On Edinburgh Glasgow the 0830 departure from Queen Street, I forget the headcode but it's an 0828 start i think, calls at Bishopbriggs but then fast from Falkirk to Haymarket. Catches up the one in front so plenty of AWS on the second half of the service

    Thanks for volunteering!

We just need a couple of more folks to step forward to have a committee going! Anyone else out there who wants to join in should send me a DM with an email so that I can provide write access to the spreadsheets.

As of now, the spreadsheets are updated to the Frankfurt S Bahn release date and my original It's Time for a Change post.

    Köln - Aachen
    New (Revised) Timetable

15:24 | FLX 1239 Aachen Hbf to Dresden Hbf

    Recognising the fact that I may just be a very aggressive driver and hit Duren early;

You'll be chasing yellows/reds on your way into Duren as you chase an RE1 Service. You'll then have to sit in the fast line and watch as an S-Bahn service departs before the RE1 service departs ahead of you.

Around Buir you'll pass the aforementioned S-Bahn service as well as both an ICE and S-Bahn going towards Duren/Aachen - while still chasing the RE1 train, so don't stare for long and definitely don't go over the limit!
You'll get to overtake the RE1 service when it pulls in at Horrem - from there it's smooth sailing until arrival at Köln.

You see a fair number of AI Trains - indicative of Joe's great work on this timetable - in a variety of 442, 423, 642 and ICE, and that's before you even reach Köln.

I arrived 5 Minutes early (looking at the debrief I was a bit slow to react to speed limit changes and I was also aggressively chasing the red signals rather than keeping a slower pace) but I imagine it'll be much the same experience for you.

Drove it much more conservatively (except the part I was looking at the other screen, missed a 1000 Hz magnet and got Zwangsbremsed), still had to deal with plenty of traffic and made it to Köln early, nice service indeed :)

Frankfurt S-Bahn: ICE 1022 at 15:42 with the BR 401 (full timetable)
A lot of pzb action entering Mainz, and a BR403 overtaking you in the tunnel

Just so correct info can be added to the spreadsheet at some point I believe this service is 1R26 Glasgow to Edinburgh in the 4 car Class 385. The yellows and reds are between Falkirk and Haymarket. Nice run recommendation!

    Thanks

I happened to be on the real thing a couple of weeks ago, thought the calling pattern was a bit odd, and wondered if it was in the sim. Experience is almost identical

On SouthEastern High Speed with the 465, 1B91 Ramsgate to Cannon Street, runs fast from Faversham to Gillingham but catches up and closely follows the service ahead. Adverse signals for the majority of the route.

Just did a nice run with some route hopping from Wiesbaden over Mainz, Frankfurt, Fulda to Kassel that isn't on noir's list
    ICE 672
    -Frankfurt S-Bahn at 4:58
    -Frankfurt Fulda 5:48
    -Kassel wurzburg at 6:45
    Arrival in Kassel at 7:19

I drove it 30 april, the sun has just raised over the horizon

Between Mainz and Frankfurt you catch up with a S-train
Between frankfurt and Hanau you'll be routed on a different path trough Frankfurt sud
Kassel wurzburg is just to complete the journey

Is no one else able to join me to keep these spreadsheets updated and take load off OP? Don't be shy ladies and gents ;)

I am not able to do them on my own due to time commitments. I'm sure that a few of us could, together.

If no one else volunteers then I will take it on myself but I'm not going to be anywhere near as dilligent as JustWentSouth on my own. So if anyone else can spare just a bit of time it'd be so appreciated.

I am truly grateful to both of you for taking this on. Many, many thanks! If you will DM me with your email address, I will add you both as an author on the spreadsheets.

In the meantime, I found some time and decided to get you started with a clean slate. Spreadsheets are up to date!

The Kelsterbach Turn on Frankfurt S-Bahn in the DB BR 430:
    Start in
S8 (36854) Frankfurt (Main) Hbf to Kelsterbach at 18:36; a routine run.

Return to free roam and switch ends for the ECS return to stable the train in Frankfurt. This run is
S8 (36854) Empty depot move Frankfurt (Main) Hbf at 18:59 and it is 22 minutes of pure Frankfurt S-Bahn goodness!

You wait for an S8 to depart and then follow it and an ICE. Two different stops for crossing trains with wrong track running and a sneaky "call the dispatcher" red ground signal near the end.

I hate to request unpaid labor for things that I don’t have the time or the technical ability to do, but it would be awesome if:
    - the spreadsheets were converted to a searchable database with a web interface that could be sorted/filtered by route and other characteristics
    - DTG were to give official approval to the project so that community-recommended timetable services were flagged in the menu screen

Nice one. You just have to make sure you're completely in the Kelsterbach station, past the signal towards Frankfurt, otherwise you derail :)

I agree, but I have no idea how to do that. I did do a better job of grouping the routes and locos in the TSW3-5 sheet than I did in the TSW1-2 sheet.

