IC 118/119 dont Go over this route, they are Dortmund/Münster to Innsbruck services and go from Germany via Lindau and the Arlbergbahn. might be something for Vorarlberg, but not Salzburg Rosenheim.

Edit: IC 118 did apparently start at Salzburg in 2013 but then went non stop until Kufstein, so would be AI only

    Yes, it did.
As Rosenheim is non important for any Austrian train, thats the problem with every service either from Salzburg to Munich or Kufstein.
Thats why I'm saying for gameplay reasons it would be nice to get a stop in Rosenheim.

But I think we sorted it out, thats good :)

The best German route so far. Excellent br 111, great timetable and beautifully crafted scenery.

I actually really like the track/DLC too. :) In general, the variety of vehicles is one of the strengths of the DLC this time. So that was successful.

There's even a small branching off point (hoofbeat), which I think is nice, but unfortunately it doesn't go any further.

The 111 is a flawless model. Unfortunately, the sound is largely retort. But I can somehow live with it. All that's missing now is a clever repaint in oriental red with real DB logos.

So, things are "a little" different than in the official DTG info :o
    BR 628 | OK (NID)
BR 101 | OK (BR 101 loco add-on) (no HRR needed for this to be working)
    BR 103 | OK (LFR)
    BR 193 | OK* (Vectron loco add-on)
*1 additional service (two parts) | BR 363 layer dependency (Eanos) | AI traffic/scenery dependency (Eanos)
    BR 363 | NOT OK!
For BR 363 to be driveable we need BR 363 loco add-on & Vectron loco add-on & RSN & DRA
    BR 628 | NID
    BR 425 | BRO
    ICE 3 | KWG?
    BR 103 | LFR
BR 110 | LFR or BRO (spotted)
BR 155 | BRO or BR 155 loco add-on (spotted)

    Summary:
    SRM | base layer
Vectron loco add-on | *1 additional service (two parts) | BR 363 layer dependency (Eanos) | AI traffic/scenery dependency (Eanos)
NID | additional playable traffic & AI traffic/scenery
LFR | additional playable traffic & static seasonal museum exhibit at Freilassing (BR 103, BR 110)
BRO | scenery rolling stock | AI BR 425
DRA | BR 363 layer dependency
BR 101 loco add-on | additional playable traffic
    BR 363 | BR 363 layer dependency & maybe AI traffic/scenery
BR 155 | static seasonal museum exhibit at Freilassing (BR 155)
    RSN | BR 363 & BR 155 dependency

    ICE 3? Which DLC? KWG?
Let's buy "everything" to find out ;)

    EDIT updated

    ...
BR 155 | BRO or BR 155 loco add-on (has to be verified)
    ...
BR 155 | scenery mentioned by DTG ~ I did not check

I wouldn't miss my beloved 155. The one from RSN is confirmed. She was spotted in scenery and even hauling freight (eanos and tankers). Didn't spot the PRESS ...... yet.

I would venture the 110 is dependent on BRO, because the LFR version is in Orientrot livery

Using repurposed 110 sounds for some (NOT all) of the 111 sound suite is a very minor sin, because the 111 in many respects is an updated 110 with much of the same equipment, including the main transformer and traction motors.

But why on EARTH would you want horrible ugly pinkish-brick-red Orientrot??????? With that ghastly white bib-thing????????

If we really want to be nitpicky, only 111s with road numbers from 001-146 should have scissor pantograps (Model 54); later ones were all delivered with single-arm pantos (Model 65)

Because different people have different tastes, simple as that. ;)
Personally, the Produktfarben era is by far my favorite period of German railroad history, both traction and color-wise, and I know quite a few people who feel the same way.

I like the coach colors of the PF era, and the rainbow variety they brought. It's just Orientrot that I find intensely disagreeable. DB must have felt the same way, since they adopted a different red after just a decade.

(Just for myself, I find ivory/ocean blue the most attractive of DB liveries, not counting the TEE/IC red and beige. But nostalgia votes for the old chromoxidgrün and kobaltblau.)

Perhaps, but it probably had more to do with wanting to rebrand into the "modern and reformed" Deutsche Bahn AG and leave the Bundesbahn behind for good.

