There was never a suggestion the KWVR would be added. I never expected it nor wanted it really.

I am sure it wouldn't be just a five minute job to add it. Unless you have a good representation of the actual engines it's known for I'm not sure it's worth it. The WSR is spoilt for me as the stock you see on it is largely unrealistic.

I know. Still gonna buy it as I'm from Bradford myself so local lines are a must. But would've been nice with more ai stock at leeds.

That's good. Bit of diesel power in leeds. Still missing the 150,153,158 is coming for leeds to Skipton, then off to Carlisle, 170 and tpe 802s.
Seems wierd how there didn't add some diesal locos even for empty depot moves as there have added holbeck depot (the smaller one to the south of leeds) but made it inaccessible

“Selfish and bratty”. What for having an opinion? You need to get a life to be completely honest pal.

Why is it Just Trains can charge less and create ultra detailed routes which run for 80 miles, but DTG can’t?. But go ahead, keep paying a premium every year for the bare minimum.

Yeah it is a shame we’ve not had any of those in TSW so far. The 158 will help since pretty much all services going up the included line are 158’s & it was confirmed they’ll take the role of 170’s for the Harrogate line. So in terms of traffic headed further North I think it will be ‘well stocked’ so to speak.

The unfortunate thing here is when the 150/1 presumably does get added, we probably won’t see it go into this route, so I wouldn’t mind the 158 taking some extra duties up for the sake of bringing Leeds to life.

Hopeing next for a modern (2019 timetable) leeds to manchester via dewsbury and bradford interchange. Using Calder valley line down to Victoria but also including Huddersfield to get the leeds to Huddersfield fast service via dewsbury. Maybe even down to Stalybridge then across to Victoria but maybe thats pushing limitations
    Available stock to use
    Lner 800s
Tpe 800s and possibly the 185
    Voyager
    Northern 142,150,153,158,170
    Class 66 of course
    Class 70
    Older deisal locos
    Scotsman

Wish dtg could get a transpennine express licence so we can have 185 another stock

This will be my last comment on this particular subject as I don't want to draw it out...

But yes, the selfish and bratty behaviour of some people, because they did not get something that they were never promised in the first place, and acting as if they have a moral high ground for a grievance because they didn't get something they were never promised by DTG.

At no point did they ever promise a preserved railway, and why should they when they have made an entire functional network? I'd understand that criticism if say, there was mention of it in the first place, or the route was like Cardiff Valley with it's limitations. But it was never on the table to start with, and secondly you have an entire network. If you were to ever get that route (which I doubt at the moment), it would have to be it's own self sufficient add on. Added to that, with the way the game has been struggling in some aspects it's like the people demanding these things overlook the limitations that can add to some Gen9 hardware being a contributing factor too, and just want to jump on the developer bashing wagon, rather then see why it practically might not of been added. But regardless of that, we were promised the Airedale & Wharfdale Lines, with no mention of a preserved railway 'branch' and that's exactly what we got.

You mention JT... But let's say hypothetically JT announced a set route, and then if JT didn't include something that was never set out in the first with that particular route, and people were moaning about it and making an unnecessary grievance and criticism of that hypothetical route just because it didn't include something they wanted as if it was promised to them, it would still come across and not only selfish and bratty, but I'd also add self entitled.

If it was a simple comment, that was a genuine curiosity I don't think I'd have reason to even pick up on it. But to just developer bash with no reasoning behind it and act genuinely surprised and annoyed that it wasn't included just strikes me as all of the above.

I'll take onboard the comment about 'getting a life', so long as you take onboard not to be bratty, self entitled, or changing the goal posts of your expectations on something that was never promised to you in the first place.

Others can draw their own conclusions, I'm not particularly fussed.

Are the GBR 802s being "used" for AI transpennine service (the Edinburgh services)

From what l saw in last night’s stream l was impressed. I know we weren’t promised the KWVR, but it seems a pity that stock has been added at Keighley, that adding the heritage railway would have increased interest in the route.

As they added it in the Airedale Wharfdale route advertising
    • Keighley & Worth Valley Railway activity at Keighley.
I would have thought that the KWVR route was included.

GWE was released without the branch lines and now they have been added as a separate product which has added another dimension to both the route and the game in general.

That's rude. While "Selfish and bratty" are probably not words I'd choose (though I also can't rule it out) SierraOscar95 is absolutely correct to call-out someone who is displaying unreasonable expectations.

It is incredibly entitled to jump to conclusions if your expectations are unrealistic and it's right that such behaviour is called-out. As we can both see the poster saw "Keighley & Worth Valley Railway activity at Keighley" and has clearly not understood what that meant but is now disappointed because of their own misunderstanding.

With regard to your last comment. I'm sorry to see you've stopped buying TSW products. I hope you find a new hobby soon, we'll certainly miss you in these forums.

Working last night so just skimmed through the preview video.

I think I'll stick with giving this a miss for the time being. When the 331 layers on to MAC and there's a sale, I will probably get it then.
But as for this route Leeds was too quiet for me, need passengers and way more layers.
And I don't know who planted the trees around Neville Hill depot, but it's not in a forest... :D

I do hope the 331 being in TSW means they're going to do a 195 as well as some point.

