The DSD goes off even when sat in the driver's seat.

With Cathcart Circle getting a new timetable does this also mean it will get TOD 4 support?

I don't think tsg would enjoy working for free considering all the effort maik and the team put into it. It's a brand new loco at this point. The cab car is a brand new train and all the expert features required a ton of work. It's not just a simple update after all

Hello, when will we get back the fast moving external external camera on consoles? It's gone since the release of TSW4. Railfanning is nearly impossible now.

First of all, the question was not for you to answer. Secondly I'm not talking about TSG. I'm talking about Dovetail. They are the publisher and have said before many times that they do not like to sell products twice but now they have no problem doing that and I'm just wondering why. Quit acting like a DTG spokesperson when you are not

Again, I don't need a response from you. I asked why DTG decided to do this, not you

Are the railroad companies asking you to make the trains less realistic to prevent unauthorized persons from using them? And how far are you prepared to go in meeting those requirements?

Dtg have to comply with their requests or the route or train if loco dlc doesn't exist at all. If dtg proceed despite receiving an answer of no, legal action can take place and nobody wants that.

Please can we have an update on the SEHS bug at Stratford International where passengers disembarking the 395 just gather by the doors? They also stay the wrong side of the yellow line. Thanks

    No

Nothing on roadmap. It would also require a license if they don't have one.

Hmm... interesting opinions. So you basically say you would ditch a layer for one of the best routes of TSW for a loco which also was used there and is absolutely authentic for the era and route, just because of a mismatch of exact year and livery?

That's an opinion I definitely do not share. I prefer driving trains over liveries and am completely fine with just a nitpicky mismatch.

I know that issues on Fife Circle are noted and forwarded. Shoutout to the support team. How soon will it be possible to see any updates, if possible to answer at this stage?

Why do you make routes so short?

    Yes.

I sit pretty firmly in the camp of prioritising gameplay over 100% accuracy, and I certainly don't care about a few years *within* an era.

However, we're talking about a route that's beloved for capturing a specific era with a lot of passion and attention to detail. 1992 is in that era, 1996 is firmly outside of it. Also keep in mind that 1996 is only the year when the new livery *started* to be introduced. But seeing all-verkehrsrot coloured trains regularly would push you all the way into the early 2000s.

You might as well say it's appropriate to let the 642 substitute for the 628 in the timetable - they're authentic for the route, and the first ones were delivered in 1998, just two years after DB started painting their trains red. What's the harm in another two years, right?

A 218 would be amazing for Niddertalbahn, not just for passenger trains but also for more freight content. But you've got to do it right.

While that is true, TSG provided the 628 in both color schemes so that it could sub into modern routes; it wouldn't be hard to add an Orientrot version of the 218. In fact, as reskins go it would be almost painfully easy, far simpler than changing the mint 628 to Verkehrsrot was.

There are long routes in tsw. The base tsw4 routes were long. Salzburg-Rosenheim was also on the long end. Lirr commuter is also 57 miles. Well it depends on your definition of long.

Are yu gonna extended to/from Port Washington, extra track between Hicksville & Floral Park on the main line, UBS ARENA station, possible three Babylon branch stations to/from Freeport & Grand Central Madison? This would b a potential a record breaking add on map with almost 60 stations, 90 miles, and 10 branches by the future?

Not looking to start a fight, but those two statements are at odds with each other. A mismatched livery means the loco is not authentic to the era. It’s the same reason I highly dislike the ICE1 layer on LFR - LED headlights have no place on a 90s route. So I’m in the same camp as mkraehe#6051.

If you don’t mind anachronisms, then more power to you but don’t ruin NID by making everyone suffer it.

That would be an elegant solution and an orient red or ocean blue beige 218 would also be tremendous for the Mainz end of LFR.

I mean 1988 to 1992 is quite huge as well. There was a certain wall that fell in that time period :D

True, but I doubt that would have made a huge difference to train operations in Glauburg-Stockheim.

When will such basic thing as holes in catenary finally be fixed? TSW4 has been out for half a year already.

I assume DTG affirm the final selling price and the higher that is, the bigger the cut they take.

Don’t misunderstand me, I hope the expert 101 and cab car are great pieces of kit, but the point being the overall loco driving in terms of physics and sounds is something we already bought and paid for. I will decide whether or not to buy straight up or wait for a sale taking all factors into account.

And as a footnote, I will have no hesitation on buying the 218 on Day One or even preorder.

yeah. I'd personally say keep the modern 218 away from NID. if people really want to drive it on there. well that's where our most favorite "we didn't have time or effort to put in 8 ECS services to a depot so use free roam" excuse is for. I would say after the 218 is released it takes 2 days and a CC livery is made where it would fit into the route. and then free roam is your best friend. I personally can't wait to see 218's all over my german routes at stations and hopefully some rescue services with them too.

