And yet your comment is trying to "one up" FS over TSW...? I personally don't think I'm better than anyone else or anything else, but at least be realistic that there is a huge capability difference between a global technology leader since the eighties and a software company that's still learning how to use a third party engine, let alone maximise the output on three different hardware platforms
Fingers crossed for either WCML Crewe-Mcr, Preston-Carlisle. Virgin stock if licensed. If Pendolino and Voyager available-great! If not then.. Class 87,90,DVT. Mk3 stock. Class 142 pacer. EWS maroon 66 from GWE as a sub layer with containers or cement.
Fingers crossed yes but Preston to Carlisle is 90 miles, not happening unless the $#*!@) comes out and someone builds it. Crewe to Man Picc would be nice but probably a barren wasteland, like Leeds and Manchester are in NTP. There are definite improvements in how the DTG staff use the UE engine with every release, here's hoping for some cab sway and environment tweaks....and a modern UK route too
I dont see Preston Carlisle as too long. Given how rural much of it is. 30 miles in a Pendolino is too short.
What's some high speed electric lines that could be done. I personally love British high speed rail because of the design of the engines.
A few routes I’d love to see are; York - Doncaster - Retford - East Coast Main Line Gospel Oak - Barking- GOBLIN line - London Overground London Victoria - Brighton - Brighton Main Line Crew - Manchester Piccadilly/Manchester Airport branch - West Coast Main Line Penzance - Truro - Cornish Main Line Bristol Parkway - Cardiff Central - Great Western Main Line
remember when we all thought we'd be getting TSW virgin trains content after this: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/our-visit-to-virgin-trains that aged well :'D
Could still be the next US route since Virgin trains USA launched recently, also known as Brightline I believe.
Imagine if we did have a stretch of the WCML, it would be Euston - Watford or Lime St to Runcorn, or how about Crewe - Stafford! That's how short the routes seem to be now
So DTG announced on Twitter that they will be retiring all Virgin Trains content on TS2020, due to license issues I presume. I guess that rules out any hope of Virgin content in TSW Link:https://twitter.com/railsimulator/status/1200445755804258304
Well that is really Virgin West Coast, doesn't mean we won't see any Virgin East Coast in the future if they can get a licence for it.
Virgin East Coast disappeared even earlier, so I doubt you'll see anything with that branding, Virgin are notoriously strict regarding their IP, which is their right, but I don't mind not having Branson related in-game.
So while East Coastway is coming in just under 2 weeks time, it seems like DTG is already prepping 3 more DLC's to come afterwards, since these popped up in the steamdb today: Depot 1113820 name: Train Sim World DLC 21 (1113820) Depot Depot 1113821 name: Train Sim World DLC 22 (1113821) Depot Depot 1113822 name: Train Sim World DLC 23 (1113822) Depot So does anyone want to get the speculation going? Link: https://steamdb.info/app/530070/history/
My tips right now are: US freight-heavy route German electric locomotive UK DMU or the long-requested LIRR diesel(TM) (can't remember USA loco designations if my life depended on it)
Let's hope the DL arcticle headlines will turn out to be at least SOMEWHAT like this: The Vigorous V90 The Dreaded DE30AC The Pacer Pest
There are no rumors. It's confirmed that all Virgin content for the Train simulator will be removed from the store because DTG does not have a license for it anymore. https://twitter.com/railsimulator/status/1200445755804258304
I think with the way people are spoken to on here for having an opinion or an idea, or even a comparison! Are put down for it, but I’d say ignore them and continue
I agree with you about what is going on here in the forums. Too many times I am seeing people being put down or negatively talked to sometimes quite rudely. Like you I to will continue to ignore them and move and contribute to the forums.
Meh it’s not a bother to me as I can log out lol but for the many whom this is an escape i feel for you all. I had to kindly tell another member to ease off me personally as i felt all I said here was a personal attack. But yes I hope this thread continues. I like the speculation. I hope the next UK route will be another third rail one, hopefully South Eastern Mainline from Victoria to Eastbourne as that will link the two addons together, I gather there’s a method to DTGs choosing of Eastbourne ;-)
Since we got the beautiful 422 ... I crave for S-Bahn Rhein-Main Wasn't mentioned there are three new things coming soon? We got two, what do you think will be the third? It's very British at the moment ... ;-)
I'm hoping it's so they can get the 170 in the game. That thing gets everywhere at the moment, and is probably easier to work into other routes more easily than a third rail unit
We haven't got any of these three things. There are still three empty depots and three unused DLCs on Steamdb.
Still hoping for a freight-centric US route since i can't get HH on console. Also loco DLC for LIRR and GWE are sorely overdue.
The last American routes had not so much freight action. So I hope that we get a heavy freight route with shunting and loading-/unloading action too. I really like the heavy and powerful American diesellocomotivs. A route in a desert region would be nice.
I would prefer a route that is not double tracked throughout. I much prefer dealing with AI trains when one of us has to take a siding. I have spent most of my 40 TSW hours on Heavy Haul, Peninsula Corridor, and Ruhr-Sieg Nord and enjoyed the all! Of the routes I have yet to purchase or sample, are there any with single track mains and a reasonable amount of traffic?
I hope the next USA route is freight centric. Heavy hauling, plenty of shunting and perhaps some occasional passenger train. I probably wouldn't get it because it's not my cup of tea, but there are many people who would enjoy it. Plus this type of route is currently missing for the folks on consoles and that that deserves to be fixed.
Being a console player, I find myself longing for a route similar to Heavy haul. There really is something special about USA freight operations. I would love to see a USA freight route set in the mid west. Set on a mountain where with steep grades that would make for a great challenge. Something similar to this North Dakota freight route!
I'm going to quote this (from the cab sway thread) as a bit of baseless speculation. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Class 395 will be hauling US Freight on the transcontinental railroad set in the 1890s (the whole thing, coast to coast). But yes, I guess I wouldn't be entirely surprised if something javelin-y turned up at some point, especially given it has appeared in TS20xx.
What would be nice is some proper DB high speed ICE services with LZB. Or other parts of the UK, Scotland even
As this is speculation any ideas on extending GWE to Oxford / Bristol? The proposals that made me sign up here were and are still are very good ideas