So they included exactly what it says, I don’t know how you got from ‘activity at specific station’ to ‘entire railway’.

There is a HST railtour, but there is also the EMT layer that replicates the pre2020 HST diagrams.

Excellent review from the reliable and balanced David Pearson.

I did notice his little chuckle when he said "my brutally honest review". I can't help but feel my comments on here may have started an in-joke between creators as I saw another video titled "My (Brutally) honest thoughts".

Doh! Jokes on me if so, but I can handle that.

From what I gathered on the stream, only if you own the Grumpdog reskin pack.

As regards the K&WVR, well it would have been nice but without another steam loco and maybe a Class 25 it would have been a bit pointless.

For the railtours and static barriers, but the public service EMT’s should just come from MML along with the 158’s.

As I said elsewhere, the article is really poor & the main announcement post for TSW7 is even less detailed.

We know the community team has their hands on a full list of both AI & playable services, with the requirements listed, so I don’t know why they haven’t given us a full breakdown. One of the main things people want to know about routes is what layers in, just bizarre they only vaguely touch on them in their writeups.

Ditto for the German route which no doubt has a myriad of requirements.

Who spotted Danny Sapko in the chat last night? We need him as an NPC at Bradford station. Instead of petting a cat, we could tickle a dipstick.

    Calder valley!

I’ve suggested this route many many times, it’s my local one and has very good potential for rolling stock and new units. It allows for more Northern routes but also the use of the NT license meaning we could get a 150/1,156 & a 195, which all run on this line. Also a lot of freight and rail tours that pass through.

    You are right with that!

now that you have said that, I think it would be cool that TSR’S are weather dependent/related in the game. For example, in the summer, you can have really hot weather which makes the tracks expand so let’s say on my local line in real life, the normal running speed is 70Mph but because of “heat” in your service, you’ll have to go through some sections at 45MPH for example.

let’s say you run a service and it’s absolutely storming with rain and wind, then the 10Mph TSR’s can imply there’s a flood so extra caution.

    just a thought but I see a vision :)

I can see such events being covered at some point in the future. Our varied weather conditions have a fundamental effect on the services. I'd love to see more vegetation detritus during windstorms. Branches laying trackside, puddles, angry overflowing brooks and rivers, huge waves on coastal routes.

Maybe one day, for now I'm just pleased we've got live weather. For me that's a big improvement for the TSW game.

If I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure in the earlier TSW’s, wind would actually move the trees? I could be wrong but I’m sure I’ve seen something like that.

Another question, is Live weather based on your realife location or the route location in real life?

    thanks :)

Yes, I think that still can happen in TSW6 but I've only seen it when I've used "God mode" to crank-up the wind speed to replicate the real world weather conditions.

One day we'll have squall-fronts in TSW, those times when the sky goes black, the wind becomes horizontal, followed by sideways torrential rain. 20 minutes later it's sunny and much calmer, but usually fresher. In the US they have "Derechos" which are like squall fronts on steroids that bring gusty hurricane strength winds.

It's well worth searching footage of Derechos online, nature's fury at its worst.

From what I saw of the route, Rivet have done a good job, can't grumble about the aesthetics.

Hopefully the gameplay mechanics will match when we get hold of it.

Brilliant job on this route, has to be said. Detail, sounds, immersion - brilliant. Fair play DTG for doing a console play too. A nice route and will buy it even if I do think overhead knitted stuff is a bit duff :D

The thing that I don't fully understand is that given "they" (DTG/Rivet) made the TfW 150/2 for Cardiff they could surely have reskinned it into Northern livery to have pottering around on this route, same for the 153 (though I think they had gone by 2025WTT) and if they really wanted to get brownie points they could have done the 153 as a 155 like the great SeaLeopardSkins managed to do, though from memory they are now pretty much confined to Hull so not seen at Leeds on Calder Valley runs.

As for the stream, I got bored and turned it off fairly quickly, it seemed to be the usual backpatting and chatting away, not really focusing on things we would be interested in and of course the whole "live weather" not being shown. I'm thinking the route will be ok, as will the rolling stock (331s do go like a stabbed rat) though I do think they lack of train activity in Leeds is disappointing.

I understand their "reason" for the 333 being the "deluxe" version but I still don't agree with it, they could easily have included that with the 331 and the route then churned out something else for deluxe, say the 321/9 (which yes I think had gone by 2025 but only just?). Not to mention a Dusty Bin would set a few folks off foaming at the mouth ;)

Yeah agreed on the 150, especially since the Northern /2’s tend to stick around this side of of Manchester - I don’t think another 66 & another 802 is stretching the budget too much to add in a new livery & interior for a 150.

I have been on the 331s before and I will agree with you that the sounds do sound artificial. Another thing is the de-accelaration sounds on the 331. I've found them to be a little in accurate which is a shame but everything else like the 333 are spot on

I suppose it depends on what they are licensed to make. The Northern 150s are approaching 40 years old so it's possible Northern don't want them being represented in game.
