If DTG makes another modern day or even BR British route, they should focus more on filling in empty stations (Edinburgh, Clapham Junction, Reading, Birmingham etc….) in my opinion i believe that they should make more use of large stations in game rather than adding more big stations with only one type of train, so we can have more diversity at stations as usually those stations have 5-10 different train classes running through those stations. I feel like adding some of these stations with only one type of train gives off this ghastly dystopian vibe rather than that of a interlinking station

there should surely be at least one or two TOCs that allow dovetail to use their license in game, even adding one, two or more train types can really make a station interesting

No I'm being serious - the most they can do is add more west Midlands at Brimingham. They don't have XC, LO, Swr, Thameslink. And even then it causes the issue of a load of modeling.

So your examples require these licenses:

Edinburgh - CrossCountry, LNER, TPE, Avanti West Coast and Caledonian Sleeper if set in the same era as E-G, (and Network Rail for station signage)

    Clapham Junction- SWR

Reading- Elizabeth Line, SWR and CrossCountry

Birmingham New Street- Avanti West Coast and CrossCountry

So licensing is and will always be a deciding factor if a route is made or not ;)

I’m okay with that, even if it happens to be the same Train Operating Company, at least adding a different type of train makes a lot of sense

Not for tsw - tsc and tsw licenses are CONPLETELY separate.

It genuinely pains me to say this but we're never getting a swr livery - rivet tried and failed. There on the level of eurostar and grand Central when it comes to licensing...

oh yeah, I get that my point honestly was that dtg (if getting their hands on the license is achievable) should focus more on filling in bigger stations with only one type of train running through (e.g i would love more use of EDB whether it be with avanti WC or scotrail) this is why i was more for the EDB-glasgow via carstairs because there’s a lot of variety on that line rather than falkirk tbh and that would’ve been a good way to introduce the 390 or even other types of scotrail trains (i’m not really good w scotrail trains because i’m not from the area so my knowledge is lacking in that aspect) but yeah, i just feel like glasgow central could’ve been used again but that might just be me

Yep, I am aware of the SWR issue and Eurostar are NEVER going to say yes as DTG have repeatedly asked for it and ES have said no ;)

I feel DTG should make the WCML Over Shap or Trent Valley in the modern day to utilise this ;)

Tbf I don't want a eurostar route if I'm being honest anyway - driving in a tunnel for half an hour sounds boring but that's like the most famous thing of the eurostar.

Kinda yeah - I still personally feel like though having to model like 6 trains for one route leads to overscope. Slowly layering in trains in my opinion would work better.

Great Northern is part of GTR, which is the big consortium of Southern, Gatwick Express, Thameslink and Great Northern (all four logos are again in LD)

LNWR is West Midlands Trains along with West Midlands Railway as seen in Cross-City so shouldn't be a problem

LNER is different as it isn't featured in game yet so I wouldn't have a clue ;)

yeah definitely, but one train to me just feels lacklustre. We went from 2/3 trains in a dlc to only one

I don’t understand, GTR is part of Southern GX, GN and Thameslink, how come dtg was able to obtain GX/Southern but didn’t bother with thameslink, we had 2 routes where we could’ve gotten the license at least

There have been many already and I hope it comes to SEHS then layers onto BML so everyone can make use of it otherwise Gen 8 players can't buy it due to console restrictions ;)

Tbf though - the best tsc routes really only came with 2 - Trent valley, iow, lbn, overshap.

I initially spoke with TSW nathan about how i preferred carstairs because you had all the trains that ppl wanted in the game on that line the 390s,800s etc.

I don't have a clue but maybe they are saving it for a ECML South (ATS) or MML London-Bedford (DTG) to be in development ;)

i feel like ECML south will be a dtg thing and it might come out in the next year or so, there’s no way dtg is letting a potential cash cow be developed by a third party studio :D

I know eh, Gen 8 users not getting a DLC due to previous layers (SEHS, GWE) not being accessible is unacceptable but you have to deal with it I'm afraid ;)

Chat Moss would be an outlier choice for Alan and team to do but I feel ECML will be first and Chat Moss second further down the line ;)
