Hi all, I just bought the ap 700 pack, and I saw what seemed like a very lovely patch for it. ( https://semaphoresim.com/file/147-ap-class-700707717-ep-patch/ ). However for whatever reason, it just doesn't work fully, a few destination displays are completely broken, sadly. Does anyone with more technical knowledge for TSC, have a solution? Cheers!
I would dump it. I downloaded it to read the README, and it is all in Chinese. APS products don't need patches from other people. You never know; it could be full of malware.
Are you sure you followed the instructions properly? It's probably worth reinstalling the pack. Looks fine for me. The pack is safe, I have it installed. It brings up the AP 700 to what it should have been at launch; I wouldn't use the AP 700 without it.
You download the complete Zip file and when opened the Readme is in English. If you try to open the readme without extracting it then it might be in a different language
Yeah, I followed the instructions line by line. I have already tried reinstalling the enhancement pack but that didn't help. I have to add, its only the destination displays on the inner coaches which show every destination at once. Never seen a train terminating at all stations at once in my life
Do they show every destination when Playing the game or just setting it up.? Did you Run the ‘InstallAP700EPPatch’ bat file.?
It's contstant, even when changing destination displays. I did run the bat file. The possibility exists that the bat file may not have run correctly, as I wasn't really paying attention to whatever the bat file was doing. I'll try again in a bit.
The reason I couldn't open the readme with Notepad, which I normally can, is because it is a DOCX file, not a TXT file, and I had to open it with a word processor
What I meant abut the display was "it is like that when you are playing the game" not when you are setting it up?
Did you try reinstalling the AP Class 700 EP as well? I'd try just nuking it and starting from the beginning. If you uninstall the 700 pack on Steam, then make sure to delete the entire DTG\Class700Pack01 and AP\C700EP folder, you'll have a clean base to work from. Then reinstall the DTG 700, then the AP pack, and then test it to see if the destinations are working. It would probably be worth backing up both the folders I mentioned before you installed the Semaphore patch just in case it breaks it again. If it works when you reinstall it, great. If not, then there may well be an issue with your TS installation. I've seen plenty of cases where AP packs get broken for seemingly no reason that can't be fixed by reinstalling the pack. I personally haven't seen it happen for the AP 700 (and luckily it has never happened to me with any pack), but there is a slim chance it could have happened for you. Because TS doesn't have non-destructive modding*, it can be a time bomb with something bound to break eventually. *TS does have non-destructive modding in certain cases, but on the whole, it doesn't. If something is broken by a mod, there usually isn't a quick and easy way to fix it. Experience and knowledge help, but the game does have limitations.
I just tried reinstalling everything like you said, and well something interesting happened. The bat file just closed itself right after opening it, which is weird. Seems like something broke.
