So, I recently had an idea that would elevate the game greatly in my opinion; the ability to set trains on automated paths, then hop in a separate train and run independently from the automated train. Mostly I just think it would make the world feel a lot more alive instead of everything feeling kinda empty (like it does now). It would also be nice if this feature was accessible from a menu where the in-game time was paused so you could set multiple trains and have them run at the same exact time, mainly because it would be cool to run races in this game (and I know you can do it because it was a feature in some Train Simulator releases). Please, Dovetail, it would be epic!