Ozeanblau-Elfenbein is definitely my second favorite, but that also only lasted three years longer that the Produktfarben that replaced it.
The biggest problem with those liveries was that they were very much products of their time, in hindsight it's quite obvious that they were gonna fall out of fashion sooner rather than later. Say what you will about the somewhat samey Verkehrsrot, but it stood the test of time a lot better than its predecessors. 28 years and counting is no small feat for a corporate design.

I found a YouTube video, showing this exact route, from the cab of a BR111, from Rosenheim to Salzburg.
The video is from August 2012, but I believe the route must be mostly the same.
    Hopes you liked it!

Because there are actually people who have different opinions and different tastes.

    Where is the problem? ;)

I would say that DB's current long-distance (IC/ICE) color scheme is the most boring in decades. For so many years, just white with a boring red stripe. A little more courage with color would be nice here.

Well, I think there were a couple of factors, and the new Deutsche Bahn corporate identity was a factor. But there was also a practical side: for one, the pigment used in Orientrot was not very resistant to UV light; it faded badly, and quickly became a matte, rusty-rose-brickish color. Verkehrsrot looks good for a lot longer. For two, using the same two colors for everything greatly simplified the complexity of maintaining a large fleet of rolling stock, compared to the rainbow of paints Produkfarben required.

And there i completely agree! Something like, oh I don't know, maybe beige above and deep crimson below?

I don’t mind it as much as long as we still have 101s in bright red in IC consists but now that her time is almost up, we get 146s and 147s in the same matching livery… They didn’t even make an effort to at least connect the red stripes on the front and the sides.

I absolutely love the ICE-themed IC livery, I think it looks gorgeous. The boring one for me was the half-traffic red half-white they used from 1996-2000, between this and the equally gorgeous Orient red and pastel pink. The 86-96 Produktfaben liveries are probably my favourite ever.

Anyway, the route! First impressions are great - already in my top four TSW routes. It's a route I like IRL, both a busy and important trunk route and very scenic, and it's very well done. Excellent layering too. It shows what can be done with TSW.

Having a lot of fun with it, kudos to DTG! It shows they still have the patience to make a great route. Best new route since Dresden-Riesa (just counting the German/Austrian ones). And the 111 is a joy to drive

Yes a cut above some preceding releases. Good length route too, nearly 90km if my end to end run completion tally is correct. Also getting more out of the 111 after discovering if you wiggle the traction fan switch about a bit, you can kill it and the invasive noise to enjoy the actual motor sound more.

Just bought it- one of only three routes in ages I have paid full price for (Niddertal, Blackpool, Salzburg). Quality releases do make more money.... BTW, the 111 is a fabulous loco model.

Without any intention of contesting the magnificent nature of the release, would you consider appropriate an additional charge, for the sole purpose of having a working handbrake?

As a side note, this is directly inherited from an unfixed bug on the 110, just to show how much care went into the configuration of this "fabulous" model...

Perhaps, a better course of action is to join the ecstatic rapture of the major forum "characters", even encouraging their brutal, but supposedly precious, work of repression (as seen done by the usual suspects in the feedback thread).

If you want to nit-pick, at least pick an important nit, like the lack of an internal connector between the cabs, or perhaps the fact that the dashboard is a slightly wrong shade of blue (that at least we look at constantly). The functionalty of the Parking brake, in TSW, is about as important as the functionality of the thermostat.

If the 111 model was built on the foundation of the 110- well, why not? The real 111 was developed from the 110.

similar to OBB 1044 and its successor 1144... 1144 is pretty much the powerhouse of 1044, just with fixed stuff by Austrian magicians (engineers :D )

This has been a bug since the release. everything taking the same route the freight train is going into salzburg. blocking outbound tracks for no good reason. I'm testing timetable timings and speed for myself and as you can see. with a single go via marker I can put trains on the right path. is this being looked into for a hopeful future patch or does this need to keep getting mentioned? 20240327140241_1.jpg

I picked this route up on sale last week and is instantly one of my favourite routes to date. A great variety of rolling stock and player options. You can drive just about anything on this route and I really enjoy these crossboarder routes when done well just like this.

Even though I got this on sale because I had my doubts it is well worth the full price in my opinion.

    More like this please DTG.
