Okay folks, prepare to be amazed. I found these and had to share them. I got chills watching these. God bless!
Man, that first video makes me wish that SBRHS would arrange another excursion down here to San Diego with 3751. I saw it in Old Town back in 2008 when I was little and barley remember it. It would be fun to chase a steam excursion through my own back yard. I love that second clip too. 765's living up to the NKP's high speed standard.
Heck yeah. They really need to give a good excursion. I hope to see it or 2926 one day. And you’re right, if 765 could talk, she would say that it was old times. Van Sweringin Berkshires are amazing. God willing, I’m going to try and save enough money to buy a throttle time ticket for driving and firing it on the Cuyhoga Valley trips.
... and no one's referenced N&W 611?? IMHO the most beautiful (and one of the most powerful) steam locos to grace the rails.
Another good 611 video is this one of her 1992 tango with the Saluda Grade: There's also this footage of 611 stomping the Grade supposedly in 1994: There's also this video from '92 covering the Saluda run: And then there's this film that covers 611's 1992 runs over the S Line; hey would ya look at that, the line I grew up along; and the Saluda line: Can't say the audio quality's the best on this one though. I do have it on DVD, and it's audio's FAR better. Must be a result of the individual's transfer from tape to digital.
