When we moved into TSW 4 it was hailed as the next logical step to low an expansion of this unique online world. However I honestly don’t see any reasons now to bring out a new TSW every year. At most I would say a two year gap would be perfect. However as we know, or at least those who have been lurking a while understand DTG have this extremely frustration way of working. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure we are still hanging of for repair work to TSX 2020 / 2 /3 / and now 5. Tbh I’ve started taking a back seat to the game and have not been as active. To my old dusty mind DTG seem to have lost their way, have stopped listening to its customers and seem to lurch from one poorly executed release to another. Apart from that I do enjoy the game and honestly think the only way forward and to safeguard its virtue is to go do the route of TSC. Regional loco packs, themed foreign packs, scenarios could all be created and bundle and dare I say with their experience they would knock its out of the park. I remember when TSW first launched and the excitement of being able to play the best sim on any platform was unbelievable. Then the daydreams faded and turned into nightmares. Problem after problem after problem created a messy platform with the joys that a public forum brings. Communication turned into ignoring the customer base. DTG telling players what they wanted and the long and short was DTG have no interest in creating “historical” locos and that will be taken on by a third party across the board. So we are embarking on the 6th iteration of the beleaguered title and certain areas still haven’t had a good look in. Historical routes and locos shouldn’t be ignored. Even though it’s easier to use all the same models. Go back to the BR blue days and Intercity days. Routes like Paignton to Exeter St David’s, Exeter St David’s to Bristol TM Cardiff to Birmingham, Swansea to Newport / Cardiff (enroute Paddington), Bristol TM to Portsmouth Harbour or Swindon to Worcester Birmingham to Manchester / Liverpool. The options are there for all to see but like everything, not just this game, the political Geocentre of London namely Westminster has to be constantly prodded an poke while no one else gets a look in. Every now and again we get thrown a bone to keep us quiet but they are becoming fewer and fewer. Please DTG we as players, hobbies (or hobbits as auto correct wanted to state), want to support you. Without our money rattling in your tills there won’t be further releases. Attitudes that I’ve picked up on over the last year need to change and you need to realise that without us this ceases to exist so please start putting out content that us players want not just what you want because otherwise we are going to have many lines with very few locos.

No worries - the core upgrade is free for the first few weeks after the game launches, so you're not being forced into buying anything. Your routes will work fine on the new TSW too.

Months, not weeks. It was around 4 months before the free starter pack for TSW5 was withdrawn, and somewhere in the TSW6 launch comms was something about it being around for longer this time.

I'm still holding out hope that this content can somehow be carried over. If it absolutely has to be unbranded, I'll learn to live with that.

Seeing as for TSW6 we are supposed to "expect the unexpected", maybe this is all going in a different direction. What if all the community projects from which the developers mysteriously could not comment on would do a comeback? Like an official announcement for something like a community pack including those projects or them getting announced in the pull a ticket series officially?
