Yeah, but how many routes get 2 timetables for Weekday and Weekend services? You are honestly expecting too much if you want them to do a Weekend timetable.
You missed my point. The timetable represents a day's services. Therefore it should have either the weekday services or the weekend services, but not both.
On another note, it looks like I've found one timetable scenario that may be messed up a little bit. M208, Part 2 from Newhall to LA, when you get to just outside Taylor yard, you get a red signal (CP Ormiston) and it's a never ending red signal. I checked the map and it looks like there's two trains facing each other on the same track, both also with red signals. So it makes it impossible to finish the run as the signal will never change.
Regarding scenery, when leaving Lancaster there’s issues with the car traffic along the route. some cars are floating Lots are missing shadows I’ve witnessed cars disappearing and appearing out of thin air. Sometimes you get whole stretches of road with no traffic At some crossings the cars don’t stop and they try and turn around and glitch
I honestly do not think anybody tests or checks these routes before they are released. What is the excuse for this kind of garbage still? New game, same old problems. Unbelievable.
Some of these timetables are having issues. I have a 19 minute station stop at Via Princessa on train 218! This is in no way correct. What is up with these long station stops? 19 minutes??
I sure hope Matt and the team really listen to us about these annoying and ridiculous bugs/glitches. It's getting old. This might be my last TSW game. This never ending immersion killing fun destroying stuff is tiresome. TSW4 should be less of these problems by now, not more.
There's at least one speed limit sign facing the wrong way; this one is the most noticeable as it's right at the start of any part 2 to Lancaster. As you approach the drop to 39 MPH near milepost 43, you never see a sign for it. no sign by OrangeAnon posted Sep 27, 2023 at 9:02 PM Coming back the other way, you can see it's actually there, just incorrectly indicating a speed drop for southbound trains when the speed actually continues at 55 MPH for a while. wrong sign by OrangeAnon posted Sep 27, 2023 at 9:02 PM
I can't believe I missed this..usually I notice things like that. Well, let's hope DTG fixes this stuff.
The Metrolink speed restriction signals have the same shape as the UPRR ones that you have seen in previous routes like Sherman Hill, but you read them differently. UPRR speed restrictions apply immediately at the signal, while Metrolink restrictions apply aprox. 2500 yards after the signal. I use this Metrolink signal sheet as a reference.
This is clear to me just by driving the route. Check out the area for yourself; there is no sign visible to Northbound trains 2500 yards prior to the 39 MPH limit. The 55 MPH limit continues far, far longer than 2500 yards past the sign visible to Southbound trains. The sign is exactly where you'd expect it to be ahead of the Northbound 39 MPH limit, it's just facing the wrong way.
Blue flashes in tunnels. Why is this still happening? Why does this stuff not just get done right the first time? The developers clearly know how to make tunnels where this phenomenon doesn’t happen, so why are they not all perfect at this point? Talk about making unnecessary work for yourself.
I suspect both of these are part of the trickery to get the dispatcher working with single line operation. Similiar workarounds had to be used to get Clinchfield working at all.
So there's no way for it to just line you straight through for a station stop without going in the siding? Is it like, setup specifically that way? It would seem like a path could be made to just go straight and not diverge at a siding, unless meeting a train.
This has probably been mentioned others as well, but PTC and alerter audio are way too quiet in the cab car and loco and this seems to be a common issue for all the locos across TSW4. DTG Matt Please can this be flagged to the audio team asap.
Hi Has anybody else tried timetable service AV 201: LA Union - Lancaster (Part 2)? At Vista Canyon, where the service starts, the first signal where the double track merges into single track near just off the end of the platform, is stuck at red and I cannot seen an obvious reason why. The service cannot be completed.
Xbox Series X Using B button to reset the TMS stops working after a while in the Rotem Bi-Level cab car
Yes, I have run and completed this service. You are waiting for an AI east bound, which is far away when you complete the station work. The AI dispatcher, in its infinite wisdom, is holding you for it, even though it looks like, on the map, there is enough room for you to depart and meet it at the next siding.
The dispatcher we have in the game does not consider multiple path options. It is one of those problems that are easily solved by a human but are complex to solve with an algorithm.
When I import TSW3, the freight layer disappears on this route ,But I saw SD40 in the scene task, which is very strange
The US gets the least amount of love when it comes to DLC from TSW. That's what you get with a developer based in the UK. The Antelope Valley line is a blessing. That's how trains are in the US. Sorry it's not European. We folks from the US could say the same about European stuff. No one is forcing you to run US based stuff....... Calling it dumb because you're unfamiliar with it or think it's too simple for you is just a completely off base comment.
