Saw elsewhere a screenshot that AP have announced in the newsletter (something i never get despite being signed up for it) they are working on the new pacer EP
Well, you wouldn't have received one before now as this is their first ever one lol. Check your spam folder for this one maybe? It will go to the same e-mail that you get your order confirmations sent to. If not double check you actually did sign up because I've had the newsletter.
you got any more information on it rather than that screenshot above just had a look and yup have been signed up since it was an option
In the newsletter they actually say its a new piece of rolling stock pack. So sounds like its a new model as well rather than an EP
It will be interesting to see how this compares to the old one, which was, let's be honest, not amazing.
Have to say that I’m really looking forward to this. I missed the last 142, so I have a load of scenarios that are missing it. I swapped in the DTG one for some, but still didn’t have the correct liveries. Going to be using Locoswap a lot when this comes out!
I liked the feature of the other pack of passengers randomly appearing in the train and emptying at your final destination, a feature not added to any other rolling stock as far as I am aware? Yes I too have never received notifications from AP even though I'm signed up!
The 142 in the picture might be the old AP one as the doors don't look right. Like the DTG version that came with Bi-Fold Bus Doors Sorry - could not resist that picture Later they got two single leaf doors at each doorway Peter
There were some used by SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) and also the Canadian company VIA. There may have well been more, as believe it or not, we tried to sell this travesty of a rail vehicle to other countries.
The AP version had both kinds of doors. The original in PVR livery had the bi-fold doors, and all the other liveries had the more modern doors.
The AP version doors do or did exist in real life. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/dmus--317081630018851890/ So technically the model is accurate in regards to doors.
Ok, My Bad - It looked like the AP 142 in the small picture had the old doors - which it would not have in First North Western livery.
I like the idea of a newsletter. Unfortunately, I forgot to check back on the sale. A shame as I might have had a few spare bucks for that. Oh well, guess there's always next time. LOL
Yup, there will be another sale someday, who knows maybe some of the newer packs may even have a (small) discount in the next one
Yeah, usually three a year. I wound up not getting the 87 last time and suspect this would have been the time to do it. Another four months, I guess.
Anyone read the new newsletter? Just found it in my junk mail. They are going to be doing an enhancement of the London Bedford route. From the images it looks brilliant. Going to be using the signal pack too. I hope they can do more as well.
I did. I literally did not receive it. I wonder if it's just going through a large mailing list and hasn't gotten to me yet. It didn't go to spam before. EDIT: Turns out I didn't have it set on for some reason. Well then.
It looks as though they are contributing to the project too so seems like a bit of a pointless thing for 390001 to say. Generally, if a product is published by a company, it's completely fair to refer to it as their product.
Don’t mean to start an argument here but I wouldn’t say it’s for “fun” in my opinion; it’s good to correct people but also be open to yourself being corrected. After all you don’t want misinformation being spread around!
I've seen a post about this route somewhere and the pictures look superb however I would have liked to see it go to Leicester like the excellent MML London Leicester route on the workshop.
I agree. The thing missing from the network is Leicester to Bedford, so adding that on to the route and finding a connection to the point of origin for JT's Leicester would be the thing to bring the entire route network to fruition. With the exception of Sheffield-Doncaster and Leeds, maybe, unless JT is quietly doing that somewhere.
I read somewhere that JT are not doing much with TSC and have turned their attention to TSW. The Buxton line extension to the Hope Valley route is bing done as third part project.
Ah, so if the third party decides to do the final extensions, that's up to them and JT will publish them to connect the route, but they are not actively working (much) on TSC now. That said, if Feather River Canyon is any indication, I have concerns that the price point for this might become that of a normal full route for something that would actually require the original route, a different setup than FRC. I like that the route is getting some love, but given the fact that other payware assets are required, the cost of this should be more minimal to encourage people looking to get it to possibly buy the other assets instead of asking for 100 pounds (signals, weather, possibly clouds, and I'm exaggerating a total slightly) for an enhanced route of new buyers. With the requirements for this route, I'd hope there is some consideration for the fact that the signals alone already cost only one pound less than the original 2013 MML route, 8 pounds less than other fairly recent routes, like Suburban Glasgow, and just over half price of the newest routes (see FRC Enhanced). A high price point could turn off a lot of customers here especially because there is a need for us to convert through banks trying to make their own profit off of us, thereby costing those people more. That said, extend it to Leicester and provide the original point of origin for that station and we are talking a possible reason for an increased price, maybe even a full route price (personal view is around 25 pounds at this point providing discounts for the signals and other things to make it easier to get needed assets, or a route discount if you already bought those yourself), maybe even selling through JT as an extension for the route as a buying option. That said, if Wherry Lines is any indication, I imagine this will be fantastic.
