I stand by the questions I asked and my view that they should have built the whole route not part of it. People should not be making excuses or apologies for payware developers who know quite nicely what they are getting into with a project, which is then being sold at a premium price.

DTG and Rivet could literally make a 2km route with absolutely nothing in it except for a straight track and people would still defend it.

    :)

It really is rather embarrassing, and simply not acceptable.
You can understand why ingame stuff gets missed ignored, when nobody bothered to proof read the promo....

That's just a silly thing to say and reinforces the point of view that some people here need to calm down a bit.

I quite liked everything on the stream, from sounds to scenery so it was one of the easiest pre orders for me to make. Can't wait for the route to release on 16.

Unfortunately I haven't watched the stream, any mention on the unrealistic snow transition between track and terrain?
And for me I think it's a preorder this time, had left a piece of heart on this line!

They said the 3D snow took away too much from the detailed look of the mountains.

While I do understand, surely they could have used different terrain materials, so close up terrain around the tracks use 3D snow, while the distant terrain wouldn't. Would have been a nice workaround instead of what we currently have.

Hello everyone, as promised I've timestamped all the highlights and questions from yesterday's preview, so if you want to skim through the description of this video you can find out the answers to various live questions, and from ones in this thread. Thank you to Jasper_Rivet for answering many of these in detail last night on the stream!

    Bernina Preview

As for the remaining questions in this thread, I will talk about these below, and then close the thread.
(Thank you to those who have helped answer questions already!)

Q: Why was this section of the route from Tirano up to Ospizio Bernina chosen?
This was the section that the Rivet Games team wanted to develop and focus on for the release, giving lots of opportunity to focus on scenic highlights such as the Brusio Viaduct, the Lake around Miralago and the view from Alp Grüm as some examples. It also allowed for the Italy border crossing to be included all the way up to the peak at Ospizio Bernina.

Q: Are there any extensions or future DLC planned for Bernina?
At the moment, there's nothing to announce and no plans to add any extensions or future DLC for the route. As always, follow our monthly Roadmap updates to hear the latest on future content coming to Train Sim World.

Q: Have the sounds been authentically sourced?
Rivet went out to survey the Allegra and were able the gather the sounds directly from the loco - We talked about this on our preview at 0:37:50

Q: Why does the PIS in the video say Ospizio despite no train terminating there IRL?
The main reason is due to how the technical backend of the PIS displays work, which simply reads the ending station for the service and displays that on the PIS. We talk about this at on the preview at 1:35:30

Q: Why has the RhB Anniversary Pack observation coach been included?
Despite mentions that the observation coach wouldn't run on this route in real life, it has been included to provide additional value to those who own the RhB anniversary pack, and for those who are interested in Bernina Line too. I talk about this on the preview at 2:01:45

Q: Have any lessons been learnt when it comes to building a Swiss route

Jasper talks about Rivet being proud of the mountain scenery and the Allegra loco. He talks more about what they have learned from their previous routes, including Arosa, and what they are proud of for Bernina on our preview at 0:48:50

Q: Why has the Dynamic snow feature been left out of the route?

This was an intentional decision made by Rivet to maintain the snowy visuals of the mountainous scenery in the style they wanted to achieve. Jasper talks about this on our preview at 1:13:00

Q: Are the Allegra screens usable in the cab?
Yes - We showcased this on our preview starting at 1:20:00

Q: Can we access the cargo yard in Campocologno?
    Yes.

Q: Is the Timetable from Real Life?
    Yes.

Q: What is your favourite train?
Thank you Mr JMB - Speaking for myself, since running the F7 on the Winter challenge, I think that's my new favourite - followed closely by the SD-40 and the ÖBB 4024! :)

    Update - 12/01/24 at 15:00
Regarding the safety system functionality pointed out on the preview stream, after confirming with the Rivet team, the ability to activate the safety systems has not been implemented via the cab and only works using a keyboard hotkey (Shift+Enter then Q). Due to this, any players on consoles will not be able to activate safety systems from the release of the Bernina Line Add-on.

We apologise to console players and understand this is far from ideal. We are working with the Rivet Games team to address this issue and find a solution for this. As of right now, there are a couple of proposed solutions to activate them using the cab by repurposing buttons and make them toggle the safety systems on/off, however, these will not be implemented in time for the release on Tuesday and we will share the details once we have fully confirmed the functionality.

As stated, this will only affect players on Xbox and PlayStation, and to confirm you will still be able to achieve a platinum medal.

We will update you with more information soon, once we know more. Thank you for your patience.

    Update - 15/01/24 at 15:30

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to share that we've announced an update regarding the Safety systems on the Allegra for Bernina Line - we've just announced that we've been able to address the safety system functionality so that in-cab controls will work for enabling / disabling Vigilance and Safety systems, so console players will be able to utilise the functionality.
