I absolutely hate this Discord carp that DTG have chosen to use.

 

Yeah. Just because they have Discord doesn't mean they shouldn't also be communicative (I hope I haven't just made up a word) here also imo, for those of us who don't use Discord.

 

Is it just my feeling or is this forum no longer quite the right platform for information from DTG and has it been replaced by Discord?

The sad part is that most companies switched to that pile of text garbage (This is just a IRC v2 but just as bad) instead of a proper forum. It's cheaper for them but one day it will bite them in the bottom, due to lack of control or just loosing their channels.

 

I don't want to jump to conclusions, just incase I've misinterpreted that post. But having 'no concrete time and date' the way I have interpreted it, is taking a liberty with the communities patience from DTG. We get told of a rough date for a patch being released on Monday or Tuesday this week, and then without any prior consultation with forum members and on a different platform we are told there is no specific date for the patch. What's even more insulting is a DTG representative couldn't even be bothered to post here first and we have only found out through a third party. That is taking the mick just a little bit... All I can say is, if I have interpreted that right, "I see how it is DTG... "

They really are not helping themselves, or gaining any confidence from me. This whole situation is getting incredibly sloppy and poorly managed by DTG. They have had such a lack of basic etiquette through this whole scenario for forum members and players in general.

I agree with you completely. I'm not against other social media platforms having a presence, but I'm beginning to feel the forum is being treated like a second class citizen compared to discord.

I find it ironic that for years, players, myself included, complained that alot of timetables were impossible to keep to. Even more so if you use all safety systems and approach control. Now we have timetables with realistic built in slack and player are not happy.
I remember Matt saying that before if they did implement real slack that players would become bored and frustrated and that a balance had to be found. He was right.

I will add some clarification here, there was a bug found in journey mode over the weekend with a couple of services missing during all these fixes going on so I had rectified that and its currently with final sanity testing to ensure the patch is in the right place, once ready im sure there will be a clearer update as to exactly when it is dropping to platforms. Should be very very soon tho!

The ire is firmly pointed at DTG for choosing to hide behind a social media platform that not many of us want to use, as opposed to their own company forum.

 

I appreciate your response as always Kezz and I am not holding your team in anyway responsible.

My frustration and disappointment solely lays with DTGs poor communication and their handling of this and other recent situations which is reaching a boiling point.

This is how DTG describes its new discord " space ". So it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out where we're headed as far as communicating news about TSW is concerned.

I've noticed that the Moderator presence on this forum is much reduced. Wonder where they've gone. Oh yes, I know.

 

The even more frustrating thing is, even on Discord, it took some prodding to get that information out in public. It doesn't seem as if it was even an announcement, just a reply to a comment! That just shows me the lack of etiquette on DTGs behalf considering how they've treated this whole situation. (Just to clarify I am not holding AAS or their team in anyway responsible for these issues).

And then that leaves the forum, and it's members as second class players... (Well in my opinion). I wouldn't mind if there was an equal spread between the two platforms, but when one seems to be getting priority over the other I don't think it's on. I'm not super young and have no interest in cringey apps like TikTok or Discord... Anyway that's just me ranting and raving now and showing my age.

I think I've got my frustration and venom out about DTG for today...

 

As far as the first patch for the Birmingham- Crewe route is concerned: to be fair, they did say that the dates for all patches were " aspirational ". That's how it goes when you buy something before it's polished for release.. You have to be patient. Those of us who are holding off buying until the route is fixed have already shown that patience.

 

Im so much worried about this patch cause I kinda knew it would not be perfect and it will take a few patches to get it right but i still will play it. Im more annoyed about wait for tsw6 core patches to fix things that they screwed up on that last update.

Me neither. I'm 73 years old today.

 

My 7th service now (9F40) no timetable issues whatsoever. The only thing the bugged me about this service was the incorrect 350/3 number and the lack of an arrival time at Stafford, every other station had them. But a lovely autumnal run over the WCML anyway!

The foliage looks so good, even though some would argue maybe overused causing some performance issues, I can’t argue about how good it looks!

I was the same, but if you have the ECML Peterborough to Doncaster route, SEHS, WCMLs and GWE installed, as well as the Skyhook Cargo Line packs, you should find majority of them under the ECML 66
