The Nürnberg–Regensburg line would be a great addition to Train Sim World because it could offer a varied German railway experience, combining regional, intercity and freight-style operations over a scenic and busy route. The inclusion of several different trains would give the route plenty of variety and different driving experiences. The DB Class 143 with X-Wagen coaches and an X-Wagen control car would recreate classic Nürnberg-area S-Bahn operations, while the DB 442 Talent 2 would provide a modern regional experience. The DB Class 111 with Doppelstock coaches would add another classic locomotive-hauled regional service, giving players the chance to experience push-pull operations. Meanwhile, ICE-T services could provide high-speed intercity traffic, contrasting with the slower regional trains. The route itself would also provide a good mixture of environments, from the busy Nürnberg approaches through towns such as Neumarkt (Oberpfalz) and Parsberg, before reaching Regensburg. Players would experience frequent station stops, faster regional running, gradients, curves and longer stretches of main-line running. Overall, the combination of classic and modern rolling stock, S-Bahn, Regional-Express and ICE services, plus varied scenery and operations would make Nürnberg–Regensburg a particularly diverse route for Train Sim World.