Zusi 2 managed it (presumably also Zusi 3) but has eluded DTG in both TSC and TSW or indeed their Kuju predecessors with MSTS. Actually Run 8 despatcher is also very good though does still occasionally produce standoffs.
Hi, I'm enjoying this route, but is there a signaling guide somewhere ? I'm having trouble understanding at what speeds I should be driving, given that many US railroads seem to follow their own speeds for the same signal aspect. On a side note, is it normal that the train keep accelerating on a grade with throttle in notch 1 while already at speed ? Seems weird. When driving at around 40 MPH in throttle 1 or even 2 on a grade the train should not keep accelerating, for example on the Peninsula route it seems to behave correctly.
Great feedback. I noticed this about AV218 as well. When I ran this service, I had to stop and wait for a Union Pacific train (I guess I have that layer from Sherman Hill or whatever) at the signal about 1.5mi north of Via Princessa (not sure which CP this was). After the UP train passed, the crossing gates at the level crossing right after the signal immediately raised and would not go back down after I moved my train. The spotting signs are inconsistent at more stations than that, I've found. I will have to start writing these things down. The scenario stop markers are also pretty far off at almost all stations. Spotting the train correctly within a few feet is an important and challenging aspect of stopping a U.S. commuter train due to wheelchair ramps. Metrolink, specifically, has a concrete ramp on all platforms that needs to be spotted to the 2nd door of the cab car, the one with the wheelchair placard next to it. The "SPOT CAB" marker is used when driving from the cab car and the blue diamond that says "4 CAR" is for the 4-car Rotem consist that we have in TSW. I believe the signs should end up abeam the engineer's head when spotted correctly.
I second that. Just a shame the trains are so lightweight and the nature of the route means there is little opportunity to open it right up. Ironically the last few miles from Palmdale to Lancaster provided the best opportunity.
Hi, This is is on all PlayStation consoles and for all sounds. I have reported this already multiple times in the past, since this issue exists since TSW2. But it probably got forgotten. All sounds are not looped properly. For some reason it is only on PlayStation, not on PC. I think this issue has something to do with putting the game on console, since some other games has this issue too
I've got two trains travelling in opposite directions on a single track section near LA Union Station gridlocked on AV 208 Lancaster-LA part 2. I'd share pictures if I was allowed to upload them here.
Vern, was thinking of you mentioning Duel. I've linked a GoogleEarth .kml file featuring many locations of Duel scenes along the Valley https://workupload.com/file/UhmkSFAFYYA
On PS5 all the traffic lights at road intersections spawn literally right next to you, once you notice it, it’s very hard to enjoy this route. There are also quite a few speed signs placed the wrong way round.
I second this. I was not able to complete it due to the gridlock at Taylor yard. There's two trains facing each other, both with red signals and you can't move. I waited 10 minutes and nothing happened.
Has anyone heard the director at Middleton Ranch??? "And action....Cut...!" Nice sound feature somewhere on a double track west of Vista Canyon... Spoiler CP Ravenna
Also been noticing odd speed drops on some crossovers, mostly towards the Los Angeles end of the line. Line speed will be 50 but there will be a short section of 40 right on the crossover. Presumably it's 40 through the diverging route, but it's being erroneously applied to the straight through as well.
Yes, I plowed through many cars in Palmdale heading into Lancaster. This happens at several crossings. In fact the cars start to cross the tracks and like a squirrel turn 180 to run back.
No, no..my comment was referring to them making US content dumbed down and being lazy. It seems it's made for people with no knowledge of how the US routes work. It's like made for 5yr olds..I am a American railroad history buff and fanatic. Just wish they made US routes on par with the European counterparts.
Wow! I stopped playing that route till they make some changes. How does this garbage get through before release? Unbelievable.
I have found floating rocks in fences and on top of them. floating fences, flying cars. I still enjoy and play the route but I do wish that they took some time to ensure stuff like that did not get missed before final build.
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to misunderstand you. This said, I absolutely agree with you. The US content always gets a back seat to everything else.
It's all good! I just wish for once we could get a good U.S. route with the right operations and scenery, no bugs, and good gameplay. A true to form realistic route that was done with compassion and understanding of the railroad. Well, wishful thinking I guess.
