They said it happened approaching Watford not euston. You are correct though Euston does have grids and higher than other termini stations first grid is set for 20mph or below 2nd grid 10mph below
Am I missing something here…if you uncouple a 10 car unit, is there any way of closing the coupler hatch?
Yes, if you have a look at the back wall panel next to the cab door, you should find a button labelled ‘Hatch door close’
So the Class 805 on WCML(S) scenario ‘9G25 Turnback at Watford’ makes no sense. Firstly the description doesn’t suggest you’ll only go to Watford but the title does. Odd. Secondly, on approach to platform 8 at Watford got a ‘SPAD Alert Contact Signaller’ in cab. Previous was 1 yellow and the intervention was before the station. My thinking is that this is due to (previously reported) WM1161 G.P.S which is only for trains going Down the Up Fast not those crossing from Down Fast to Down Slow. Also of note, the signal showed proceed.
I had it too yesterday evening. Succeeded to make the train move by "resetting the simulation" in the menu. Regarding Euston buffers approach speed...
I was initially apprehensive about the 805 but I am enjoying driving it. The audio is really nice on it, the cab is quite nicely detailed especially with the lighting and I quite like the feel of the suspension on it. Feels very alive when it reaches 125mph. I will say I feel like I’m barely getting any DSD alerts though so I’m not sure what other people think on this. The route overall feels a lot more alive and I hopefully don’t jinx myself, but not had any crashes on WCMLS though I have had one on B2C approaching Crewe so far. I think AAB have done a really good job on the train and a NWML route would complement it nicely. Also think AAB would do a good job with a revamp of the 801s on ECML and 802s to bring them into line with each other quality wise.
