Amsterdam-den Haag Disscussion

I don't know when this route will come even though we have many new screenshots, just like last time with Zwolle-Groningen but then I see the Virm being in a state of needing heavy texturing still and also not having seen any other stations or locations (that I know of, maybe some other folks know the locations and line enviroment better) except for Amsterdam-Centraal and I haven't seen Den-Haag yet so I'm probably sure this route is coming in begin/mid 2027 (even though I really hate that and much prefer a sooner release). Also hopefully they choose the Grey Nose (grijze neus virm) variant instead of the newly yellow cut in the top part of the grey

The screenshot with Station Lisse has again the incorrect OHLA like Zwolle - Groningen sad enough. Was hoping they wil fix it this time…

The rest looks good.

 

Very simple to fix but they did not ☹️

 

SLT sprinter train is nice to add. This train drive a lot on this route!

#9: Not sure, but since it's only 2 tracks it's probably between Sloterdijk and Warmond. After a bit of searching my guess is here
#10: Nemo museum just east of Amsterdam Centraal
#11: Same place as #1 and #2 just facing west now instead of east
#12: Track split towards Haarlem and Zaandam near Sloterdijk
#13: Same place as #12, roughly 400 meters west

 

Just did a bit of google maps searching and my guess is here between Voorschoten and Den Haag Mariahoeve

Yeah I know the Nemo and sloterdijk & amsterdam locations i'm a local but I didn't know the leiden and den Haag locations so thanks! Also what are you most excited for this route?

 

The tracks look really good, prototypical for the route.

I wonder how much of the commercial buildings along side the track we'll see in the route, seeing as they won't have licenses to use the names (stuff like the IKEA store near Haarlem Spaarnwoude for example, which is very clearly visible from the tracks).

 

Picture 4 is near Voorschoten and picture 9 is the Youth Prison in Sassenheim.

 

Hopefully with conductor mode this time we'll see Whistles added, which was absent at Zwolle-Groningen which was a shame cause it would add so much immersion and realism.

 

And dont forget about station and intrain announcements i rlly wish they updated zwolle groningen aswell if they add these 2 features for the hague amsterdam

But will the announcements be accurate? In the SNG and potentially later SLT they're automated while in the VIRM and ICMm its manually done by the conductor. Same goes for the station announcements in Amsterdam where there's a different jingle for NS and NS International.

 

True but I guess we'll have to see. Also another thing I would like to see is the Eurostar terminal and we be able to walk out Amsterdam Centraal to the IJ-zijde to the GVB ferries ⛴️ (Pond) to Amsterdam Noord and A'dam tower

 

why cant we get the railway museum in Utrecht its the best museum I have ever seen.

Zaanstraat. When I was studying to become a train driver I had an internship at NS in Amsterdam and during shunting shifts most of the time we would go to Zaanstraat. Personally I enjoyed that yard more than Watergraafsmeer since it's fully NCBG which is becoming increasingly rare for passenger yards.

 

Perhaps because Utrecht isn’t even near the route between Amsterdam en Den Haag…

 

yeah but why can't we just get utrecht in one route i live in the netherlands when im going with the train i always go trou utrecht its the central station of the netherlands

 

Need to have some patience, if this route will be anathor succes then i'm sure we'll eventually get a Dutch route including Utrecht.

 

they don’t make routes just because it’s your local station

 

They'll probably throw in the existing TGV as AI. Maybe some trams out front.

 

Zandvoort branch is going to be a nice detail. Hopefully with a 'race day' scenario to serve the F1 race at the circuit.

If everyone jumps on this route like we did with Zwolle-Groningen, I'm sure DTG will consider a third route in the Netherlands. Rolling stock is there, lots of assets are too, so why not?

Chances that Utrecht CS is on that third route are pretty big, as quite a few cross-country IC services call at Utrecht CS.

Having said that, from Utrecht CS to Utrecht Maliebaan station (where the railway museum is), would need to be a separate branche, as that track is not used for any through services (only trains to and from the railway museum use it). So I wouldn't get my hopes up. But if they build Utrecht CS to Amsterdam CS over Hilversum, then yes, the branche to Utrecht Maliebaan station could be part of it.

What kind of rolling stock do you imagine being included at the railway museum?

 

At least the 4011 koploper

 

If they make a 3rd dutch route I hope they add the DDM with an older timetable cause it's one of my favourite old school modern trains
(Even though they retired in 2019)
They're also the first NS doubledeckers ever in the Netherlands so it's quite revolutionary!
