Sometimes there is, more so with the earlier releases though. Not sure if there's anything new in very recent releases - Southeastern brought in a new level crossing system & better departure boards, and LGV brought in a new system for doing wet platforms, although it actually took until Cathcart before that was employed on other routes. The signals in the Cathcart route are new I believe but it doesn't come with new features, they tend to be kept for the main core releases. EDIT: I just remembered that TPWS TSS is now properly simulated within Cathcart for the first time (apparently it was broken in GWE and not used since)