I also think that more official DTG involvement here might be helpful. This thread is one of the few positive places left in these forums and I think does a great job promoting routes with busy timetables and lots of layers. Maintaining the quality of the sheets shouldn't be up to the whims and free time of 1 or 2 forum users. However, that runs the risk of having this project seem "self promoting" by DTG.

I can volunteer for this as well I suppose, and I can also see if I can implement some filters to the sheets.

I'll recommend a nice verstärker on Frankfurt S-Bahn: while not eventful more than usual, it's a full diagram depot to depot, using different routing than the standard S8, serving the long distance tracks and turning over the middle track at the airport. It's little over one hour, so easily can be done in one go just by "return to free roam".

    14:40 - S8 36840 - Frankfurt Außenbf - Frankfurt Hbf (hoch)
    15:06 - S8 36840 - Frankfurt Hbf (hoch) - Flughafen Regiobf
    15:24 - S8 36843 - Flughafen Regiobf - Frankfurt Hbf (hoch)
    15:46 - S8 36843 - Frankfurt Hbf (hoch) - Frankfurt Außenbf

During the service above I also noticed some unusual movement in Frankfurt, it's just few minutes so probably not sheet-worthy, but still perhaps interesting to people who visit this thread: RE50 4520 assembly. From the menu you can only select first part, which takes the usual consist (led by 143, tailed by cabcar) from Mainzer Backen to Hauptbahnhof (hoch).

There is however a "secret" second part standing already at Hbf on track 372, which is led by non-cabcar dosto, tailed by 143. You can take it over and reverse "blindly" on the parked consist. That's it though, the consist then leaves as AI-only towards Fulda. Spawn at 14:55, and grab the parked consist. At around 15:02 you can see the first part pass you towards the platform and at 15:05 your service unlocks.

Thanks - can you DM me an email addy so I can have a go at enabling you to have permission too (as presumably the three - hopefully increasing - of us will also need to manage that going forward)

So, the new management team is in place! My thanks go out to noir , aroused by trains , and jack#9468 for taking this into the next phase.

I am humbled and grateful for what the community has done with this thread. You have created a positive place in the forums where people can celebrate the best of TSW. Thanks to all here who made the escape of playing TSW so much more enjoyable.

This was largely my first foray into spreadsheets ... and it shows! I look forward to seeing where it goes from here. In the meantime, I will be checking in to post some runs and drop some likes when I have time.

    With deep gratitude, JWS

EDIT: there seems to be a deadlock upon leaving Frankfurt Hbf that has resolved itself for me initially. Upon trying again it doesn't clear for me either. If you want to complete this service the only sure way seems to be deleting the train blocking you from leaving Frankfurt Hbf.

I have found a great one today.

RE2 (4252) Frankfurt (Main) Hbf to Koblenz Hbf with the BR425 on the new Frankfurt S-Bahn route with the normal (PC) timetable. Take your train for a peak time morning hop to Koblenz with a lot of surprises along the way. I believe this is a GOAT candidate.

After leaving the platform in Frankfurt you get held at a red for a good 10 minutes or so. After it finally clears you will be following an S8 service all the way to the end for a LOT of PzB action. There are lots of opportunities for getting Zwangsbremmsunged and some SPAD potential. It's great fun to try to make up for the initial delay, but in the end, I don't think it's possible.

I found a set of runs on Frankfurt S-Bahn which nicely interact with eachother:
    • DGS (42504) Frankfurt (Main) Ost - Antwerpen Zuid 17:58
    • DGS (40654) Oradea - Zeebrugge 18:24
    • DGS (41437) Ehrang Nord - Schwarzedz 18:24
    • ICE (1657) Wiesbaden Hbf - Dresden Hbf 18:24
The trains meet at near Wiesbaden Ost Gbf and while the incoming freight train from Frankfurt is waiting to enter the freight yard, the other three are lining up leaving Wiesbaden.

I can particularily recommend DGS (41437):

When leaving Wiesbaden Ost Gbf following the other intermodal freight train, you're are overtaken by the ICE from Wiesbaden Hbf. The ICE merges between the two freight trains. In Main Hbf, there is some congestion and you have to wait before you can continue to Mainz Bischofsheim. PZB action results from the traffic situation and there is a Ersatzsignal Zs 1 to enter the yard in Mainz Bischofsheim.

In addtion to the encounters near Wiesbaden Hbf, there is nice AI traffic into Main and further to Bischofsheim: parallel, oncoming, crossing.

DGS (42654) is also nice and the ICE run too.

Is that the full timetable? i am never getting a green light as i seem to be in a deadlock with the RB22 to Hochst that is routed into my platform.

An old one, and a not particularly busy one, but I recently played the Eastbourne End scenario and East Coastway, and really enjoyed it - it's late evening, the scenery is nice, it has a really chilled, late summer evening feel. A relaxing scenario, rather than a challenging one.
