I know the livery is not that great but still with the capability of higher speed than the previous model, and with the tilting mechanic on it.

Oh God, please no. The classic Acela is very nice looking and I still have fond memories of MSTS. The Avelia Liberty has to be one of the worst looking trains in the history of railroading.

The new accela front looks ugly, but the rest of the train looks nice

Perfectly explained! Also speeds for that curve (Mp 194.5 - 193.3) is 100 mph for regionals and 110 for the acela!

    Definetly !

Front powercar is supposed to have a removable panel for the sides so that they match up, maybe they just didn't install them.

The Classic acela is a beautiful train, but the avelia brings something different, although I wish they went with the livery from the video, this one will due!

Agree'd, Better tilting technology with more on board technology will make for a great train!

I just don’t like the front of the new Acela and the fact that it has two wheels in between each car and not two wheels for each car, I’m gonna miss the clanking sound and the horn the new shitty. The British horn is probably the worst thing about the new Acela like jfc it’s America not the UK

Front is more aerodynamic which I like, the jacob bogies reduce sway which I like more, however the horn is something I will agree on, its not very good.

I also, besides the ugly nose, hate the fact that the loco and the coaches don't have the same cross-section.

The existing Acela is a tilt-train as well. Nothing new here. Also, the "capability of higher speed" is pretty meaningless on US trackage.

Frankly, the Avelia is a classic case of Amtrak fiscal mismanagement, spending tens of millions on a train it doesn't need when there are major defects in the system which desperately do need money.

It has better tilting technology apparently, tbh the acela trains did need refurbishment, maybe amtrak could have rebuilt them? Who knows, all I know is that it has better technology on board!

I believe ACS 64 was based on Taurus and ALP46 on BR101 :)

    found this bit on WikiPedia:
"Tilting enables passengers to ride more comfortably on curved sections of track faster than would otherwise be possible, by leaning into the bend. Acela trainsets use active tilting above 60 mph (97 km/h) on most of the system, but some segments of track in the Northeast Corridor are too close together for the cars to safely tilt while maintaining FRA minimum space between trains on parallel tracks. Metro-North Railroad restricts tilting on the segment of track north of New York which it owns. The system was originally designed for a 6.8° tilt, but the cars were redesigned 4 in (102 mm) wider to accommodate wider seats and aisles that reduced allowable tilt to 4.2° to fit within the clearance constraints of the existing tracks.[55] Traveling at higher than 135 mph (217 km/h) also requires constant-tension catenary, which is only implemented on the more modern catenary system north of New York City. South of New York City, the trains are restricted to 135 mph (217 km/h). By comparison, the Northeast Regional and the now-defunct Metroliner service reached 125 mph (201 km/h)."
