Correct the EL11 2089. refitted for operation on Flåmsbana. Electro brake and magnetlicy brakepads going down to the rails if you hit the emergency brake.
Norwegian Railway Club's charter train did a tour from Oslo to Bergen and back. We did a long whistle before we came out of the tunnel to the trainstation. I never seen so many cameras pointing at the train before.

Of course we did a stop at Finse

I was there a few years ago myself, it's an amazing area. Myrdal to Flam would have come in nicely on TSC.

    Yes and no.
It is a branch line that has no freight and just one class of loco EL18 top and tail on 6 passenger coaches.
Having driven up and down what else is there to do?

The landscape is very nice, if anything, and it would be relatively easy to build that route. A thousand times easier and quicker than building the whole Bergensbanen.

It's also the steepest adhesion-only railway in the world

elatn Could you please also upload the new reskin for the Vy passenger coaches? Or did you not get permission to use it from the original author?

No, while it is quite steep it's not as steep as some Swiss adhesion narrow gauge line, for example the Bernina and the Arosa lines (if we want to look for lines available in TSC). Possible the steepest normalgauge adhesion line?

Actually the Flamsbanen (Myrdal-Flam-Myrdal) isn't even in the top 10 of steepest adhesion line, there are many above it including in Germany, Austria, Switzerland but also Japan and the United States.

    No.
Boppard–Emmelshausen in Germany is 1 in 16.4 and used class 213 Diesel locos and two coaches when I visited it.
The Höllentalbahn in Germany has the same gradient as the Flam line

Waiting for approval at Train Sim Community now :)

Hello Spikee, do you have found any solution regarding the crash of Bergensbanen in 64 bit?

The issue is in the newS folder. Rename that and the route will load. (without signals).

I am still puzzled why it works on a clean installation and not on my full one, but I do have a suspicion. I'll keep you updated.

Until then, I see no problem starting the 32bit version :D

I don't have a clean install of the game and the route loads in fine 64-bit :) But I might be missing some of newS content? (I do have the signals)

Can you pack "newS\Sweden" and "newS\Norway" folders and attach them here / upload to a filehoster like workupload.com? Now I'm curious if you have different versions of the signals/scripts than we have.

The passenger coaches have been added, thank you so much for your work and I hope you continue with creating new content :)

    Now it's getting interesting.

I have two different versions of the newS scripts. On the right hand side is Oystein's files - which are missing some scripts but also have different versions.

I will clone my newS folder and overwrite it with Oystein's files and see if it fixes issues. Of course, noone but newS knows what changes were made and why. EDIT: Didn't change anything. Must be some of the other scripts Oystein does not have. This is a real bugger.

It is clear to see the version I have has been tampered with a lot of times. That's the thing with freeware assets - some modified versions are distributed instead of creating new assets. That same thing broke the Yelland semaphore signals, which was fixed by reinstalling the original UKTS packs.

    2024-06-03 18_17_16-Window.png

This now needs removing the signal scripts using the 50/50 method until we can nail the bugger and inspect it.

The scripts provided by Oystein were made in 2008 if the comments are to be believed. "newS" was one of the first content creators for RS (and probably everyone has his European Container Pack in the Kuju folder...)

I believe I got the signals along with a "Swedish test route" published by newS on his website. Not 100% sure. I was actually looking for the tracks, which I haven't found in any standalone pack.

These should all be part of the Bergensbanen asset pack.

I didn't download that pack since I don't want to fill up my Assets folder with old content. I just tested Bergensbanen again, its been some years since last time I had it. Sadly routes without superelevated tracks isn't my thing. I've been thinking of upgrading the trackwork but it's just too much work. I'll try to finish my route project of the northern part of Nordlansbanen instead.

You're building which portion of the Nordlandsbanen?

He said "the northern part" so my guess would be Bodø - Mosjøen

That would be great, but Rognan is my first target. Track is done between Bodø and Fauske. This already gives a scenario duration about 40-50 minutes, and six stations in total. But the route is quite empty right now. I'll make a thread later on when I have some more progress.

Just one question, did you create your own signs with the same name as newS:s signs? Bergensbanen uses newS signs and your signs must not be overwritten, because otherwise there will be chaos in Bergensbanen.

  26. Spikee1975

    Spikee1975 Guest

But that is what happens. The Bergensbanen pack overwrites original newS signals and scripts - see my screenshot above.

But then, I have reasons to believe the issue might be fixed on core level with a future update.

I haven't even had the time to prove it's the signal scripts - there's a lot more scripts in the newS folder which could come into play.

The signs I made are in a separate provider and product folder, and doesn't do anything with newS signs.
I have since then made new ones with better quality and correct font.

I have a mini request about your EL18 repaints, just a personal preference really. Would it be possible for you to somehow add the change of numbering on locomotives? That way for instance the Vy repaint isn't always numbered 18 2241.

It should be located here Assets\N3DT, and a new version in Assets\3DTog

Oystein I wonder if there was a Class NS DE6400 with blue Grenland Rail repaint in the file archive on trainsimulator .no somewhere before, but I can't find it anymore. Do you know where I can find it?

I have it (I made it :)), but if I'm not wrong ChirsTrains did update the model and textures so the uv's doesn't match. I could give it a try and see if it still works, I will then upload it again.

Just tested it and it works, but as pasictarik10 says the numbers has a missing texture.
I will update it and upload it again, together with the new EuroDual liveries.

Speaking of things no longer working following updates, the Ofotbanen hasn't worked for me for about a year in 32 bits or 64 bits.

And this is the culprit. Ofotbanen used the original signals and scripts by newS.

If you install Bergensbanen, it will replace some of these. That's no good design - you just do not alter someone else's assets.

Bergensbanen needs an overhaul by its author. Clone the signals and keep the original ones intact. Everything else is a mess. I will install the supplied newS and KMW assets from Ofotbanen - they seem to be the original ones.

Yeah that's exactly the problem: One update screwing everything up and now you have a situation where one or both routes do not work in certain versions.

It apparently works with the earlier versions of Bergensbanen-Assets but not the ones from 2021 onwards.

I recently discovered this NO H2 signal staying in "Kjør" (Clear) signal when I was entering Haugastøl track 2 driving to Bergen. I had to move the original signal so I could manage to get long trains in track 2.

In reality, there may not be long trains in Bergensbanen.

Passenger trains have up to around 10 coaches these days. Freight trains can be a lot longer though, 20-30 container cars, usually a mix of older two-axle ones and the modern six-axle articulated types.

Where does it say "Up To"?
The coaches shown as what to expect most days of the week
If you are modelling an holiday scenario than you add extra coaches
