You forgot 9th generation consoles basically they are an upgrade of 8th gen consoles and has access to PC Timetable and layers

 

yes, it’s only really gen 8 that holds a lot of things back, but until a major AAA title like a new grand theft auto game comes out, people will stay with gen 8

 

Tbh I think dtg needs to slowly stop supporting Gen 8 considering the pure issues it causes.

 

I'd consider Elden ring that - a lot of players moved to gen 9 for that alone.

 

Can't the devs still cater to last gen and next gen/pc individually? And aren't games built to modern standards and then scaled back for those on lower end platforms? Like higher graphical fidelity to next gen and more graphical options/resolutions, etc. Last gens wouldn't have those of course.

 

it would cost more development time, and with the way people are they would demand it on old gen

 

agreed, gen 8 is becoming less competent, and gen 9 can rival most modern pcs easily if not is somewhat ahead

 

if they could get the LNER liscense, an ECML south would be the perfect route to have as they seem to already have the TL and GN liscense as they’re in LD
