I think it would be great to include another text on the route selection screen what year each route takes place in. When selecting TVL for example, it doesn’t say what year the route takes place. I know there’s a forum that explains what each code on the routes/locos means.
Eh, UK is the only country where it would be useful. All other countries have no retro routes or only one.
Not yet, but with a slowly but steadily expanding collection of DLC, such a feature will become useful in future, especially considering the work that's being done to support steam locomotives.
This would be nice. It would defintely reduce the amount of Suggestions of the Class 800 for GWE, 802 Paragon for NTP, or even future suggestions like a 319 for BML
As more content comes along, different filters would be useful; so adding year filters and the year the route is based seems like a perfectly reasonable suggestion! To be honest, I don't think the existing Company filter is the best choice (that is my opinion, and clearly at odds with the developers and UX guys at DTG) - I would have plumped for the country of the route. IIRC (it's been a long time now), when looking at the store in-game in TS and you want to buy a route, can't you filter by country there?