At the end, we both want the 218 on Niddertalbahn but just the livery is the mismatch, isn't it? I don't think that should be a big problem to even start a fight about. I go with solicitr's opinion, that it shouldn't be too hard for TSG to create 2 or even 3 livery versions (DB traffic red, DB orient red and beige-blue or beige-red) for the 218 as they did something similar with the 628 already.

I would love to have the beige-blue livery.

It would be nice to see it get some railtours on other routes - RSN, West Rhine and DCZ just for starters.

    Hello everyone,

I've gone through and timestamped the April Roadmap last night, which highlights answers to many questions from this thread, as well as answers we were asked live during the evening that you can skim through.

As for the remaining questions in this thread unanswered, I will talk about these below, and then close the thread.
(Thank you to our team, chat moderators and some of you in the community who have provided answers to many!)

Just a quick mention that anything regarding new content that we've not yet shared details about, we won't be able to answer directly. The best place to find out about news for new upcoming releases is on our articles and within these monthly Roadmap updates.

Q: Additional functionality with Livery Editor? (eg. Saving logos as groups, Splitting up EMUs/DMUs)
Our teams are always looking at elements to improve with Livery Editor alongside reported issues, currently, we don't have any specifics to share.

Q: Any update on texture blurring on recent routes for console platforms?
Our teams are investigating various issues with texture resolution on some consoles. We don't have any news to share yet and we'll keep you updated on this.

Q: Additional Xbox reported issues (Eg. Z-fighting, distant scenery)
Matt mentioned Z-fighting in more detail during our March roadmap livestream at 1:07:18, unfortunately, we don't yet have an update and our teams are still working through reports for additional reported issues specifically raised for Xbox platforms.

Q: News on unmentioned projects in this Roadmap? (Eg. Tadami Line, 420, ATS, PF 104)
We have many different ongoing projects with various timelines, we won't always update you on these each month and that can be due to either little progress to show, not being ready to announce more details, or our team planning when it's best to reveal more information. We always aim to keep you informed on news when we have it with these projects, so keep an eye out for more announcements if they've not been spoken about in this update. I talked about this last night on our April Roadmap at 1:06:08.

Q: When can we expect PC Editor improvements?
We've spoken about our plans for these improvements needing more time (likely in the scale of months as we move into Summer). Additionally, Matt mentioned in last night's livestream that we're putting together resources to speed up the delivery of these improvements. As for what we're targeting first, we're still aiming at the core list of changes we outlined in previous roadmaps which involves the ability to package files for distribution, use landscape materials and rediscovery of files when loading the Editor. Of course, we'll also target any other improvements for this feature that we can include in an update.

Q: Can we have the screens of the locos in free mode and timetable mode to know which loco the name represents?
UI improvements, especially for greater accessibility with players, are extremely important and a keen area our teams want to include. This is a good suggestion that I will make sure our teams are aware of to support the recognisability of locos when using these features.

Q: What year will the new Cathcart Circle timetable be set in?
We'll share more news on the Class 380, including the Cathcart timetable, closer to the release of the add-on. To keep expectations set, there currently aren't any plans to update Cathcart Circle route features alongside the Class 380.

Q: Can we share more information for the Expert DB BR 101 (Eg. pricing, services, layers, substitution, liveries)
We'll talk more about this release more in upcoming roadmaps, including various details that have been requested and deeper development dives. Right now the only available information is what we've shared on our current April roadmap section.

Q: Any more information with the DB BR 218? (Eg. services, layers, information)
Similar to the Expert 101, we'll aim to talk more about key information for the 218 in following roadmap and news announcements.

Q: More information about LIRR Commuter?
We talk in detail about the upcoming LIRR Commuter release on our live stream from 18:40, and Matt shares information about the service counts. You can expect us to give more specific details in the following weeks as we approach the pre-order, preview and release on April 30th.

Q: Any news on more route remasters?
We've seen the amazing feedback from the recent WSR remaster, and various members of our teams have been taking on personal projects and pitching ideas for what they'd like to look at next. We've not got anything to reveal just yet, but we're looking forward to sharing more information with you all soon!

Q: Any update on Azuma issues?
We are aiming at addressing key issues with the Class 801 Azuma (DSD alarm, Gangways) with the next core update after the Spring core this week (Likely a "Summer" core, but we will confirm closer to the time). Alongside other key improvements and fixes, this future core update will aim specifically at issues raised on UK add-ons, including ECML and the Azuma, raised from community feedback. We will share more details when we're able to confirm what will be included.

Q: When can we expect Fife Circle improvements?
The Rivet Games team are working hard on getting these ready, but we haven't yet confirmed the timeline, or what patch these will be included within just yet. Once the teams have been able to confirm the improvements, and we've had a chance to review them through our QA process, then we will be able to share information on when you can expect them.
