I just sent my latest model pack to the Train Sim Community site for approval. The are 10 buildings that where located around the Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley's Laurel Line Wilkes-Barre, PA Yard. These 10 buildings can be used on any route for siding industries or scenery. These buildings are based off of the refence pictures I have of the old rail yard as it looked in the 1940's and 1950's. Only the Thomas and Bravman buildings still stand today. The Wilkes-Barre Steam Heat Authority building only has it's smoke stacks and the front offices still in place. Why the smoke stacks weren't demolished is anybody's clue? The rest of the plant was removed in the late 1990's. Most of these other buildings were removed in 1972 after Hurricane Agnus flooded and destroyed most of the old railroad infrastructure in Wilkes-Barre. Today a local newspaper occupies most of this area.
Even though I don't build American routes yet, and don't have much interest in American railroading, these assets look well built. Nice job!
I'm using the Horseshoe route as a base for the Laurel Line...It there right era, and the right location. The building pack has been approved now and is available at the Train Sim Community site, in the asset section.
