep working on TSW? A short route, to start with would be perfect and if it's going to include BR 628 or BR 218 it also fits quite well. That the BR 612 in the picture is confirmed to be a placeholder also gives me a clue, because it is a train he built. And if he himself has given us a little clue in this very thread?: ........ It's all speculation on my part, maybe it's the desire I have that everything goes well for him and he gets the reward he deserves for his work. If there's one thing I value in a professional it's that he always wants to go a little further, seeking excellence in his work. And I think Maik is like that, I can't imagine him delivering a product he has worked on if it doesn't meet his quality standards, even at the cost of losing money to achieve it. I've already placed my bet, let me know what you think.
It has to do with them forming the passing long distance trains at Bad Vilbel which is playable if Niddertalbahn runs to Frankfurt am Main Hbf as the end point
My money is on a colab between TSG and AN Other. TSG making the loco/trainset and the AN Other doing the route. If I am right this could be a very high quality product and immediately a day 1 purchase for me. That said TSG could release a steaming pile of fresh horse manure and it would still be a day 1 purchase for me, thats how high I hold his work, and he's never disappointed.
